希伯來書	Hebrews
¹法律既然只有未來美物的影子，沒有那些事物的真相，所以總不能因着每年常獻的同樣犧牲，使那些願意親近天主的人得到成全；	¹For the law having a shadow of the good things to come, not the very image of the things; by the selfsame sacrifices which they offer continually every year, can never make the comers thereunto perfect:
²因為，如果那些行敬禮的人，一次而為永遠潔淨了，良心不再覺得有罪了，祭獻豈不就要停止嗎？	²For then they would have ceased to be offered: because the worshippers once cleansed should have no conscience of sin any longer:
³可是，正因這祭獻纔使人每年想起罪過來，	³But in them there is made a commemoration of sins every year.
⁴因為公牛和公山羊的血斷不能除免罪過。	⁴For it is impossible that with the blood of oxen and goats sin should be taken away.
⁵為此，基督一進入世界便說：「犧牲與素祭，已非你所要，卻給我預備了一個身體；	⁵Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith: Sacrifice and oblation thou wouldest not: but a body thou hast fitted to me:
⁶全燔祭和贖罪祭，已非你所喜，	⁶Holocausts for sin did not please thee.
⁷於是我說：看，我已來到！關於我，書卷上已有記載：天主！我來為承行你的旨意。」	⁷Then said I: Behold I come: in the head of the book it is written of me: that I should do thy will, O God.
⁸前邊說：「祭物和素祭，全燔祭和贖罪祭，已非你所要，已非你所喜」；這一切都是按照法律所奉獻的；	⁸In saying before, Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin thou wouldest not, neither are they pleasing to thee, which are offered according to the law.
⁹後邊他說：「看，我已來到，為承行你的旨意」；由此可見，他廢除了那先前的，為要成立那以後的。	⁹Then said I: Behold, I come to do thy will, O God: he taketh away the first, that he may establish that which followeth.
¹⁰我們就是因這旨意，藉耶穌基督的身體，一次而為永遠的祭獻，得到了聖化。	¹⁰In the which will, we are sanctified by the oblation of the body of Jesus Christ once.
¹¹況且，每一位司祭都是天天侍立着執行敬禮，並屢次奉獻總不能除去罪惡的同樣犧牲；	¹¹And every priest indeed standeth daily ministering, and often offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
¹²但是基督只奉獻了一次贖罪的犧牲，以後便永遠坐在天主右邊，	¹²But this man offering one sacrifice for sins, for ever sitteth on the right hand of God,
¹³從今以後，只等待將他的仇人變作他腳下的踏板。	¹³From henceforth expecting, until his enemies be made his footstool.
¹⁴因為他只藉一次奉獻，就永遠使被聖化的人得以成全。	¹⁴For by one oblation he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
¹⁵聖神也給我們作證，因為他說過，	¹⁵And the Holy Ghost also doth testify this to us. For after that he said:
¹⁶「這是我在那些時日後，與他們訂立的盟約──上主說──我要將我的法律放在他們的心中，寫在他們的明悟中」這話以後，	¹⁶And this is the testament which I will make unto them after those days, saith the Lord. I will give my laws in their hearts, and on their minds will I write them:
¹⁷又說：「他們的罪過和他們的邪惡，我總不再追念。」	¹⁷And their sins and iniquities I will remember no more.
¹⁸若這些罪已經赦了，也就用不着贖罪的祭獻了。	¹⁸Now where there is a remission of these, there is no more an oblation for sin.
¹⁹所以，弟兄們！我們既然懷着大膽的信心，靠着耶穌的寶血得以進入聖殿，	¹⁹Having therefore, brethren, a confidence in the entering into the holies by the blood of Christ;
²⁰即進入由他給我們開創的一條又新又活，通過帳幔，即他肉身的道路；	²⁰A new and living way which he hath dedicated for us through the veil, that is to say, his flesh,
²¹而且我們既然又有一位掌管天主家庭的偉大司祭，	²¹And a high priest over the house of God:
²²我們就應在洗淨心靈，脫離邪僻的良心，和用淨水洗滌身體以後，懷着真誠的心，以完備的信德去接近天主；	²²Let us draw near with a true heart in fulness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with clean water.
²³也應堅持所明認的望德，毫不動搖，因為應許的那位是忠信的；	²³Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering (for he is faithful that hath promised),
²⁴也應該彼此關懷，激發愛德，勉勵行善，	²⁴And let us consider one another, to provoke unto charity and to good works:
²⁵決不離棄我們的集會，就像一些人所習慣行的；反而應彼此勸勉；你們見那日子越近，就越該如此。	²⁵Not forsaking our assembly, as some are accustomed; but comforting one another, and so much the more as you see the day approaching.
²⁶因為如果我們認識真理之後，還故意犯背信的罪，就再沒有另一個贖罪祭了，	²⁶For if we sin wilfully after having the knowledge of the truth, there is now left no sacrifice for sins,
²⁷只有一種等待審判的怕情，和勢將吞滅叛逆者的烈火。	²⁷But a certain dreadful expectation of judgment, and the rage of a fire which shall consume the adversaries.
²⁸誰若廢棄梅瑟法律，只要有兩三個證人，他就該死，必不得憐恤；	²⁸A man making void the law of Moses, dieth without any mercy under two or three witnesses:
²⁹那麼，你們想一想：那踐踏了天主子，拿自己藉以成聖的盟約的血當作了俗物，而又輕慢了賜恩寵的聖神的人，應當受怎樣更厲害的懲罰啊！	²⁹How much more, do you think he deserveth worse punishments, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath esteemed the blood of the testament unclean, by which he was sanctified, and hath offered an affront to the Spirit of grace?
³⁰因為我們知道誰曾說過：「復仇在乎我，我必要報復」；又說：「上主必要審判自己的百姓。」	³⁰For we know him that hath said: Vengeance belongeth to me, and I will repay. And again: The Lord shall judge his people.
³¹落在永生的天主手中，真是可怕！	³¹It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
³²請你們回想回想先前的時日，那時你們纔蒙光照，就忍受了苦難的嚴厲打擊：	³²But call to mind the former days, wherein, being illuminated, you endured a great fight of afflictions.
³³一方面，你們當眾受嗤笑、凌辱和磨難，另一方面，你們與這樣受苦的人作了同伴。	³³And on the one hand indeed, by reproaches and tribulations, were made a gazingstock; and on the other, became companions of them that were used in such sort.
³⁴的確，你們同情了監禁的人，又欣然忍受了你們的財物被搶掠，因為你們知道：你們已獲有更高貴且常存的產業，	³⁴For you both had compassion on them that were in bands, and took with joy the being stripped of your own goods, knowing that you have a better and a lasting substance.
³⁵所以千萬不要喪失那使你們可得大賞報的勇敢信心。	³⁵Do not therefore lose your confidence, which hath a great reward.
³⁶原來你們所需要的就是堅忍，為使你們承行天主的旨意，而獲得那所應許的。	³⁶For patience is necessary for you; that, doing the will of God, you may receive the promise.
³⁷「因為還有很短的一會兒，要來的那一位，就要來到，決不遲緩。	³⁷For yet a little and a very little while, and he that is to come, will come, and will not delay.
³⁸我的義人靠信德而生活，假使他退縮，他必不會中悅我心。」	³⁸But my just man liveth by faith; but if he withdraw himself, he shall not please my soul.
³⁹我們並不是那般退縮以致喪亡的人，而是有信德得以保全靈魂的人。	³⁹But we are not the children of withdrawing unto perdition, but of faith to the saving of the soul.
