¹正當他們向百姓講話的時候，司祭、聖殿警官和撒杜塞人來到他們那裏，	¹And as they were speaking to the people, the priests, and the officer of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,
²大為惱怒，因為他們教訓百姓，並宣講耶穌從死者中復活，	²Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead:
³遂下手拿住他們，押在拘留所裏，直到第二天，因為天已晚了。	³And they laid hands upon them, and put them in hold till the next day; for it was now evening.
⁴但聽道的人中，有許多人信從了，男人的數目，大約有五千。	⁴But many of them who had heard the word, believed; and the number of the men was made five thousand.
⁵到了第二天，猶太人的首領、長老和經師都聚集在耶路撒冷，	⁵And it came to pass on the morrow, that their princes, and ancients, and scribes, were gathered together in Jerusalem;
⁶還有大司祭亞納斯和蓋法、若望、亞歷山大以及大司祭家族的人。	⁶And Annas the high priest, and Caiphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest.
⁷他們就令宗徒們站在中間，仔細考問說：「你們憑什麼能力，或以誰的名義行這事？」	⁷And setting them in the midst, they asked: By what power, or by what name, have you done this?
⁸那時，伯多祿充滿聖神，向他們說：「各位百姓首領和長老！	⁸Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said to them: Ye princes of the people, and ancients, hear:
⁹如果你們今天詢問我們有關向一個病人行善的事，並且他怎樣痊癒了，	⁹If we this day are examined concerning the good deed done to the infirm man, by what means he hath been made whole:
¹⁰我很高興告訴你們和全以色列百姓：是憑納匝肋人耶穌基督的名字即是你們所釘死，天主從死者中所復活的；就是憑着這人，這個站在你們面前的人好了。	¹⁰Be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God hath raised from the dead, even by him this man standeth here before you whole.
¹¹這耶穌就是為你們『匠人所棄而不用的石頭，反而成了屋角基石。』	¹¹This is the stone which was rejected by you the builders, which is become the head of the corner.
¹²除他以外，無論憑誰，決無救援，因為在天下人間，沒有賜下別的名字，使我們賴以得救的。」	¹²Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved.
¹³他們看到伯多祿和若望的膽量，並曉得他們是沒有讀過書的平常人，就十分驚訝；他們既認出他們是同耶穌在一起的，	¹³Now seeing the constancy of Peter and of John, understanding that they were illiterate and ignorant men, they wondered; and they knew them that they had been with Jesus.
¹⁴又看見那治好了的人，同他們一起站着，都無言可對。	¹⁴Seeing the man also who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
¹⁵遂命他們暫且離開公議會，彼此商議，	¹⁵But they commanded them to go aside out of the council; and they conferred among themselves,
¹⁶說：「對這些人我們可以作什麼呢？因為他們確實顯了一個明顯的奇蹟，凡耶路撒冷的居民都知道了，我們也不能否認。	¹⁶Saying: What shall we do to these men? for indeed a known miracle hath been done by them, to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem: it is manifest, and we cannot deny it.
¹⁷但是，為叫這事不再在民間傳播，我們當恐嚇他們，叫他們不可再因這名字向任何人發言。」	¹⁷But that it may be no farther spread among the people, let us threaten them that they speak no more in this name to any man.
¹⁸遂叫了他們來，嚴令他們絕對不可再因耶穌的名發言施教。	¹⁸And calling them, they charged them not to speak at all, nor teach in the name of Jesus.
¹⁹伯多祿和若望卻回答說：「聽從你們而不聽從天主，在天主前是否合理，你們評斷罷！	¹⁹But Peter and John answering, said to them: If it be just in the sight of God, to hear you rather than God, judge ye.
²⁰因為我們不得不說我們所見所聞的事。」	²⁰For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
²¹議員們為了百姓的原故，找不到藉口來處罰他們，就把他們恐嚇一番，予以釋放了，因為眾人都為所發生的事光榮天主。	²¹But they threatening, sent them away, not finding how they might punish them, because of the people; for all men glorified what had been done, in that which had come to pass.
²²原來那因奇蹟治好了的人，已有四十多歲了。	²²For the man was above forty years old, in whom that miraculous cure had been wrought.
²³他們被釋放之後，來到自己的人那裏，報告了大司祭和長老向他們所說的一切；	²³And being let go, they came to their own company, and related all that the chief priests and ancients had said to them.
²⁴大家一聽，都同心合意地高聲向天主說：「上主！『是你創造了天地海洋，和其中的一切。』	²⁴Who having heard it, with one accord lifted up their voice to God, and said: Lord, thou art he that didst make heaven and earth, the sea, and all things that are in them.
²⁵你曾以聖神藉我們的祖先，你的僕人達味的口說過：『異民為何叛亂？萬民為何策劃妄事？	²⁵Who, by the Holy Ghost, by the mouth of our father David, thy servant, hast said: Why did the Gentiles rage, and the people meditate vain things?
²⁶世上的君王起來，首領聚集在一起，反對上主和他的受傅者。』	²⁶The kings of the earth stood up, and the princes assembled together against the Lord and his Christ.
²⁷實在，黑落德和般雀比拉多與異民和以色列人聚集在這座城內，反對你的聖僕人耶穌，反對你的受傅者，	²⁷For of a truth there assembled together in this city against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel,
²⁸實行了你的手和計劃所預定要成就的事。	²⁸To do what thy hand and thy counsel decreed to be done.
²⁹現今，上主！請注意他們的恐嚇，賜你的僕人以絕大的膽量，宣講你的真道，	²⁹And now, Lord, behold their threatenings, and grant unto thy servants, that with all confidence they may speak thy word,
³⁰同時伸出你的手，藉你的聖僕人耶穌的名字治病，顯徵兆，行奇蹟。」	³⁰By stretching forth thy hand to cures, and signs, and wonders to be done by the name of thy holy Son Jesus.
³¹他們祈禱後，他們聚集的地方震動起來，眾人都充滿了聖神，大膽地宣講天主的真道。	³¹And when they had prayed, the place was moved wherein they were assembled; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spoke the word of God with confidence.
³²眾信徒都是一心一意，凡各人所有的，沒有人說是自己的，都歸公用。	³²And the multitude of believers had but one heart and one soul: neither did any one say that aught of the things which he possessed, was his own; but all things were common unto them.
³³宗徒們以大德能，作證主耶穌的復活，在眾人前大受愛戴。	³³And with great power did the apostles give testimony of the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord; and great grace was in them all.
³⁴在他們中，沒有一個貧乏的人，因為凡有田地和房屋的，賣了以後，把賣得的價錢帶來，	³⁴For neither was there any one needy among them. For as many as were owners of lands or houses, sold them, and brought the price of the things they sold,
³⁵放在宗徒們腳前，照每人所需要的分配。	³⁵And laid it down before the feet of the apostles. And distribution was made to every one, according as he had need.
³⁶有位若瑟，宗徒稱之為巴爾納伯，解說「安慰之子」，是肋未人，生於塞浦路斯島，	³⁶And Joseph, who, by the apostles, was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, by interpretation, The son of consolation,) a Levite, a Cyprian born,
³⁷他有田地，賣了以後，也把銀錢帶來，放在宗徒腳前。	³⁷Having land, sold it, and brought the price, and laid it at the feet of the apostles.
