¹於是，他們全體起來，把耶穌押送到比拉多面前，	¹And the whole multitude of them rising up, led him to Pilate.
²開始控告他說：「我們查得這個人煽惑我們的民族，阻止給凱撒納稅，且自稱為默西亞君王。」	²And they began to accuse him, saying: We have found this man perverting our nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, and saying that he is Christ the king.
³比拉多遂問耶穌說：「你是猶太人的君王嗎？」耶穌回答說：「你說的是。」	³And Pilate asked him, saying: Art thou the king of the Jews? But he answering, said: Thou sayest it.
⁴比拉多對司祭長及群眾說：「我在這人身上查不出什麼罪狀來。」	⁴And Pilate said to the chief priests and to the multitudes: I find no cause in this man.
⁵他們越發堅持說：「他在猶太全境，從加里肋亞起，直到這裏施教，煽動民眾。」	⁵But they were more earnest, saying: He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.
⁶比拉多聽了，就問耶穌是不是加里肋亞人。	⁶But Pilate hearing Galilee, asked if the man were of Galilee?
⁷既知道他屬黑落德統治，就把他轉送到黑落德那裏。這幾天，黑落德也在耶路撒冷。	⁷And when he understood that he was of Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him away to Herod, who was also himself at Jerusalem, in those days.
⁸黑落德見了耶穌，不勝欣喜，原來他早就願意看看耶穌，因為他曾聽說過關於耶穌的事，也指望他顯個奇蹟。	⁸And Herod, seeing Jesus, was very glad; for he was desirous of a long time to see him, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to see some sign wrought by him.
⁹於是，問了耶穌許多事，但耶穌什麼都不回答。	⁹And he questioned him in many words. But he answered him nothing.
¹⁰司祭長及經師們站在那裏，極力控告他。	¹⁰And the chief priests and the scribes stood by, earnestly accusing him.
¹¹黑落德及自己的侍衛鄙視他，戲笑他，並給他穿上華麗的長袍，把他解回比拉多那裏。	¹¹And Herod with his army set him at nought, and mocked him, putting on him a white garment, and sent him back to Pilate.
¹²黑落德與比拉多就在那一天彼此成了朋友，因為他們原先彼此有仇。	¹²And Herod and Pilate were made friends, that same day; for before they were enemies one to another.
¹³比拉多召集司祭長、官吏及人民來，	¹³And Pilate, calling together the chief priests, and the magistrates, and the people,
¹⁴對他們說：「你們給我送這個人來，好像是一個煽惑民眾的人。看，我在你們面前審問了他，而你們告他的罪狀，我在這人身上並查不出一條來；	¹⁴Said to them: You have presented unto me this man, as one that perverteth the people; and behold I, having examined him before you, find no cause in this man, in those things wherein you accuse him.
¹⁵而且，黑落德也沒有查出，因而又把他解回到我們這裏來，足見他沒有做過應死的事。	¹⁵No, nor Herod neither. For I sent you to him, and behold, nothing worthy of death is done to him.
¹⁶所以，我懲治他以後，便釋放他。」	¹⁶I will chastise him therefore, and release him.
¹⁷每逢節日他必須照例給他們釋放一個囚犯。	¹⁷Now of necessity he was to release unto them one upon the feast day.
¹⁸他們卻齊聲喊叫說：「除掉這個人，給我們釋放巴辣巴！」	¹⁸But the whole multitude together cried out, saying: Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas:
¹⁹巴辣巴原是為了在城中作亂殺人而下獄的。	¹⁹Who, for a certain sedition made in the city, and for a murder, was cast into prison.
²⁰比拉多又向他們聲明，願意釋放耶穌。	²⁰And Pilate again spoke to them, desiring to release Jesus.
²¹他們卻不斷地喊叫說：「釘在十字架上，釘他在十字架上！」	²¹But they cried again, saying: Crucify him, crucify him.
²²比拉多第三次對他們說：「這人到底作了什麼惡事！我在他身上查不出什麼應死的罪狀來。所以我懲治他以後，便釋放他。」	²²And he said to them the third time: Why, what evil hath this man done? I find no cause of death in him. I will chastise him therefore, and let him go.
²³但是，他們仍厲聲逼迫，要求釘他在十字架上。他們的喊聲，越來越厲害。	²³But they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified; and their voices prevailed.
²⁴比拉多遂宣判：照他們所請求的執行，	²⁴And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.
²⁵便釋放了他們所要求的那個因作亂殺人而下獄的犯人；至於耶穌，卻交出來，讓他們隨意處理。	²⁵And he released unto them him who for murder and sedition, had been cast into prison, whom they had desired; but Jesus he delivered up to their will.
²⁶他們把耶穌帶走的時候，就抓住一個從田間來的基勒乃人西滿，把十字架放在他肩上，叫他在耶穌後面背着。	²⁶And as they led him away, they laid hold of one Simon of Cyrene, coming from the country; and they laid the cross on him to carry after Jesus.
²⁷有許多人民及婦女跟隨着耶穌，婦女搥胸痛哭他。	²⁷And there followed him a great multitude of people, and of women, who bewailed and lamented him.
²⁸耶穌轉身向她們說：「耶路撒冷女子！你們不要哭我，但應哭你們自己及你們的子女，	²⁸But Jesus turning to them, said: Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not over me; but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
²⁹因為日子將到，那時，人要說：那荒胎的，那沒有生產過的胎，和沒有哺養過的乳，是有福的。	²⁹For behold, the days shall come, wherein they will say: Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that have not borne, and the paps that have not given suck.
³⁰那時，人要開始對高山說：倒在我們身上罷！對丘陵說：蓋起我們來罷！	³⁰Then shall they begin to say to the mountains: Fall upon us; and to the hills: Cover us.
³¹如果對於青綠的樹木，他們還這樣做，對於枯槁的樹木，又將怎樣呢？」	³¹For if in the green wood they do these things, what shall be done in the dry?
³²另有兩個凶犯，也被帶去，同耶穌一同受死。	³²And there were also two other malefactors led with him to be put to death.
³³他們既到了那名叫髑髏的地方，就在那裏把耶穌釘在十字架上；也釘了那兩個凶犯：一個在右邊，一個在左邊。	³³And when they were come to the place which is called Calvary, they crucified him there; and the robbers, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
³⁴耶穌說：「父啊！寬赦他們罷！因為他們不知道他們做的是什麼。」他們拈鬮分了他的衣服。	³⁴And Jesus said: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. But they, dividing his garments, cast lots.
³⁵民眾站着觀望。首領們嗤笑說：「別人，他救了；如果這人是天主的受傅者，被選者，就救他自己罷！」	³⁵And the people stood beholding, and the rulers with them derided him, saying: He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the elect of God.
³⁶兵士也戲弄他，前來把醋給他遞上去，	³⁶And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,
³⁷說：「如果你是猶太人的君王，就救你自己罷！」	³⁷And saying: If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.
³⁸在他上頭還有一塊用希臘、拉丁及希伯來文字寫的罪狀牌：「這是猶太人的君王。」	³⁸And there was also a superscription written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
³⁹懸掛着的凶犯中，有一個侮辱耶穌說：「你不是默西亞嗎？救救你自己和我們罷！」	³⁹And one of those robbers who were hanged, blasphemed him, saying: If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
⁴⁰另一個凶犯應聲責斥他說：「你既然受同樣的刑罰，連天主你都不怕嗎？	⁴⁰But the other answering, rebuked him, saying: Neither dost thou fear God, seeing thou art condemned under the same condemnation?
⁴¹這對我們是理所當然的，因為我們所受的，正配我們所行的；但是，這個人從未做過什麼不正當的事。」	⁴¹And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this man hath done no evil.
⁴²隨後說：「耶穌，當你來為王時，請你紀念我！」	⁴²And he said to Jesus: Lord, remember me when thou shalt come into thy kingdom.
⁴³耶穌給他說：「我實在告訴你：今天你就要與我一同在樂園裏。」	⁴³And Jesus said to him: Amen I say to thee, this day thou shalt be with me in paradise.
⁴⁴這時，大約已是第六時辰，遍地都昏黑了，直到第九時辰。	⁴⁴And it was almost the sixth hour; and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
⁴⁵太陽失去了光，聖所的帳幔從中間裂開，	⁴⁵And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
⁴⁶耶穌大聲呼喊說：「父啊！我把我的靈魂交托在你手中。」說完這話，便斷了氣。	⁴⁶And Jesus crying out with a loud voice, said: Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit. And saying this, he gave up the ghost.
⁴⁷百夫長看見所發生的事，遂光榮天主說：「這人，實在是一個義人。」	⁴⁷Now the centurion, seeing what was done, glorified God, saying: Indeed this was a just man.
⁴⁸所有同來看這景象的群眾，見了這些情形，都搥着胸膛，回去了。	⁴⁸And all the multitude of them that were come together to that sight, and saw the things that were done, returned striking their breasts.
⁴⁹所有與耶穌相識的人，和那些由加里肋亞隨侍他的婦女們，遠遠地站着，觀看這些事。	⁴⁹And all his acquaintance, and the women that had followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.
⁵⁰有一個人名叫若瑟，是一個議員，又是一個善良公正的人。	⁵⁰And behold there was a man named Joseph, who was a counsellor, a good and just man,
⁵¹他原是猶太阿黎瑪特雅城人，一向期待天主的國；他沒有贊同其他人的計謀和作為。	⁵¹(The same had not consented to their counsel and doings;) of Arimathea, a city of Judea; who also himself looked for the kingdom of God.
⁵²他去見比拉多，要求耶穌的遺體。	⁵²This man went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
⁵³他把遺體卸下，用殮布裏好，安葬在由巖石鑿成，而尚未葬過人的墓穴裏。	⁵³And taking him down, he wrapped him in fine linen, and laid him in a sepulchre that was hewed in stone, wherein never yet any man had been laid.
⁵⁴那天是預備日，安息日快到了。	⁵⁴And it was the day of the Parasceve, and the sabbath drew on.
⁵⁵從加里肋亞同耶穌來的那些婦女，在後邊跟着，觀看那墓穴，並觀看耶穌的遺體，是怎樣安葬的。	⁵⁵And the women that were come with him from Galilee, following after, saw the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.
⁵⁶她們回去，就預備下香料和香膏。安息日，她們依照誡命安息。	⁵⁶And returning, they prepared spices and ointments; and on the sabbath day they rested, according to the commandment.
