若望福音	John
¹耶穌前行時，看見了一個生來瞎眼的人。	¹And Jesus passing by, saw a man, who was blind from his birth:
²他的門徒就問他說：「辣彼，誰犯了罪？是他，還是他的父母，竟使他生來瞎眼呢？」	²And his disciples asked him: Rabbi, who hath sinned, this man, or his parents, that he should be born blind?
³耶穌答覆說：「也不是他犯了罪，也不是他的父母，而是為叫天主的工作，在他身上顯揚出來。	³Jesus answered: Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents; but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
⁴趁着白天，我們應做派遣我來者的工作；黑夜來到，就沒有人能工作了。	⁴I must work the works of him that sent me, whilst it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
⁵當我在世界上的時候，我是世界的光。」	⁵As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
⁶耶穌說了這話以後，便吐唾沫在地上，用唾沫和了些泥，把泥抹在瞎子的眼上，	⁶When he had said these things, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and spread the clay on his eyes,
⁷對他說：「去，到史羅亞水池裏洗洗罷！」──史羅亞解說「被派遣的」──瞎子去了，洗了，回來就看見了。	⁷And said to him: Go, wash in the pool of Siloe, which is interpreted, Sent. He went therefore, and washed, and he came seeing.
⁸於是，鄰居和那些素來曾見他討飯的人，就說：「這不那曾坐着討飯的人麼？」	⁸The neighbours therefore, and they who had seen him before that he was a beggar, said: Is not this he that sat and begged? Some said: This is he.
⁹有的說：「就是這人」，有的說：「不，是另一個很相似他的人。」那人卻說：「就是我。」他們問他說：「你的眼睛究竟是怎樣開的呢？」	⁹But others said: No, but he is like him. But he said: I am he.
¹⁰他們問他說：「你的眼睛究竟是怎樣開的呢？」	¹⁰They said therefore to him: How were thy eyes opened?
¹¹他答覆說：「名叫耶穌的那個人，和了些泥，抹在我的眼上，給我說：你往史羅亞去洗洗罷；我去了，洗了，就看見了。」	¹¹He answered: That man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me: Go to the pool of Siloe, and wash. And I went, I washed, and I see.
¹²他們又問他說：「那個人在那裏？」他說：「我不知道。」	¹²And they said to him: Where is he? He saith: I know not.
¹³他們便將先前瞎眼的人，領到法利塞人那裏。	¹³They bring him that had been blind to the Pharisees.
¹⁴耶穌和泥開他眼睛的那天，正是安息日。	¹⁴Now it was the sabbath, when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
¹⁵於是，法利塞人又詰問他怎樣看見了。那人就向他們說：「他把泥放在我的眼上，我洗了，就看見了。」	¹⁵Again therefore the Pharisees asked him, how he had received his sight. But he said to them: He put clay upon my eyes, and I washed, and I see.
¹⁶法利塞人中有的說：「這人不是從天主來的，因為他不遵守安息日。」有的卻說：「一個罪人怎能行這樣的奇跡？」他們中間便發生了紛爭。	¹⁶Some therefore of the Pharisees said: This man is not of God, who keepeth not the sabbath. But others said: How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
¹⁷於是，他們又問瞎子說：「對於那開了你眼睛的人，你說什麼呢？」瞎子說：「他是一位先知。」	¹⁷They say therefore to the blind man again: What sayest thou of him that hath opened thy eyes? And he said: He is a prophet.
¹⁸可是，猶太人不肯相信他先是瞎子而後看見了，等到叫了復明者的父母來，	¹⁸The Jews then did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight,
¹⁹問他們說：「這是你們的兒子麼？你們說他生來就瞎眼麼？怎麼他現在竟看見了呢？」	¹⁹And asked them, saying: Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then doth he now see?
²⁰他的父母答覆說：「我們知道這是我們的兒子，也生來就瞎。	²⁰His parents answered them, and said: We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
²¹如今他究竟怎麼看見了，我們卻不知道；或者誰開了他的眼睛，我們也不知道。你們問他罷！他已經成年，會說自己的事了。」	²¹But how he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: ask himself: he is of age, let him speak for himself.
²²他的父母因為害怕猶太人，纔這樣說，因為猶太人早已議定：誰若承認耶穌是默西亞，就必被逐出會堂。	²²These things his parents said, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had already agreed among themselves, that if any man should confess him to be Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
²³為此，他的父母說：他已經成年，你們問他罷！	²³Therefore did his parents say: He is of age, ask himself.
²⁴於是法利塞人再把那先前瞎眼的人叫過來，向他說：「歸光榮於天主罷！我們知道這人是個罪人。」	²⁴They therefore called the man again that had been blind, and said to him: Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.
²⁵那人回答說：「他是不是罪人，我不知道；有一件事我知道：我曾是個瞎子，現在我卻看見了。」	²⁵He said therefore to them: If he be a sinner, I know not: one thing I know, that whereas I was blind, now I see.
²⁶他們又問他說：「他給你作了什麼？怎樣開了你的眼睛？」	²⁶They said then to him: What did he to thee? How did he open thy eyes?
²⁷他回答說：「我已經告訴了你們，你們不聽；為什麼又願意聽呢？莫非你們也願意做他的門徒麼？」	²⁷He answered them: I have told you already, and you have heard: why would you hear it again? will you also become his disciples?
²⁸他們辱罵他說：「你去做他的門徒好了！我們是梅瑟的門徒。	²⁸They reviled him therefore, and said: Be thou his disciple; but we are the disciples of Moses.
²⁹我們知道：天主曾給梅瑟說過話；至於這人，我們不知道他是從那裏來的。」	²⁹We know that God spoke to Moses: but as to this man, we know not from whence he is.
³⁰那人回答說：「這真奇怪！你們不知道他是從那裏來的，他卻開了我的眼睛。	³⁰The man answered, and said to them: Why, herein is a wonderful thing, that you know not from whence he is, and he hath opened my eyes.
³¹我們都曉得天主不俯聽罪人，只俯聽那恭敬天主，並承行他旨意的人。	³¹Now we know that God doth not hear sinners: but if a man be a server of God, and doth his will, him he heareth.
³²自古以來從未聽說：有人開了生來就是瞎子的眼睛。	³²From the beginning of the world it hath not been heard, that any man hath opened the eyes of one born blind.
³³這人若不是由天主來的，他什麼也不能作。」	³³Unless this man were of God, he could not do any thing.
³⁴他們卻向他說：「你整個生於罪惡中，竟來教訓我們？」便把他趕出去了。	³⁴They answered, and said to him: Thou wast wholly born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
³⁵耶穌聽說他們把他趕出去了，後來遇見了他，就給他說：「你信人子麼？」	³⁵Jesus heard that they had cast him out: and when he had found him, he said to him: Dost thou believe in the Son of God?
³⁶那人便回答說：「主，是誰，好使我去信他呢？」	³⁶He answered, and said: Who is he, Lord, that I may believe in him?
³⁷耶穌對他說：「你已看見他了，和你講話的就是！」	³⁷And Jesus said to him: Thou hast both seen him; and it is he that talketh with thee.
³⁸他遂說道：「主，我信。」遂俯伏朝拜了耶穌。	³⁸And he said: I believe, Lord. And falling down, he adored him.
³⁹耶穌遂說：「我是為了判別，纔到這世界上來，叫那些看不見的，看得見；叫那些看得見的，反而成為瞎子。」	³⁹And Jesus said: For judgment I am come into this world; that they who see not, may see; and they who see, may become blind.
⁴⁰有些和他在一起的法利塞人，一聽了這話，就說：「難道我們也是瞎子麼？」	⁴⁰And some of the Pharisees, who were with him, heard: and they said unto him: Are we also blind?
⁴¹耶穌回答說：「你們如果是瞎子，就沒有罪了；但你們如今說：我們看得見，你們的罪惡便存留下了。」	⁴¹Jesus said to them: If you were blind, you should not have sin: but now you say: We see. Your sin remaineth.
