¹巴比倫王貝耳沙匝元年，達尼爾睡在床上，作了一夢，在腦海裏見了一些異象；他遂寫下那夢，記述了這事的始末。	¹In the first year of Baltasar king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream: and the vision of his head was upon his bed: and writing the dream, he comprehended it in few words: and relating the sum of it in short, he said:
²達尼爾說道：我夜間見了一個異象：看見天上忽然起了四股巨風，震盪了大海，	²I saw in my vision by night, and behold the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
³遂有四種巨獸從海中出來，各有不同的形狀：	³And four great beasts, different one from another, came up out of the sea.
⁴第一個相似獅子，具有鷹的翅膀；我觀看，直至見牠的翅膀被拔去，由地上被舉起來，兩腳直立像一個人，且給了牠一顆人心。	⁴The first was like a lioness, and had the wings of an eagle: I beheld till her wings were plucked off, and she was lifted up from the earth, and stood upon her feet as a man, and the heart of a man was given to her.
⁵又看見另一個獸，就是第二個，相似熊，半身側立，口內牙齒間銜着三根肋骨；有人吩咐牠說：「起來，大量吞食肉罷！」	⁵And behold another beast like a bear stood up on one side: and there were three rows in the mouth thereof, and in the teeth thereof, and thus they said to it: Arise, devour much flesh.
⁶後來我又觀看，看見另有一獸，相似豹子，有四個頭，背上有四隻鳥的翅膀，且賜給了牠統治權。	⁶After this I beheld, and lo, another like a leopard, and it had upon it four wings as of a fowl, and the beast had four heads, and power was given to it.
⁷此後，我在夜間的神視中觀看，看見第四個獸，非常可怕，極其兇猛，有巨大的鐵牙，吞噬咬碎，又把剩餘的用腳踐踏；牠與以前各獸不同，尚有十隻角。	⁷After this I beheld in the vision of the night, and lo, a fourth beast, terrible and wonderful, and exceeding strong, it had great iron teeth, eating and breaking in pieces, and treading down the rest with its feet: and it was unlike to the other beasts which I had seen before it, and had ten horns.
⁸我定睛注視這些角時，看見在那些角中又生出另一隻小角，在這小角前面，以前的角中有三隻角竟被連根拔除；看，小角上還有眼睛，相似人的眼睛，有一個誇大的口。	⁸I considered the horns, and behold another little horn sprung out of the midst of them: and three of the first horns were plucked up at the presence thereof: and behold eyes like the eyes of a man were in this horn, and a mouth speaking great things.
⁹我觀望，直到安置了寶座，上面坐着一位萬古常存者，他的衣服潔白如雪，他的頭髮潔白如羊毛，他的寶座好似火焰，寶座的輪子如同烈火。	⁹I beheld till thrones were placed, and the Ancient of days sat: his garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like clean wool: his throne like flames of fire: the wheels of it like a burning fire.
¹⁰一道火河湧出，從他面前流下，有千萬服事他的，有億兆侍立在他面前的，審判者已坐堂，案卷已展開。	¹⁰A swift stream of fire issued forth from before him: thousands of thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times a hundred thousand stood before him: the judgment sat, and the books were opened.
¹¹那時，我因那隻角說出大話而注意觀望，一直觀望到那獸被殺，牠的屍體被撕毀，被投入火內。	¹¹I beheld because of the voice of the great words which that horn spoke: and I saw that the beast was slain, and the body thereof was destroyed, and given to the fire to be burnt:
¹²至於其餘的獸，牠們的統治權被剝奪；至於牠們的壽命，也被注定直到某一個時候和期限。	¹²And that the power of the other beasts was taken away: and that times of life were appointed them for a time, and a time.
¹³我仍在夜間的神視中觀望：看見一位相似人子者，乘着天上的雲彩而來，走向萬古常存者，遂即被引到他面前。	¹³I beheld therefore in the vision of the night, and lo, one like the son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and he came even to the Ancient of days: and they presented him before him.
¹⁴他便賜給似人子者統治權、尊榮和國度，各民族、各邦國及各異語人民都要侍奉他；他的王權是永遠的王權，永存不替，他的國度永不滅亡。	¹⁴And he gave him power, and glory, and a kingdom: and all peoples, tribes and tongues shall serve him: his power is an everlasting power that shall not be taken away: and his kingdom that shall not be destroyed.
¹⁵我達尼爾，因此心中憂愁，我所見的異象使我煩亂；	¹⁵My spirit trembled, I Daniel was affrighted at these things, and the visions of my head troubled me.
¹⁶我遂走近一位侍者，問他關於這一切事的實情；他便告訴了我，使我知道這些事的意義說：	¹⁶I went near to one of them that stood by, and asked the truth of him concerning all these things, and he told me the interpretation of the words, and instructed me:
¹⁷「這四個巨獸就是將在世界上興起的四個君王；	¹⁷These four great beasts are four kingdoms, which shall arise out of the earth.
¹⁸但至高者的聖民要承受王國，永遠佔有，直至萬世萬代。」	¹⁸But the saints of the most high God shall take the kingdom: and they shall possess the kingdom for ever and ever.
¹⁹當時我又想知道有關那第四個獸的實情，因為牠與眾不同，非常可怕，牠的牙是鐵的，爪是銅的，吞噬咬碎，又把剩餘的用腳踐踏。	¹⁹After this I would diligently learn concerning the fourth beast, which was very different from all, and exceeding terrible: his teeth and claws were of iron: he devoured and broke in pieces, and the rest he stamped upon with his feet:
²⁰我又願意知道牠頭上的那十隻角及生於其中的那另一隻角，即那隻使三隻角墮於牠前的角，這角還有眼睛，有誇大的口，並且它的狀比其餘的角都大。	²⁰And concerning the ten horns that he had on his head: and concerning the other that came up, before which three horns fell: and of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth speaking great things, and was greater than the rest.
²¹我觀看，看見這隻角正在與聖民交戰，竟戰勝了他們，	²¹I beheld, and lo, that horn made war against the saints, and prevailed over them,
²²直到萬古常存者降來，為至高者的聖民伸冤，於是期限到了，而眾聖民取得了國權。	²²Till the Ancient of days came and gave judgment to the saints of the most High, and the time came, and the saints obtained the kingdom.
²³侍者告訴我說：「這第四個獸就是將在世界上興起的第四個國，她與其他各國不同，她要併吞、蹂躪且粉碎天下。	²³And thus he said: The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be greater than all the kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
²⁴至於那十隻角，即指將由此國而興起的十個君王；他們以後，將興起另一位君王，他與以前者不同，他要制勝三個君王，	²⁴And the ten horns of the same kingdom, shall be ten kings: and another shall rise up after them, and he shall be mightier than the former, and he shall bring down three kings.
²⁵他要說褻瀆至高者的話，企圖消滅至高者的聖民，擅自改變節慶和法律；聖民將被交在他手中，直到一段時期，另兩段時期和半段時期；	²⁵And he shall speak words against the High One, and shall crush the saints of the most High: and he shall think himself able to change times and laws, and they shall be delivered into his hand until a time, and times, and half a time.
²⁶然後審判者要坐堂，奪去他的統治權，將他永遠消滅，	²⁶And judgment shall sit, that his power may be taken away, and be broken in pieces, and perish even to the end.
²⁷將王國的統治權和天下萬邦的尊威，賜給至高者的聖民：他的國是永遠的國，一切邦國都要服事他，順從他。」	²⁷And that the kingdom, and power, and the greatness of the kingdom, under the whole heaven, may be given to the people of the saints of the most High: whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all kings shall serve him, and shall obey him.
²⁸此事敘述至此結束，我達尼爾心中十分煩亂，面色都改變了，但我仍將此事存在心中。	²⁸Hitherto is the end of the word. I Daniel was much troubled with my thoughts, and my countenance was changed in me: but I kept the word in my heart.
