| 1同年，即猶大王漆德克雅即位之初第四年五月，基貝紅人阿組爾的兒子哈納尼雅先知，在上主殿裏當着司祭和全體人民對我說： | 1And it came to pass in that year, in the beginning of the reign of Sedecias king of Juda, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that Hananias the son of Azur, a prophet of Gabaon spoke to me, in the house of the Lord before the priests, and all the people, saying: |
| 2「萬軍的上主，以色列的天主這樣說：我已折斷了巴比倫王的軛。 | 2Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon. |
| 3還有兩年，我就要取回巴比倫王拿步高，由這地方取去，帶往巴比倫的一切上主殿宇的器皿，再放在這地方， | 3As yet two years of days, and I will cause all the vessels of the house of the Lord to be brought back into this place, which Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried them to Babylon. |
| 4且領回猶大王約雅金的兒子耶苛尼雅及一切流徙至巴比倫的猶大俘虜，再來到這方──上主的斷語──因為我要折斷巴比倫王的軛。」 | 4And I will bring back to this place Jechonias the son of Joakim king of Juda, and all the captives of Juda, that are gone to Babylon, saith the Lord: for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon. |
| 5耶肋米亞先知立即當着站在上主殿裏的司祭和全體人民，答覆了先知哈納尼雅。 | 5And Jeremias the prophet said to Hananias the prophet in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people that stood in the house of the Lord: |
| 6耶肋米亞先知說：「盼望是這樣！惟願上主這樣做！惟願上主實踐你預言的話，使上主殿宇的器皿和一切俘虜，從巴比倫再回到這地方來！ | 6And Jeremias the prophet said: Amen, the Lord do so: the Lord perform thy words, which thou hast prophesied: that the vessels may be brought again into the house of the Lord, and all the captives may return out of Babylon to this place. |
| 7不過請聽我當面願對你和全體人民要說的這一句話： | 7Nevertheless hear this word that I speak in thy ears, and in the ears of all the people: |
| 8自古以來，在我和你以前的先知，對多少地區和強盛的王國，曾預言過戰爭，饑饉和瘟疫。 | 8The prophets that have been before me, and before thee from the beginning, and have prophesied concerning many countries, and concerning great kingdoms, of war, and of affliction, and of famine. |
| 9至於預言和平的先知，只在這先知的話實現以後，纔可認出這先知確是上主派遣的。」 | 9The prophet that prophesied peace when his word shall come to pass, the prophet shall be known, whom the Lord hath sent in truth. |
| 10哈納尼雅先知便從耶肋米亞先知頸上取下木軛，折斷了， | 10And Hananias the prophet took the chain from the neck of Jeremias the prophet, and broke it. |
| 11然後對全體人民說：「上主這樣說：還有兩年，我就要這樣從一切民族的頸上，折斷巴比倫王拿步高的軛。」於是耶肋米亞先知只得自行離去。 | 11And Hananias spoke in the presence of all the people, saying: Thus saith the Lord: Even so will I break the yoke of Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon after two full years from off the neck of all the nations. |
| 12哈納尼雅先知從耶肋米亞先知頸上取下木軛折斷以後，即有上主的話傳給耶肋米亞說： | 12And Jeremias the prophet went his way. And the word of the Lord came to Jeremias, after that Hananias the prophet had broken the chain from off the neck of Jeremias the prophet, saying: |
| 13「你去告訴哈納尼雅說：上主這樣說：你折斷了木軛，但我必做鐵軛來代替。 | 13Go, and tell Hananias: Thus saith the Lord: Thou hast broken chains of wood, and thou shalt make for them chains of iron. |
| 14因為萬軍的上主，以色列的天主這樣說：我要將鐵軛放在這一切民族的頸上，使他們服事拿步高巴比倫王；他們該服事他，因為連田野的走獸我也交給了他。」 | 14For thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, to serve Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, and they shall serve him: moreover also I have given him the beasts of the earth. |
| 15耶肋米亞先知於是對哈納尼雅先知說：「哈納尼雅！請聽，上主並沒有派遣你，你竟使這人民相信謊言。 | 15And Jeremias the prophet said to Hananias the prophet: Hear now, Hananias: the Lord hath not sent thee, and thou hast made this people to trust in a lie. |
| 16為此，上主這樣說：看，我要把你趕出地面；今年你必要死，因為你說了背叛上主的話。」 | 16Therefore thus saith the Lord: Behold I will send thee away from off the face of the earth: this year shalt thou die: for thou hast spoken against the Lord. |
| 17哈納尼雅先知就死在那年七月。 | 17And Hananias the prophet died in that year, in the seventh month. |
