¹耶穌又對門徒們說：「曾有一個富翁，他有一個管家；有人在主人前告發這人揮霍了主人的財物。	¹And he said also to his disciples: There was a certain rich man who had a steward: and the same was accused unto him, that he had wasted his goods.
²主人便把他叫來，向他說：我怎麼聽說你有這樣的事？把你管理家務的帳目交出來，因為你不能再作管家了。	²And he called him, and said to him: How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship: for now thou canst be steward no longer.
³那管家自言自語道：主人要撤去我管家的職務，我可做什麼呢？掘地罷，我沒有氣力；討飯罷，我又害羞。	³And the steward said within himself: What shall I do, because my lord taketh away from me the stewardship? To dig I am not able; to beg I am ashamed.
⁴我知道我要做什麼，好叫人們，在我被撤去管家職務之後，收留我在他們家中。	⁴I know what I will do, that when I shall be removed from the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
⁵於是，他把主人的債戶一一叫來，給第一個說：你欠我主人多少？	⁵Therefore calling together every one of his lord's debtors, he said to the first: How much dost thou owe my lord?
⁶那人說：一百桶油。管家向他說：拿你的賬單，坐下快寫作五十。	⁶But he said: An hundred barrels of oil. And he said to him: Take thy bill and sit down quickly, and write fifty.
⁷隨後，又給另一個說：你欠多少？那人說：一百石麥子。管家向他說：拿你的賬單，寫作八十。	⁷Then he said to another: And how much dost thou owe? Who said: An hundred quarters of wheat. He said to him: Take thy bill, and write eighty.
⁸主人遂稱讚這個不義的管家，辦事精明：這些今世之子應付自己的世代，比光明之子更為精明。	⁸And the lord commended the unjust steward, forasmuch as he had done wisely: for the children of this world are wiser in their generation than the children of light.
⁹我告訴你們：要用不義的錢財交結朋友，為在你們匱乏的時候，好叫他們收留你們到永遠的帳幕裏。	⁹And I say to you: Make unto you friends of the mammon of iniquity; that when you shall fail, they may receive you into everlasting dwellings.
¹⁰在小事上忠信的，在大事上也忠信；在小事上不義的，在大事上也不義。	¹⁰He that is faithful in that which is least, is faithful also in that which is greater: and he that is unjust in that which is little, is unjust also in that which is greater.
¹¹那麼，如果你們在不義的錢財上不忠信，誰還把真實的錢財委托給你們呢？	¹¹If then you have not been faithful in the unjust mammon; who will trust you with that which is the true?
¹²如果你們在別人的財物上不忠信，誰還把屬於你們的交給你們呢？	¹²And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's; who will give you that which is your own?
¹³沒有一個家僕能事奉兩個主人的：他或是要恨這一個而愛那一個，或是要依附這一個而輕忽那一個：你們不能事奉天主而又事奉錢財。」	¹³No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
¹⁴愛財的法利塞人，聽了這一切話，便嗤笑耶穌。	¹⁴Now the Pharisees, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
¹⁵耶穌向他們說：「你們在人前自充義人，但是，天主知道你們的心，因為在人前是崇高的事，在天主前卻是可憎的。	¹⁵And he said to them: You are they who justify yourselves before men, but God knoweth your hearts; for that which is high to men, is an abomination before God.
¹⁶法律及先知到若翰為止，從此天主國的喜訊便傳揚開來，人人都應奮勉進入。	¹⁶The law and the prophets were until John; from that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every one useth violence towards it.
¹⁷然而天地過去，比法律的一筆一畫失落，還要容易。	¹⁷And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fall.
¹⁸凡休妻而另娶的，是犯奸淫；那娶人所休的妻子的，也是犯奸淫。」	¹⁸Every one that putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and he that marrieth her that is put away from her husband, committeth adultery.
¹⁹「有一個富家人，身穿紫紅袍及細麻衣，天天奢華地宴樂。	¹⁹There was a certain rich man, who was clothed in purple and fine linen; and feasted sumptuously every day.
²⁰另有一個乞丐，名叫拉匝祿，滿身瘡痍，躺臥在他的大門前。	²⁰And there was a certain beggar, named Lazarus, who lay at his gate, full of sores,
²¹他指望藉富家人桌上掉下的碎屑充饑，但只有狗來舔他的瘡痍。	²¹Desiring to be filled with the crumbs that fell from the rich man's table, and no one did give him; moreover the dogs came, and licked his sores.
²²那乞丐死了，天使把他送到亞巴郎的懷抱裏。那個富家人也死了，被人埋葬了。	²²And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. And the rich man also died: and he was buried in hell.
²³他在陰間，在痛苦中舉目一望，遠遠看見亞巴郎及他懷抱中的拉匝祿，	²³And lifting up his eyes when he was in torments, he saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom:
²⁴便喊叫說：父親亞巴郎！可憐我罷！請打發拉匝祿用他的指頭尖，蘸點水來涼潤我的舌頭，因為我在這火燄中極其慘苦。	²⁴And he cried, and said: Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, to cool my tongue: for I am tormented in this flame.
²⁵亞巴郎說：孩子，你應記得你活着的時候，已享盡了你的福，而拉匝祿同樣也受盡了苦。現在，他在這裏受安慰，而你應受苦了。	²⁵And Abraham said to him: Son, remember that thou didst receive good things in thy lifetime, and likewise Lazareth evil things, but now he is comforted; and thou art tormented.
²⁶除此之外，在我們與你們之間，隔着一個巨大的深淵，致使人即便願意，從這邊到你們那邊去也不能，從那邊到我們這邊來也不能。	²⁶And besides all this, between us and you, there is fixed a great chaos: so that they who would pass from hence to you, cannot, nor from thence come hither.
²⁷那人說：父親！那麼就請你打發拉匝祿到我父家去，	²⁷And he said: Then, father, I beseech thee, that thou wouldst send him to my father's house, for I have five brethren,
²⁸因為我有五個兄弟，叫他警告他們，免得他們也來到這痛苦的地方。	²⁸That he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torments.
²⁹亞巴郎說：他們自有梅瑟及先知，聽從他們好了。	²⁹And Abraham said to him: They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
³⁰他說：不，父親亞巴郎！倘若有人從死者中到了他們那裏，他們必會悔改。	³⁰But he said: No, father Abraham: but if one went to them from the dead, they will do penance.
³¹亞巴郎給他說：如果他們不聽從梅瑟及先知，縱使有人從死者中復活了，他們也必不信服。」	³¹And he said to him: If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they believe, if one rise again from the dead.
