¹希則克雅王一聽這話，就撕破了自己的衣服，穿上苦衣，走進了上主的殿；	¹And it came to pass, when king Ezechias had heard it, that he rent his garments and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the Lord.
²然後打發厄里雅金家宰、舍布納書記和幾位老司祭，穿着苦衣，去見阿摩茲的兒子依撒意亞先知，	²And he sent Eliacim who was over the house, and Sobna the scribe, and the ancients of the priests covered with sackcloth, to Isaias the son of Amos the prophet.
³對他說：「希則克雅這樣說：今天是受困難、受責罰，受淩辱的日子！因為嬰兒到了要出生的時候，卻沒有產生的力量。	³And they said to him: Thus saith Ezechias: This day is a day of tribulation, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.
⁴但願上主你的天主聽見了那大將軍的話──即他的主子亞述王派他來辱罵永生的天主所說的話──願上主你的天主聽了那些話而加以懲罰。請你為剩下的人民祈禱罷！」	⁴It may be the Lord thy God will hear the words of Rabsaces, whom the king of the Assyrians his master hath sent to blaspheme the living God, and to reproach with words which the Lord thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.
⁵希則克雅王的臣僕來到了依撒意亞前，	⁵And the servants of Ezechias came to Isaias.
⁶依撒意亞對他們說：「你們要這樣對你們的主上說：上主這樣說：你聽到亞述王的僕人辱罵我的話，不要害怕！	⁶And Isaias said to them: Thus shall you say to your master: Thus saith the Lord: Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of the Assyrians have blasphemed me.
⁷看，我必叫他感到一種怕情，使他一聽到某種消息，就返回本國；我要使他在本國內喪身刀下。」	⁷Behold, I will send a spirit upon him, and he shall hear a message, and shall return to his own country, and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own country.
⁸大將軍回去時，正遇見亞述王去攻打里貝納，原來他已聽說君王離開了拉基士。	⁸And Rabsaces returned, and found the king of the Assyrians besieging Lobna. For he had heard that he was departed from Lachis.
⁹那時散乃黑黎布聽人說：雇士王提爾哈卡出來攻打他，就再派使者去見希則克雅，並吩咐說：	⁹And he heard say about Tharaca the king of Ethiopia: He is come forth to fight against thee. And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Ezechias, saying:
¹⁰「你們要這樣對猶大王希則克雅說：不要讓你所依賴的天主哄騙你說：耶路撒冷決不會落在亞述王手中！	¹⁰Thus shall you speak to Ezechias the king of Juda, saying: Let not thy God deceive thee, in whom thou trustest, saying: Jerusalem shall not be given into the hands of the king of the Assyrians.
¹¹看，你聽說過亞述的列王對各國所行的，將各國完全消滅了，你還能有救嗎？	¹¹Behold thou hast heard all that the kings of the Assyrians hare done to all countries which they have destroyed, and canst thou be delivered?
¹²我祖先消滅的所有民族如：哥倉、哈郎、勒責夫，以及在特拉撒爾的厄登子民，他們的神何嘗救了他們？	¹²Have the gods of the nations delivered them whom my fathers have destroyed, Gozam, and Haram, and Reseph, and the children of Eden, that were in Thalassar?
¹³哈瑪特王、阿帕得王、色法瓦因城的王、赫納王和依瓦王，他們現今都在那裏？」	¹³Where is the king of Emath, and the king of Arphad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Ana, and of Ava?
¹⁴希則克雅從使者手中接過信來，讀了以後，就走進上主的殿；將那信在上主面前展開，	¹⁴And Ezechias took the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it, and went up to the house of the Lord, and Ezechias spread it before the Lord.
¹⁵然後希則克雅懇求上主說：	¹⁵And Ezechias prayed to the Lord, saying:
¹⁶「萬軍的上主，坐在革魯賓上面的以色列的天主，惟獨你是地上萬國的天主，你創造了天地。	¹⁶O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, who sittest upon the cherubims, thou alone art the God of all the kingdoms of the earth, thou hast made heaven and earth.
¹⁷上主，請你側耳傾聽！上主，求你睜眼垂視！細聽那打發使者辱罵永生天主的散乃黑黎布的一切話！	¹⁷Incline, O Lord, thy ear, and hear: open, O Lord, thy eyes, and see, and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which he hath sent to blaspheme the living God.
¹⁸上主，的確，亞述的列王曾毀滅了所有的民族和他們的土地，	¹⁸For of a truth, O Lord, the kings of the Assyrians have laid waste lands, and their countries.
¹⁹將他們的神像投入火中，因為它們不是神，只是人手造成的木石的作品，所以能被消滅。	¹⁹And they have cast their gods into the fire, for they were not gods, but the works of men's hands, of wood and stone: and they broke them in pieces.
²⁰但是現今，上主，我們的天主，求你拯救我們脫離他的手，好使世上萬國都知道：惟獨你是上主天主。」	²⁰And now, O Lord our God, save us out of his hand: and let all the kingdoms of the earth know, that thou only art the Lord.
²¹那時，阿摩茲的兒子依撒意亞打發人去見希則克雅說：「上主以色列的天主這樣說：你既然為了亞述王散乃黑黎布而向我懇求，我已經俯聽了你。	²¹And Isaias the son of Amos sent to Ezechias, saying: Thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: For the prayer thou hast made to me concerning Sennacherib the king of the Assyrians:
²²這就是上主論他所說的話：熙雍貞女輕視你，嘲笑你；耶路撒冷少女在你背後搖頭！	²²This is the word which the Lord hath spoken of him: The virgin the daughter of Sion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn: the daughter of Jerusalem hath wagged the head after thee.
²³你辱罵詛咒的是誰？你提高聲音，仰起眼睛攻擊的是誰？是攻擊以色列的聖者。	²³Whom hast thou reproached, and whom hast thou blasphemed, and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thy eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel.
²⁴你藉你的僕人辱罵了吾主，你說：我用我的大批車輛，登上了叢山的極峰，到黎巴嫩的山頂，砍伐了其中最高的香柏，最好的青松；我衝入了人蹟罕到之處，走進了果木的林園。	²⁴By the hand of thy servants thou hast reproached the Lord: and hast said: With the multitude of my chariots I have gone up to the height of the mountains, to the top of Libanus: and I will out down its tall cedars, and its choice fir trees, and will enter to the top of its height, to the forest of its Carmel.
²⁵我掘了井，喝了外邦的水，用我的腳掌踏乾了埃及所有的河川。	²⁵I have digged, and drunk water, and have dried up with the sole of my foot, all the rivers shut up in banks.
²⁶難道你沒有聽見：很久以前我所計劃的，昔日我所決定的，現在我就實現，叫你毀壞堅城，化為廢墟，	²⁶Hast thou not heard what I have done to him of old? from the days of old I have formed it: and now I have brought it to effect: and it hath come to pass that hills fighting together, and fenced cities should be destroyed.
²⁷使城中的居民軟弱無力，驚惶失措，有如田野的青草，有如青綠的嫩苗，有如屋頂上被東風吹焦的小草。	²⁷The inhabitants of them were weak of hand, they trembled, and were confounded: they became like the grass of the field, and the herb of the pasture, and like the grass of the housetops, which withered before it was ripe.
²⁸你或起或坐，或出或入，以及對我的癲狂，我都知道。	²⁸I know thy dwelling, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.
²⁹因為你對我的暴怒，和你的狂囂，已達到我的耳鼓，所以我要把環子穿在你的鼻子上，把轡頭套在你的嘴上，由你來的路上將你牽回去。	²⁹When thou wast mad against me, thy pride came up to my ears: therefore I will put a ring in thy nose, and a bit between thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
³⁰這是給你的記號：今年你要吃自然所生的，明年你仍要吃自然所生的，第三年你們要播種收穫，栽種葡萄，吃園中的果實。	³⁰But to thee this shall be a sign: Eat this year the things that spring of themselves, and in the second year eat fruits: but in the third year sow and reap, and giant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
³¹猶大家所剩餘的人，仍要向下生根，往上結實。	³¹And that which shall be saved of the house of Juda, and which is left, shall take root downward, and shall bear fruit upward:
³²因為剩餘的人將由耶路撒冷而出，逃脫的人將從熙雍山而來：萬軍上主的熱誠必要成就這事。	³²For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a, remnant, and salvation from mount Sion: the zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this.
³³為此，上主論亞述王這樣說：他決不會進入這城，決不會向這城放射一箭，決不會持着盾牌，走近城下，造起土堆攻城。	³³Wherefore thus saith the Lord concerning the king of the Assyrians: He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow into it, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a trench about it.
³⁴他必要由來路回去，決不能進入這城：上主的斷語。	³⁴By the way that he came, he shall return, and into this city he shall not come, saith the Lord.
³⁵為了我自己，為了我的僕人達味，我必要保護拯救這城。」	³⁵And I will protect this city, and will save it for my own sake, and for the sake of David my servant.
³⁶於是上主的使者出來，在亞述的營裏殺了十八萬五千人。清晨人們起來，見遍地是死屍。	³⁶And the angel of the Lord went out, and slew in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and eighty-five thousand. And they arose in the morning, and behold they were all dead corpses.
³⁷亞述王散乃黑黎布於是拔營，班師回國，住在尼尼微。	³⁷And Sennacherib the king of the Assyrians went out and departed, and returned, and dwelt in Ninive.
³⁸當他在自己的神尼色洛客廟裏叩拜的時候，他的兒子阿德辣默肋客和沙勒責爾用劍刺殺了他，後逃到阿辣辣特地方去了。他的兒子厄撒哈冬繼他為王。	³⁸And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the temple of Nesroch his god, that Adramelech and Sarasar his sons slew him with the sword: and they fled into the land of Ararat, and Asarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.
