| 1有些以色列的長老來見我，坐在我面前。 | 1And some of the ancients of Israel came to me, and sat before me. |
| 2那時上主的話傳給我說： | 2And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: |
| 3「人子，這些人心中供他們自己的邪神，在自己面前放犯罪的絆腳石，我豈能讓他們來求問？ | 3Son of man, these men have placed their uncleannesses in their hearts, and have set up before their face the stumblingblock of their iniquity: and shall I answer when they inquire of me? |
| 4為此，你要告訴他們，對他們說：吾主上主這樣說：以色列家族中的任何人，若心中仍供自己的神，在自己面前仍放犯罪的絆腳石，而來求見先知，我上主必按照他偶像的數目親自答覆他， | 4Therefore speak to them, and say to them: Thus saith the Lord God: Man, man of the house of Israel that shall place his uncleannesses in his heart, and set up the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and shall come to the prophet inquiring of me by him: I the Lord will answer him according to the multitude of his uncleannesses: |
| 5為能打動以色列家族的心，因為他們為了所有的偶像疏遠了我。 | 5That the house of Israel may be caught in their own heart, with which they have departed from me through all their idols. |
| 6為此，你應對以色列家族說：吾主上主這樣說：回頭罷！離開你們的偶像，放棄你們所有的醜惡！ | 6Therefore say to the house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord God: Be converted, and depart from your idols, and turn away your faces from all your abominations. |
| 7以色列家族中任何人，甚或在以色列中僑居的外國人，如果疏遠了我，把自己的邪神供在心中，把犯罪的絆腳石放在自己面前，而敢來見先知求問我，我上主必親自答覆他。 | 7For every man of the house of Israel, and every stranger among the proselytes in Israel, if he separate himself from me, and place his idols in his heart, and set the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and come to the prophet to inquire of me by him: I the Lord will answer him by myself. |
| 8我必正面打擊這樣的人，使他成為一種警戒和笑柄，把他由人民中剷除：如此，你們必承認我是上主。 | 8And I will set my face against that man, and will make him an example, and a proverb, and will cut him off from the midst of my people: and you shall know that I am the Lord. |
| 9若一個先知受騙而發言，這是我上主哄騙了那先知；我要伸手打擊他，從我人民以色列中間把他消滅。 | 9And when the prophet shall err, and speak a word: I the Lord have deceived that prophet: and I will stretch forth my hand upon him, and will cut him off from the midst of my people Israel. |
| 10求問者與先知的罪一樣，都應負咎。 | 10And they shall bear their iniquity: according to the iniquity of him that inquireth, so shall the iniquity of the prophet be. |
| 11如此，以色列家族不再遠離我而走入迷途，不再受任何罪惡的玷污；他們要作我的人民，我要作他們的天主：這是吾主上主的斷語。」 | 11That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, nor be polluted with all their transgressions: but may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 12上主的話傳給我說： | 12And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: |
| 13「人子，若某地背信違約，犯罪得罪我，我必伸手打擊她，斷絕她的糧源，使饑荒降到那地，把人和獸從那地剷除。 | 13Son of man, when a land shall sin against me, so as to transgress grievously, I will stretch forth my hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof: and I will send famine upon it, and will destroy man and beast out of it. |
| 14縱然在那裏有諾厄、達尼爾和約伯三個人，這三個人也只能為了自己的義德救自己──吾主上主的斷語── | 14And if these three men, Noe, Daniel, and Job, shall be in it: they shall deliver their own souls by their justice, saith the Lord of hosts. |
| 15或者我使猛獸橫行那地，滅絕人跡，使那地變為荒野，由於猛獸而沒人敢經過。 | 15And if I shall bring mischievous beasts also upon the land to waste it, and it be desolate, so that there is none that can pass because of the beasts: |
| 16縱然在那裏有這三個人，我指我的生命起誓──吾主上主的斷語──他們也不能救自己的子女，只能救自己，那地方必變為荒蕪。 | 16If these three men shall be in it, as I live, saith the Lord, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters: but they only shall be delivered, and the land shall be made desolate. |
| 17或者我使刀兵來到那地，且吩咐說：刀兵應橫行那地，剷除那裏的人和獸類！ | 17Or if I bring the sword upon that land, and say to the sword: Pass through the land: and I destroy man and beast out of it: |
| 18縱然在那裏有這三個人，我指我的生命起誓──吾主上主的斷語──他們也不能救自己的子女，而只能救自己。 | 18And these three men be in the midst thereof: as I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they themselves alone shall be delivered. |
| 19或者使那地發生瘟疫，以屠殺發洩我的憤怒，好從那裏滅絕人和獸類， | 19Or if I also send the pestilence upon that land, and pour out my indignation upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast: |
| 20縱然諾厄、達尼爾和約伯也在那裏，我指我的生命起誓──吾主上主的斷語──他們連一子一女也救不出，只能因自己的義德救自己。 | 20And Noe, and Daniel, and Job be in the midst thereof: as I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter: but they shall only deliver their own souls by their justice. |
| 21因為吾主上主這樣說：我雖然使刀兵、饑荒、猛獸、瘟疫四大災難降在耶路撒冷，為滅絕那裏的人和獸類； | 21For thus saith the Lord: Although I shall send in upon Jerusalem my four grievous judgments, the sword, and the famine, and the mischievous beasts, and the pestilence, to destroy out of it man and beast, |
| 22但是那裏還有幸免的人，領子女逃出。看，他們要到你們這裏來，使你們看見他們的行為和動作，而對我加於耶路撒冷的災難和我對她所行的一切，獲得寬慰。 | 22Yet there shall be left in it some that shall be saved, who shall bring away their sons and daughters: behold they shall come among you, and you shall see their way, and their doings: and you shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, in all things that I have brought upon it. |
| 23當你們看見他們的行為和動作時，你們必能獲得安慰：這樣你們必然知道：我在耶路撒冷行了所行的一切，並非無因──吾主上主的斷語。」 | 23And they shall comfort you, when you shall see their ways, and their doings: and you shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord God. |
