| 1亞毛斯的言論：亞毛斯原是特科亞的一個牧人，在猶大王烏齊雅時代和以色列王耶曷阿士的兒子雅洛貝罕時代，地震前二年，見了關於以色列的神視。 | 1The words of Amos, who was among herdsmen of Thecua: which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Ozias king of Juda, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joas king of Israel two years before the earthquake. |
| 2他說：「上主由熙雍一怒吼，從耶路撒冷一出聲，牧場即悽涼，加爾默耳山頂即乾枯。」 | 2And he said: The Lord will roar from Sion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem: and the beautiful places of the shepherds have mourned, and the top of Carmel is withered. |
| 3上主這樣說：「為了大馬士革再三再四犯罪，我不收回成命，因為他們用鐵輥壓榨了基肋阿得。 | 3Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Damascus, and for four I will not convert it: because they have thrashed Galaad with iron wains. |
| 4我必把火投於哈匝耳家，燒毀本哈達得的王宮。 | 4And I will send a fire into the house of Azael, and it shall devour the houses of Benadad. |
| 5我必打斷大馬士革的門閂，消滅彼卡特阿文的居民和貝特厄登的掌權者；阿蘭人民必被擄往克爾」──上主說。 | 5And I will break the bar of Damascus: and I will cut off the inhabitants from the plain of the idol, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of pleasure: and the people of Syria shall be carried away to Cyrene, saith the Lord. |
| 6上主這樣說：「為了迦薩再三再四犯罪，我不收回成命，因為他們將戰俘全都擄去，賣給厄東。 | 6Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Gaza, and for four I will not convert it: because they have carried away a perfect captivity to shut them up in Edom. |
| 7我必把火投在迦薩城牆上，燒盡她的王宮。 | 7And I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour the houses thereof. |
| 8我必消滅阿市多得的居民和阿市刻隆的掌權者，伸手打擊厄刻龍，培肋舍特的殘餘必要滅亡」──吾主上主說。 | 8And I will cut off the inhabitant from Azotus, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ascalon: and I will turn my hand against Accaron, and the rest of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord God. |
| 9上主這樣說：「為了提洛再三再四犯罪，我不收回成命，因為他們將戰俘全都賣給了厄東，毫不念及兄弟的盟約。 | 9Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Tyre, and for four I will not convert it: because they have shut up an entire captivity in Edom, and have not remembered the covenant of brethren. |
| 10我必把火投在提洛的城牆上，燒盡她的王宮。」 | 10And I will send a fire upon the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour the houses thereof. |
| 11上主這樣說：「為了厄東再三再四犯罪，我不收回成命，因為他們持刀追擊自己的兄弟，毫無憐憫，常存怒氣，永懷憤怒。 | 11Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Edom, and for four I will not convert him: because he hath pursued his brother with the sword, and hath cast off all pity, and hath carried on his fury, and hath kept his wrath to the end. |
| 12我必把火投於特曼，燒盡波責辣的王宮。」 | 12I will send a fire into Theman: and it shall devour the houses of Bosra. |
| 13上主這樣說：「為了阿孟子民再三再四犯罪，我不收回成命，因為他們剖開基肋阿得的孕婦，為擴展自己的疆土。 | 13Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of the children of Ammon, and for four I will not convert him: because he hath ripped up the women with child of Galaad to enlarge his border. |
| 14在作戰之日的吶喊中，在風雨天的狂暴中，我必在辣巴的城牆上放火，燒盡她的王宮。 | 14And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabba: and it shall devour the houses thereof with shouting in the day of battle, and with a whirlwind in the day of trouble. |
| 15他們的君王和君王的官吏必一起被擄去」──上主說。 | 15And Melchom shall go into captivity, both he, and his princes together, saith the Lord. |
