¹眾稅吏及罪人們都來接近耶穌，為聽他講道。	¹Now the publicans and sinners drew near unto him to hear him.
²法利塞人及經師們竊竊私議說：「這個人交接罪人，又同他們吃飯。」	²And the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying: This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
³耶穌遂對他們設了這個比喻說：	³And he spoke to them this parable, saying:
⁴「你們中間那個人有一百隻羊，遺失了其中的一隻，而不把這九十九隻丟在荒野，去尋覓那遺失的一隻，直到找着呢？	⁴What man of you that hath an hundred sheep: and if he shall lose one of them, doth he not leave the ninety-nine in the desert, and go after that which was lost, until he find it?
⁵待找着了，就喜歡的把牠放在自己的肩膀上，	⁵And when he hath found it, lay it upon his shoulders, rejoicing:
⁶來到家中，請他的友好及鄰人來，給他們說：你們與我同樂罷！因為我那隻遺失了的羊，又找到了。	⁶And coming home, call together his friends and neighbours, saying to them: Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost?
⁷我告訴你們：同樣，對於一個罪人悔改，在天上所有的歡樂，甚於對那九十九個無須悔改的義人。」	⁷I say to you, that even so there shall be joy in heaven upon one sinner that doth penance, more than upon ninety-nine just who need not penance.
⁸「或者那個婦女，有十個『達瑪』，若遺失了一個『達瑪』，而不點上燈，打掃房屋，細心尋找，直到找着呢？	⁸Or what woman having ten groats; if she lose one groat, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently until she find it?
⁹待找着了，她就請女友及鄰人來說：你們與我同樂罷！因為我失去的那個『達瑪』又找到了。	⁹And when she hath found it, call together her friends and neighbours, saying: Rejoice with me, because I have found the groat which I had lost.
¹⁰我告訴你們：對於一個罪人悔改，在天主的使者前，也是這樣歡樂。」	¹⁰So I say to you, there shall be joy before the angels of God upon one sinner doing penance.
¹¹耶穌又說：「一個人有兩個兒子，	¹¹And he said: A certain man had two sons:
¹²那小的向父親說：父親，請把我應得的一分家產給我罷！父親遂把產業給他們分開了。	¹²And the younger of them said to his father: Father, give me the portion of substance that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his substance.
¹³過了不多幾天，小兒子把所有的一切都收拾起來，就往遠方去了。他在那裏荒淫度日，耗費他的資財。	¹³And not many days after, the younger son, gathering all together, went abroad into a far country: and there wasted his substance, living riotously.
¹⁴當他把所有的都揮霍盡了以後，那地方正遇着大荒年，他便開始窮困起來。	¹⁴And after he had spent all, there came a mighty famine in that country; and he began to be in want.
¹⁵他去投靠一個當地的居民；那人打發他到自己的莊田上去放豬。	¹⁵And he went and cleaved to one of the citizens of that country. And he sent him into his farm to feed swine.
¹⁶他恨不能拿豬吃的豆莢來果腹，可是沒有人給他。	¹⁶And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks the swine did eat; and no man gave unto him.
¹⁷他反躬自問：我父親有多少傭工，都口糧豐盛，我在這裏反要餓死！	¹⁷And returning to himself, he said: How many hired servants in my father's house abound with bread, and I here perish with hunger?
¹⁸我要起身到我父親那裏去，並且要給他說：父親！我得罪了天，也得罪了你。	¹⁸I will arise, and will go to my father, and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee:
¹⁹我不配再稱作你的兒子，把我當作你的一個傭工罷！	¹⁹I am not worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
²⁰他便起身到他父親那裏去了。他離的還遠的時候，他父親就看見了他，動了憐憫的心，跑上前去，撲到他的脖子上，熱情地親吻他。	²⁰And rising up he came to his father. And when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and running to him fell upon his neck, and kissed him.
²¹兒子向他說：父親，我得罪了天，也得罪了你，我不配再稱作你的兒子了！	²¹And the son said to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, I am not now worthy to be called thy son.
²²父親卻吩咐自己的僕人說：你們快拿出上等的袍子來給他穿上，把戒指戴在他手上，給他腳上穿上鞋，	²²And the father said to his servants: Bring forth quickly the first robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
²³再把那隻肥牛犢牽來宰了，我們應吃喝歡宴，	²³And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it, and let us eat and make merry:
²⁴因為我個兒子是死而復生，失而復得了；他們就歡宴起來。	²⁴Because this my son was dead, and is come to life again: was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
²⁵那時，他的長子正在田地裏，當他回來快到家的時候，聽見有奏樂及歌舞的歡聲，	²⁵Now his elder son was in the field, and when he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing:
²⁶遂叫一個僕人過來，問他這是什麼事。	²⁶And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
²⁷僕人向他說：你弟弟回來了，你父親因為見他無恙歸來，便為他宰了那隻肥牛犢。	²⁷And he said to him: Thy brother is come, and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe.
²⁸長子就生氣不肯進去，他父親遂出來勸解他。	²⁸And he was angry, and would not go in. His father therefore coming out began to entreat him.
²⁹他回答父親說：你看，這些年來我服事你，從未違背過你的命令，而你從未給過我一隻小山羊，讓我同我的朋友們歡宴；	²⁹And he answering, said to his father: Behold, for so many years do I serve thee, and I have never transgressed thy commandment, and yet thou hast never given me a kid to make merry with my friends:
³⁰但你這個兒子同娼妓們耗盡了你的財產，他一回來，你倒為他宰了那隻肥牛犢。	³⁰But as soon as this thy son is come, who hath devoured his substance with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
³¹父親給他說：孩子！你常同我在一起，凡我所有的，都是你的；	³¹But he said to him: Son, thou art always with me, and all I have is thine.
³²只因為你這個弟弟死而復生，失而復得，應當歡宴喜樂！」	³²But it was fit that we should make merry and be glad, for this thy brother was dead and is come to life again; he was lost, and is found.
