| 1以色列子民的數目將如海邊的沙粒，不可斗量，不可勝數；在那裏人曾對他們說：「你們不是我的人民。」在那裏人也要對他們說：「你們是永生天主的子女。」 | 1Say ye to your brethren: You are my people, and to your sister: Thou hast obtained mercy. |
| 2猶大子民和以色列子民將聚在一起，要為自己選定一個首領；他們要由此地擴展，因為依次勒耳的日子要成為偉大的。 | 2Judge your mother, judge her: because she is not my wife, and I am not her husband. Let her put away her fornications from her face, and her adulteries from between her breasts. |
| 3你們稱呼你們的弟兄為「我的人民」罷！稱呼你們的姊妹為「蒙受愛憐者」罷！ | 3Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born: and I will make her as a wilderness, and will set her as a land that none can pass through, and will kill her with drought. |
| 4你們譴責罷！要譴責你們的母親！因為她不是我的妻子，我也不是她的丈夫；望她從自己的臉上除去自己的色相，從自己的胸間去掉淫亂， | 4And I will not have mercy on her children: for they are the children of fornications. |
| 5免得我剝去她的衣服，使她裸露，像她出生之日；使她相似曠野，使她有如旱地，叫她渴死。 | 5For their mother hath committed fornication, she that conceived them is covered with shame: for she said: I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread, and my water, my wool, and my flax, my oil, and my drink. |
| 6至於她的子女，我也不愛憐，因為是由淫亂生的子女。 | 6Wherefore behold I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and I will stop it up with a wall, and she shall not find her paths. |
| 7實在，他們的母親放蕩賣淫，那懷妊他們的，荒淫無恥，因為她曾說：我要追隨那些給我餅、水、羊毛、麻布、油和飲料的情人。 | 7And she shall follow after her lovers, and shall not overtake them: and she shall seek them, and shall not find, and she shall say: I will go, and return to my first husband, because it was better with me then, than now. |
| 8因此，看，我要以荊棘杜塞她的去路，築一道牆壁，使他尋不着她的途徑； | 8And she did not know that I gave her corn and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver, and gold, which they have used in the service of Baal. |
| 9她要追隨她的情人，也追不上；要尋找他們，也尋不着。那時她要說：我願回去，回到我的前夫那裏去，因為那時為我比現在好得多。 | 9Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in its season, and my wine in its season, and I will set at liberty my wool, and my flax, which covered her disgrace. |
| 10她不肯承認是我賜給了她五穀、美酒和油；反之她把我廣施給她的金銀，都獻給了巴耳； | 10And now I will lay open her folly in the eyes of her lovers: and no man shall deliver her out of my hand: |
| 11因此等時期一到，我必要奪回我的五穀；時機一來，我必要奪回我的美酒，收回我用以遮蔽她裸體的毛衣和麻布； | 11And I will cause all her mirth to cease, her solemnities, her new moons, her sabbaths, and all her festival times. |
| 12我要這樣在她的情人們眼前揭露她的羞恥，誰也不能由我手中救出她來。 | 12And I will destroy her vines, and her fig trees, of which she said: These are my rewards, which my lovers have given me: and I will make her as a forest, and the beasts of the field shall devour her. |
| 13我要使她的歡樂停止，她再沒有節日、朔日、安息日和一切的盛會。 | 13And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, to whom she burnt incense, and decked herself out with her earrings, and with her jewels, and went after her lovers, and forgot me, saith the Lord. |
| 14我要摧殘她的葡萄園和無花果園，因她曾說：「這就是我的情人給與我的身價。」我必要使它們成為山林，叫野獸來吃盡。 | 14Therefore, behold I will allure her, and will lead her into the wilderness: and I will speak to her heart. |
| 15我要為了她敬拜巴耳的日子，懲罰她，就是她向他們燒香，以鼻環和項鍊修飾自己去追隨她的情人，而忘卻了我的那些日子──上主的斷語。 | 15And I will give her vinedressers out of the same place, and the valley of Achor for an opening of hope: and she shall sing there according to the days of her youth, and according to the days of her coming up out of the land of Egypt. |
| 16為此，看，我要誘導她，領她到曠野和她談心。 | 16And it shall be in that day, saith the Lord, That she shall call me: My husband, and she shall call me no more Baali. |
| 17從此我仍要將她的葡萄園賜給她，仍將阿苛爾山谷作為她的希望之門：她要上到那裏，就如她幼年時，就如她從埃及地上來的那一天一樣。 | 17And I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and she shall no more remember their name. |
| 18到那一天──上主的斷語──她要稱呼我為「依士」（我的丈夫），不再稱呼我為「巴里」（我主）。 | 18And in that day I will make a covenant with them, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of the air, and with the creeping things of the earth: and I will destroy the bow, and the sword, and war out of the land: and I will make them sleep secure. |
| 19我必要從她的口中把巴耳的名號除掉，使他們再也不提起他們的名字。 | 19And I will espouse thee to me for ever: and I will espouse thee to me in justice, and judgment, and in mercy, and in commiserations. |
| 20到那一天，為了他們，我要同田間的野獸，天空的飛鳥和地上的爬蟲訂立盟約，並且我要從地上將弓弩、刀劍和戰爭毀滅，使他們安居樂業。 | 20And I will espouse thee to me in faith: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord. |
| 21我要永遠聘娶你，以正義、公平、慈愛、憐憫聘娶你； | 21And it shall come to pass in that day: I will hear, saith the Lord, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth. |
| 22以忠實聘娶你，使你認識我是上主。 | 22And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil, and these shall hear Jezrahel. |
| 23到那一天，我必要應允──上主的斷語──我要應允高天，高天要應允大地， | 23And I will sow her unto me in the earth, and I will have mercy on her that was without mercy. |
| 24大地要應允五穀、酒、油，五穀、酒、油也要應允依次勒耳。 | 24And I will say to that which was not my people: Thou art my people: and they shall say: Thou art my God. |
| 25我要為我把她種在這地上，我要愛憐羅魯阿瑪（不蒙愛憐者），我要對羅阿米（非我人民）說：「你是我的人民。」而她要說：「你是我的天主。」 | 25 |
