| 1烏齊雅、納堂、【阿哈次和希則克雅】為猶大王，約阿士的兒子雅洛貝罕為以色列王時，上主有話傳給貝厄黎的兒子歐瑟亞。 | 1The word of the Lord, that came to Osee the son of Beeri, in the days of Ozias, Joathan, Achaz, and Ezechias kings of Juda, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joas king of Israel. |
| 2上主開始藉歐瑟亞發言時，上主對歐瑟亞說：「你去娶一個娼婦為妻，讓她生淫亂的子女，因為此地淫亂放蕩，背離了上主。」 | 2The beginning of the Lord's speaking by Osse: and the Lord said to Osee: Go, take thee a wife of fornications, and have of her children of fornications: for the land by fornication shall depart from the Lord. |
| 3歐瑟亞便去娶了狄布拉因的女兒哥默爾為妻；她懷孕，給他生了一個兒子。 | 3So he went, and took Gomer the daughter of Debelaim: and she conceived and bore him a son. |
| 4上主對歐瑟亞說：「你要給他起名叫依次勒耳，因為過不久，我要向耶胡家追討依次勒耳的血債，要消滅以色列家的王室。 | 4And the Lord said to him: Call his name Jezrahel: for yet a little while, and I will visit the blood of Jezrahel upon the house of Jehu, and I will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel. |
| 5到那一天，我必要在依次勒耳山谷折斷以色列的弓。」 | 5And in that day I will break in pieces the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezrahel. |
| 6哥默爾再懷孕，生了一個女兒，上主對歐瑟亞說：「你給她起名叫羅魯阿瑪（不蒙愛憐者），因為我不再愛憐以色列家，以致我不再寬宥他們。 | 6And she conceived again, and bore a daughter, and he said to him: Call her name, Without mercy: for I will not add any more to have mercy on the house of Israel, but I will utterly forget them. |
| 7但我要愛憐猶大家族，要拯救他們，因為我上主是他們的天主；但是我不以弓弩、刀劍、戰爭、戰馬和騎士拯救他們。 | 7And I will have mercy on the house of Juda, and I will save them by the Lord their God: and I will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, nor by horses, nor by horsemen. |
| 8羅魯阿瑪斷奶之後，哥默爾又懷孕，生了一個兒子。 | 8And she weaned her that was called Without mercy. And she conceived, and bore a son. |
| 9上主說：「你給他起名叫羅阿米（非我人民），因為你們已不是我的人民，我已也不是你們的上主。」 | 9And he said: Call his name, Not my people: for you are not my people, and I will not be yours. |
| 10 | 10And the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, that is without measure, and shall not be numbered. And it shall be in the place where it shall be said to them: You are not my people: it shall be said to them: Ye are the sons of the living God. |
| 11 | 11And the children of Juda, and the children of Israel shall be gathered together: and they shall appoint themselves one head, and shall come up out of the land: for great is the day of Jezrahel. |
