| 1我的氣息已斷，壽命已盡，而且墳墓已為我做好。 | 1My spirit shall be wasted, my days shall be shortened, and only the grave remaineth for me. |
| 2我豈不是成了笑罵的對象？我的眼睛豈不是在酸苦中過夜？ | 2I have not sinned, and my eye abideth in bitterness. |
| 3求你將我的抵押放在你那裏！誰還敢與我擊掌作保？ | 3Deliver me O Lord, and set me beside thee, and let any man's hand fight against me. |
| 4因為你蒙蔽了他們的心，不叫他們明白，他們纔不敢舉起手來。 | 4Thou hast set their heart far from understanding, therefore they shall not be exalted. |
| 5人請自己的朋友分享所有，但自己的子女卻餓的眼目昏花。 | 5He promiseth a prey to his companions, and the eyes of his children shall fail. |
| 6我成了人民取笑的資料，人人在我臉上可吐唾沬。 | 6He hath made me as it were a byword of the people, and I am an example before them. |
| 7我的眼睛因愁悶而昏花，我的肢體消失有如蔭影。 | 7My eye is dim through indignation, and my limbs are brought as it were to nothing. |
| 8正直人因此而驚異，無罪者憤起攻擊惡人。 | 8The just shall be astonished at this, and the innocent shall be raised up against the hypocrite. |
| 9義人堅持自己的道，手淨的人倍增勇氣。 | 9And the just man shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger. |
| 10你們眾人，請你們再回來，但在你們中我找不到一個智者。 | 10Wherefore be you all converted, and come, and I shall not find among you any wise man. |
| 11我的時日已過去，我志所謀，我心所愛，都已落空。 | 11My days have passed away, my thoughts are dissipated, tormenting my heart. |
| 12他們將黑夜變為白天，使光明靠近黑暗； | 12They have turned night into day, and after darkness I hope for light again. |
| 13若是我還有希望，即以陰府為我的家；在幽暗之處，舖設我的床榻。 | 13If I wait hell is my house, and I have made my bed in darkness. |
| 14我對墓穴說：你作我父！對蛆蟲說：你作我母，我妹！ | 14If I have said to rottenness: Thou art my father; to worms, my mother and my sister. |
| 15我的希望究在何處？我的幸福，有誰注意？ | 15Where is now then my expectation, and who considereth my patience? |
| 16這一切只有和我一同降入陰府，一同安息在灰塵中。 | 16All that I have shall go down into the deepest pit: thinkest thou that there at least I shall have rest? |
