| 1耶肋米亞向全體人民說完上主他們的天主的一切話，即上主他們的天主派遣他來向他們轉告的這一切話以後， | 1And it came to pass, that when Jeremias had made an end of speaking to the people all the words of the Lord their God, for which the Lord their God had sent him to them, all these words: |
| 2瑪阿色雅的兒子阿匝黎雅和卡勒亞的兒子約哈南，以及一切傲慢反叛的人，就對耶肋米亞說：「你說謊；上主我們的天主並沒有派你說：你們不要去寄居在埃及； | 2Azarias the son of Osaias, and Johanan the son of Caree, and all the proud men, made answer, saying to Jeremias: Thou tellest a lie: the Lord our God hath not sent thee, saying: Go not into Egypt, to dwell there. |
| 3只是乃黎雅的兒子巴路克挑唆你反對我們，好將我們交在加色丁人手中，或殺或擄到巴比倫去。」 | 3But Baruch the son of Nerias setteth thee on against us, to deliver us into the hands of the Chaldeans, to kill us, and to cause us to be carried away captives to Babylon. |
| 4卡勒亞的兒子約哈南和眾部隊首領以及全體人民，沒有聽從上主的勸告，住在猶大地內。 | 4So Johanan the son of Caree, and all the captains of the soldiers, and all the people, obeyed not the voice of the Lord, to remain in the land of Juda. |
| 5卡勒亞的兒子約哈南和眾部隊首領，反而率領全體猶大遺民，即那些四散到各民族間，又回來住在猶大境內的人： | 5But Johanan the son of Caree, and all the captains of the soldiers took all the remnant of Juda, that were returned out of all nations, to which they had before been scattered, to dwell in the land of Juda: |
| 6男子和婦女，幼童和王家閨秀，以及衛隊長乃步匝辣當給沙番的孫子，阿希甘的兒子留下的人，連同先知耶肋米亞和乃黎雅的兒子巴路克， | 6Men, and women, and children, and the king's daughters, and every soul, which Nabuzardan the general had left with Godolias the son of Ahicam the son of Saphan, and Jeremias the prophet, and Baruch the son of Nerias. |
| 7到埃及地去了；沒有聽從上主的勸告，而來到塔黑培乃斯。 | 7And they went Into the land of Egypt, for they obeyed not the voice of the Lord: and they came as far as Taphnis. |
| 8在塔黑培乃斯上主有話傳給耶肋米亞說： | 8And the word of the Lord came to Jeremias in Taphnis, saying: |
| 9「你用手拿一些大石頭，當着猶大人眼前，藏在塔黑培乃斯法郎王宮門前石鋪地道下面， | 9Take great stones in thy hand, and thou shalt hide them in the vault that is under the brick wall at the gate of Pharao's house in Taphnis: in the sight of the men of Juda. |
| 10然後對他們說：萬軍的上主，以色列的天主這樣說：看，我必派人去領我的僕人巴比倫王拿步高來，在你藏的這些石頭上安置他的寶座，張設他的華蓋。 | 10And thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Behold I will send, and take Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon my servant: and I will set his throne over these stones which I have hid, and he shall set his throne over them. |
| 11他必來攻打埃及地，叫那該死的死，該擄的擄，該殺的殺； | 11And he shall come and strike the land of Egypt: such as are for death, to death: and such as are for captivity, to captivity: and such as are for the sword, to the sword. |
| 12必來放火焚燒埃及的神廟，燒毀或擄走廟內的神像；必來收取埃及地，如同牧人收取自己的外衣，最後安然離去。 | 12And he shall kindle a fire in the temples of the gods of Egypt, and he shall burn them, and he shall carry them away captives: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd putteth on his garment: and he shall go forth from thence in peace. |
| 13此外，他還要粉碎埃及地太陽神廟的石柱，放火焚燒埃及的神廟。」 | 13And he shall break the statues of the house of the sun, that are in the land of Egypt; and the temples of the gods of Egypt he shall burn with fire. |
