| 1蒼天，傾聽，我要發言；大地，聆聽我口要說的話！ | 1Hear, O ye heavens, the things I speak, let the earth give ear to the words of my mouth. |
| 2願我的教訓如雨下降，我的言語似露滴落，像降在綠茵上的細雨，像落在青草上的甘霖！ | 2Let my doctrine gather as the rain, let my speech distil as the dew, as a shower upon the herb, and as drops upon the grass. |
| 3因為我要宣揚上主的名，請讚頌我們的天主！ | 3Because I will invoke the name of the Lord: give ye magnificence to our God. |
| 4他是磐石，他的作為完美無比；他的行徑公平正直，他是忠實無妄的天主，公義而又正直。 | 4The works of God are perfect, and all his ways are judgments: God is faithful and without any iniquity, he is just and right. |
| 5那不堪稱為子女的，自趨墮落，背叛了他，實在是個邪惡敗壞的世代！ | 5They have sinned against him, and are nose of his children in their filth: they are a wicked and perverse generation. |
| 6愚昧無知的人民，你們就這樣報答上主嗎？他不是生育你，創造你，使你生存的大父嗎？ | 6Is this the return thou makest to the Lord, O foolish and senseless people? Is not he thy father, that hath possessed thee, and made thee, and created thee? |
| 7你回想往古的時日，思念歷代的歲月；問你的父親，問你的長輩，他必給你講述： | 7Remember the days of old, think upon every generation: ask thy father, and he will declare to thee: thy elders and they will tell thee. |
| 8當至高者為民族分配產業時，分佈人的子孫時，按照天使的數目，為萬民劃定了疆界； | 8When the Most High divided the nations: when he separated the sons of Adam, he appointed the bounds of people according to the number of the children of Israel. |
| 9但雅各伯是上主所保留的一分，以色列成為他特有的產業。 | 9But the Lord's portion is his people: Jacob the lot of his inheritance. |
| 10上主在曠野之地，在野獸咆哮的原野，發現了他，遂將他抱起，加以撫育，加以保護，有如自己的眼珠。 | 10He found him in a desert land, in a place of horror, and of vast wilderness: he led him about, and taught him: and he kept him as the apple of his eye. |
| 11老鷹怎樣守候自己的窩巢，飛翔在幼雛之上，上主也怎樣伸展雙翅，把他背在自己的翼上。 | 11As the eagle enticing her young to fly, and hovering over them, he spread his wings, and hath taken him and carried him on his shoulders. |
| 12上主獨自領導了他，他旁邊並沒有外邦的神祇。 | 12The Lord alone was his leader: and there was no strange god with him. |
| 13上主使他馳騁於高原之上，以田間的出產養育他，使他享受巖穴間的蜜，堅石中的油， | 13He set him upon high land: that he might eat the fruits of the fields, that he might suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the hardest stone, |
| 14牛酪和羊乳，肥美的羔羊和公羊，巴商的公牛與山羊，以及上等的麥麵；並以葡萄美酒作你的飲品。 | 14Butter of the herd, and milk of the sheep with the fat of lambs, and of the rams of the breed of Basan: and goats with the marrow of wheat, and might drink the purest blood of the grape. |
| 15雅各伯吃肥了，耶叔戎吃胖了，會踢人了。──的確，你胖了，肥了，飽滿了。──他遂拋棄了造他的天主，輕視了救他的磐石。 | 15The beloved grew fat, and kicked: he grew fat, and thick and gross, he forsook God who made him, and departed from God his saviour. |
| 16他們以邪神的敬禮激起他的妒火，以可憎惡的事物，惹他動怒； | 16They provoked him by strange gods, and stirred him up to anger, with their abominations. |
| 17他們所祭祀的是邪神，而非真神，是向來所不認識的神，是近來新興，你們的祖先所不敬畏的神。 | 17They sacrificed to devils and not to God: to gods whom they knew not: that were newly come up, whom their fathers worshipped not. |
| 18你忽略了那生你的磐石，忘記了那使你出世的天主。 | 18Thou hast forsaken the God that beget thee, and hast forgotten the Lord that created thee. |
| 19上主一見，大為震怒，遂拋棄了自己的子女， | 19The Lord saw, and was moved to wrath: because his own sons and daughters provoked him. |
| 20說我要掩面不顧他們，要看他們的結局如何；這實在是敗壞的一代，毫無信實的子女。 | 20And he said: I will hide my face from them, and will consider what their last end shall be: for it is a perverse generation, and unfaithful children. |
| 21他們以虛妄之神，激起我的怒火，以虛無之物，惹我動怒；我也要以那不成子民的人激起他們的妒火，以愚昧的民族惹他們發怒。 | 21They have provoked me with that which was no god, and have angered me with their vanities: and I will provoke them with that which is no people, and will vex them with a foolish nation. |
| 22我的怒火一燃起，必燒到陰府的深底，吞滅大地及其出產，焚毀山岳的基礎。 | 22A fire is kindled in my wrath, and shall burn even to the lowest hell: and shall devour the earth with her increase, and shall burn the foundations of the mountains. |
| 23我要將災禍不斷加在他們身上，向他們射盡我的箭矢。 | 23I will heap evils upon them, and will spend my arrows among them. |
| 24他們必因饑餓而衰弱，必為熱症、毒疫所消滅；我還使尖牙的野獸和土中爬行的毒蟲傷害他們。 | 24They shall be consumed with famine, and birds shall devour them with a most bitter bite: I will send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the fury of creatures that trail upon the ground, and of serpents. |
| 25外有刀劍，內有恐怖，使少男少女，乳兒白頭，同歸於盡。 | 25Without, the sword shall lay them waste, and terror within, both the young man and the virgin, the sucking child with the man in years. |
| 26我原想粉碎他們，將他們的記念由人間消滅； | 26I said: Where are they? I will make the memory of them to cease from among men. |
| 27但我怕仇人自誇，怕敵人誤會說：「是我的手得勝了，而不是上主行了這一切。」 | 27But for the wrath of the enemies I have deferred it: lest perhaps their enemies might be proud, and should say: Our mighty hand, and not the Lord, hath done all these things. |
| 28他們原是無謀的民族，沒有一點見識。 | 28They are a nation without counsel, and without wisdom. |
| 29如果他們有點智慧，定會明瞭此事，看清未來的局勢。 | 29O that they would be wise and would understand, and would provide for their last end. |
| 30「若不是他們的磐石出賣了他們，上主放棄了他們，一人怎能追擊一千，兩人怎能打跑一萬？」 | 30How should one pursue after a thousand, and two chase ten thousand? Was it not, because their God had sold them, and the Lord had shut them up? |
| 31連我們的仇人也承認，他們的磐石不如我們的磐石。 | 31For our God is not as their gods: our enemies themselves are judges. |
| 32誠然，他們的葡萄秧，出自索多瑪的葡萄園，來自哈摩辣的田園；他們的葡萄是毒葡萄，粒粒葡萄皆酸苦。 | 32Their vines are of the vineyard of Sodom, and of the suburbs of Gomorrha: their grapes are grapes of gall, and their clusters most bitter. |
| 33他們的酒是蛇的毒汁，是蝮蛇的猛烈毒液。 | 33Their wine is the gall of dragons, and the venom of asps, which is incurable. |
| 34這事豈不是貯藏在我身旁，封閉在我府庫裏？ | 34Are not these things stored up with me, and sealed up in my treasures? |
| 35等到他們失足之時，我必復仇報復；他們滅亡的日子確已臨近，給他們預定的命運就要來到。 | 35Revenge is mine, and I will repay them in due time, that their foot may slide: the day of destruction is at hand, and the time makes haste to come. |
| 36因為上主要衛護自己的人民，憐恤自己的僕人。當他看見他們的能力已逝，奴隸與自由人已到絕境， | 36The Lord will judge his people, and will have mercy on his servants: he shall see that their hand is weakened, and that they who were shut up have also failed, and they that remained are consumed. |
| 37必問說：「他們的神祇在那裏，他們投靠的磐石究在何處？ | 37And he shall say: Where are their gods, in whom they trusted? |
| 38一向吃他們祭牲脂肪的，喝他們奠祭酒漿的，都在那裏？讓他們起來援助你們罷！讓他們做你們的保障罷！ | 38Of whose victims they ate the fat, and drank the wine of their drink offerings: let them arise and help you, and protect you in your distress. |
| 39現在你們應認清，只有我是『那一位』，除我以外沒有別神；我使人死，也使人活；我擊傷人，也加以治療；誰也不能由我手中救出。 | 39See ye that I alone am, and there is no other God besides me: I will kill and I will make to live: I will strike, and I will heal, and there is none that can deliver out of my hand. |
| 40我向天舉手宣誓：我生活，至於永遠！ | 40I will lift up my hand to heaven, and I will say: I live for ever. |
| 41我一磨亮我的刀劍，我一掌握裁判權，必向我的敵人雪恨，對恨我的人報復。 | 41If I shall whet my sword as the lightning, and my hand take hold on judgment: I will render vengeance to my enemies, and repay them that hate me. |
| 42我要使我的箭矢醉飲鮮血，使我的刀劍吞食血肉；陣亡和俘虜的鮮血，仇敵將領的頭顱。」 | 42I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh, of the blood of the slain and of the captivity, of the bare head of the enemies. |
| 43萬國，你們應向他的百姓祝賀！因為上主必為自己的僕人報血仇，向仇敵報復，聖潔自己的土地和百姓。 | 43Praise his people, ye nations, for he will revenge the blood of his servants: and will render vengeance to their enemies, and he will be merciful to the land of his people. |
| 44梅瑟和農的兒子若蘇厄前來，將這篇詩歌的話朗誦給百姓聽。 | 44So Moses came and spoke all the words of this canticle in the ears of the people, and Josue the son of Nun. |
| 45梅瑟向全以色列人一朗誦完了， | 45And he ended all these words, speaking to all Israel. |
| 46就對他們說：「你們應把我今日警告你們的一切話記在心內，好吩咐你們的子孫，謹守遵行這法律上的一切話。 | 46And he said to them: Set your hearts on all the words, which I testify to you this day: which you shall command your children to observe and to do, and to fulfill all that is written in this law: |
| 47因為這為你們不是空洞的話，而是關係你們的生命；由於遵守這話，你們纔能在過約但河後所要佔領的地上，長久居留。」 | 47For they are not commanded you in vain, but that every one should live in them, and that doing them you may continue a long time in the land whither you are going over the Jordan to possess it. |
| 48上主就在當天對梅瑟說： | 48And the Lord spoke to Moses the same day, saying: |
| 49「你到摩阿布去，上這座阿巴陵山，即面對耶里哥的乃波山上去，觀看我要給以色列子民作產業的客納罕地。 | 49Go up into this mountain Abarim, (that is to say, of passages,) unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab over against Jericho: and see the land of Chanaan, which I will deliver to the children of Israel to possess, and die thou in the mountain. |
| 50你要死在你所上的山上，歸到你本族那裏，像你哥哥亞郎死在曷爾山，歸到他本族那裏一樣。 | 50When thou art gone up into it thou shalt be gathered to thy people, as Aaron thy brother died in mount Her, and was gathered to his people: |
| 51因為你們在親曠野，卡德士的默黎巴水邊，在以色列子民中對我失信，沒有在他們中尊我為聖； | 51Because you trespassed against me in the midst of the children of Israel, at the waters of contradiction in Cades of the desert of Sin: and you did not sanctify me among the children of Israel. |
| 52為此，我賜給以色列子民的地方，你只可由對面眺望，卻不能進去。」 | 52Thou shalt see the land before thee, which I will give to the children of Israel, but thou shalt not enter into it. |
