| 1以色列家！你們應聽這話，應聽我為你們唱的這首哀歌！ | 1Hear ye this word, which I take up concerning you for a lamentation. The house of Israel is fallen, and it shall rise no more. |
| 2「以色列處女已跌倒，不能再起；摔在地上，無人攙扶。 | 2The virgin of Israel is cast down upon her land, there is none to raise her up. |
| 3因為吾主上主這樣論以色列家說：出一千兵的城只生還一百；出一百的，只生還十個。尋求上主者生，作惡者亡。 | 3For thus saith the Lord God: The city, out of which came forth a thousand, there shall be left in it a hundred: and out of which there came a hundred, there shall be left in it ten, in the house of Israel. |
| 4因為上主這樣對以色列家說：你們尋求我，纔可生存。 | 4For thus saith the Lord to the house of Israel: Seek ye me, and you shall live. |
| 5不可往貝特耳求助，不可往基耳加耳，不可去貝爾舍巴，因為基耳加耳必被擄掠，貝特耳必化為烏有。 | 5But seek not Bethel, and go not into Galgal, neither shall you pass over to Bersabee: for Galgal shall go into captivity, and Bethel shall be unprofitable. |
| 6你們尋求上主，纔可生存，免得他如火衝入若瑟家中，燒毀一切，無人能為以色列家撲滅。 | 6Seek ye the Lord, and live: lest the house of Joseph be burnt with fire, and it shall devour, and there shall be none to quench Bethel. |
| 7是他創造了昴星和參星，變昏黑為黎明，使白晝為黑夜，召海水而傾流於地面，他名叫『雅威』。 | 7You that turn judgment into wormwood, and forsake justice in the land, |
| 8他使滅亡閃擊強者，使毀滅臨於城堡。 | 8Seek him that maketh Arcturus, and Orion, and that turneth darkness into morning, and that changeth day into night: that calleth the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The Lord is his name. |
| 9凡以毒害代替公正，棄正義於地的，是有禍的！ | 9He that with a smile bringeth destruction upon the strong, and waste upon the mighty. |
| 10他們憎恨在城門口主持公道的人，厭惡講真話的人。 | 10They have hated him that rebuketh in the gate: and have abhorred him that speaketh perfectly. |
| 11為此，你們既然欺壓窮人，向他橫征錢糧，你們縱然用方石建築了房屋，卻不得住在裏面；栽植了美麗的葡萄園，卻喝不到園中的酒。 | 11Therefore because you robbed the poor, and took the choice prey from him: you shall build houses with square stone, and shall not dwell in them: you shall plant most delightful vineyards, and shall not drink the wine of them. |
| 12因為我知道你們的罪惡多端，過犯重大：欺壓義人，接受賄賂，在城門口冤枉窮人； | 12Because I know your manifold crimes, and your grievous sins: enemies of the just, taking bribes, and oppressing the poor in the gate. |
| 13因此明智人在此時緘默不言，因為這是邪惡的時代。」 | 13Therefore the prudent shall keep silence at that time, for it is an evil time. |
| 14「你們應尋求善，不可尋求惡：這樣你們纔能生存；上主萬軍的天主也必與你們同在，正如你們所說的。 | 14Seek ye good, and not evil, that you may live: and the Lord the God of hosts will be with you, as you have said. |
| 15你們應惡惡好善，在城門口主張正義，或許萬軍的天主上主會憐憫若瑟的遺民。」 | 15Hate evil, and love good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be the Lord the God of hosts may have mercy on the remnant of Joseph. |
| 16為此，萬軍的天主，吾主上主這樣說：「人必在一切廣場上哀悼，人必在各街道上說：哀哉！哀哉！並且召農人來弔唁，叫會哭的人來痛哭。 | 16Therefore thus saith the Lord the God of hosts the sovereign Lord: In every street there shall be wailing: and in all places that are without, they shall say: Alas, alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skillful in lamentation to lament. |
| 17在所有的葡萄園中，人必哀哭，因為我要在你中間經過」──上主說。 | 17And in all vineyards there shall be wailing: because I will pass through in the midst of thee, saith the Lord. |
| 18「那仰望上主的日子來臨的人，是有禍的！上主的日子為你們有甚麼好處？那是黑暗而無光明之日， | 18Woe to them that desire the day of the Lord: to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light. |
| 19好似人逃避了獅子，又遇到了狗熊；進到房屋裏，手扶在牆上，卻被蛇咬傷。 | 19As if a man should flee from the face of a lion, and a bear should meet him: or enter into the house, and lean with his hand upon the wall, and a serpent should bite him. |
| 20上主的日子豈不是黑暗而沒有光明嗎？那日實在幽暗而漆黑！」 | 20Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light: and obscurity, and no brightness in it? |
| 21「我痛恨厭惡你們的慶節；你們的盛會，我也不喜悅； | 21I hate, and have rejected your festivities: and I will not receive the odour of your assemblies. |
| 22即使你們給我奉獻全燔祭和素祭，我仍不悅納；即使你們獻上肥牲作和平祭，我也不垂顧。 | 22And if you offer me holocausts, and your gifts, I will not receive them: neither will I regard the vows of your fat beasts. |
| 23讓你們喧嚷的歌聲遠離我；你們的琴聲，我也不願再聽； | 23Take away from me the tumult of thy songs: and I will not hear the canticles of thy harp. |
| 24只願公道如水常流，正義像川流不息的江河！ | 24But judgment shall be revealed as water, and justice as a mighty torrent. |
| 25以色列家！你們在曠野中四十年，何嘗給我奉獻過犧牲和素祭？ | 25Did you offer victims and sacrifices to me in the desert for forty years, O house of Israel? |
| 26你們應抬着自己所造的偶像，即你們的君王撒雇特和你們的星神克汪， | 26But you carried a tabernacle for your Moloch, and the image of your idols, the star of your god, which you made to yourselves. |
| 27因為我必使你們充軍到大馬士革之外」，名叫「萬軍的天主」的上主說。 | 27And I will cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the Lord, the God of hosts is his name. |
