¹阿哈布死後，摩阿布就背叛了以色列。	¹And Moab rebelled against Israel, after the death of Achab.
²阿哈齊雅在撒瑪黎雅從樓上的欄杆上跌下來就病了，遂打發使者，吩咐他們說：「你們去求問厄刻龍的神巴耳則步布，我這病還能好嗎？」	²And Ochozias fell through the lattices of his upper chamber which he had in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, saying to them: Go, consult Beelzebub, the god of Accaron, whether I shall recover of this my illness.
³上主的使者對提市貝人厄里亞說：「快起身，去迎接撒瑪黎雅王的使者，問他們說：你們去求問厄刻龍的神巴耳則步布，難道在以色列沒有天主嗎？	³And an angel of the Lord spoke to Elias the Thesbite, saying: Arise, and go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say to them: Is there not a God in Israel, that ye go to consult Beelzebub the god of Accaron?
⁴為此，上主這樣說：你再不能從你所上的床上下來，你必定要死。」厄里亞就去了。	⁴Wherefore thus saith the Lord: From the bed, on which thou art gone up, thou shalt not come down, but thou shalt surely die. And Elias went away.
⁵使者回來見了君王，阿哈齊雅問他們說：「你們為什麼回來了。」	⁵And the messengers turned back to Ochozias. And he said to them: Why are you come back?
⁶他們回答說：「有一個人迎上我們來，對我們說：你們回去見打發你們來的君王，對他說：上主這樣說：你派人去求問厄刻龍的神巴耳則步布，難道在以色列沒有天主嗎？為此，你再不能從你所上的床上下來，你必定要死。」	⁶But they answered him: A man met us, and said to us: Go, and return to the king, that sent you, and you shall say to him: Thus saith the Lord: Is it because there was no God in Israel that thou sendest to Beelzebub the god of Accaron? Therefore thou shalt not come down from the bed, on which thou art gone up, but then shalt surely die.
⁷君王問他們說：「迎上你們，且告訴你們這些話的是怎樣的一個人？」	⁷And he said to them: What manner of man was he who met you, and spoke these words?
⁸他們回答說：「是一個身穿皮毛衣，腰束皮帶的人。」君王說：「這一定是提市貝人厄里亞。」	⁸But they said: A hairy man with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said: It is Elias the Thesbite.
⁹王遂派五十夫長，帶領五十人，去見厄里亞。他上去見厄里亞，厄里亞正坐在山頂上。五十夫長便對厄里亞說：「天主的人，王命你下去。」	⁹And he sent to him a captain of fifty, and the fifty men that were under him. And he went up to him, and as he was sitting on the top of a hill, said to him: Man of God, the king hath commanded that thou come down.
¹⁰厄里亞回答五十夫長說：「如果我是天主的人，願火從天降下，吞噬你和你這五十人！」果然有火從天降下，吞噬了他和那五十人。	¹⁰And Elias answering, said to the captain of fifty: If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee, and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him, and the fifty that were with him.
¹¹王又另派一個五十夫長，帶領五十人，去見厄里亞。五十夫長上去對厄里亞說：「天主的人！王這樣吩咐：要你快下山！」	¹¹And again he sent to him another captain of fifty men, and his fifty with him. And he said to him: Man of God, thus saith the king: Make haste and come down.
¹²厄里亞回答說：「如果我是天主的人，願火從天降下，吞噬你和你這五十人。」果然天主的火從天降下，吞噬了他和那五十人。	¹²Elias answering, said: If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And fire came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
¹³王又派第三個五十夫長，帶領五十人去。這第三個五十夫長上去，一來到就屈膝跪在厄里亞面前，哀求他說：「天主的人，願我的生命和這五十人的生命，在你眼中有點價值！	¹³Again he sent a third captain of fifty men, and the fifty that were with him. And when he was come, he fell upon his knees, before Elias, and besought him and said: Man of God, despise not my life, and the lives of thy servants that are with me.
¹⁴有火從天降下，吞噬了前兩個五十夫長，和他們每人帶領的五十人；現在，願我的生命在你眼中有點價值！」	¹⁴Behold fire came down from heaven, and consumed the two first captains of fifty men, and the fifties that were with them: but now I beseech thee to spare my life.
¹⁵上主的使者對厄里亞說：「你同他下去！不必害怕。」厄里亞就起身同他一起下去見君王，	¹⁵And the angel of the Lord spoke to Elias, saying: Go down with him, fear not. He arose therefore, and went down with him to the king,
¹⁶對君王說：「上主這樣說：由於你打發使者去求問厄刻龍的神巴耳則步布，好像在以色列沒有天主可以向他求問指示一樣，因此，你再不能從你所上的床上下來，你必定要死。」	¹⁶And said to him: Thus saith the Lord: Because thou hast sent messengers to consult Beelzebub the god of Accaron, as though there were not a God in Israel, of whom thou mightest inquire the word; therefore from the bed on which thou art gone up, thou shalt not come down, but thou shalt surely die.
¹⁷阿哈齊雅果然如上主藉厄里亞所說的話死了；因為他沒有兒子，他的兄弟耶曷蘭繼位為王，時在猶大王約沙法特的兒子約蘭第二年。	¹⁷So he died according to the word of the Lord which Elias spoke, and Joram his brother reigned in his stead, in the second year of Joram the son of Josaphat king of Juda: because he had no son.
¹⁸阿哈齊雅其餘的事蹟，都記載在《以色列列王實錄》上。	¹⁸But the rest of the acts of Ochozias which he did, are they not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?
