¹那時，分封侯黑落德聽到耶穌的名聲，	¹At the time Herod the Tetrarch heard the fame of Jesus.
²就對他的臣僕說：「這是洗者若翰，他由死者中復活了；為此，這些奇能纔在他身上運行。」	²And he said to his servants: This is John the Baptist: he is risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works shew forth themselves in him.
³原來，黑落德為了他兄弟斐理伯的妻子黑落狄雅的原故，逮捕了若翰，把他囚在監裏，	³For Herod had apprehended John and bound him, and put him into prison, because of Herodias, his brother's wife.
⁴因為若翰曾給他說：「你不可佔有這個女人！」	⁴For John said to him: It is not lawful for thee to have her.
⁵黑落德本有意殺他，但害怕群眾，因為他們都以若翰為先知。	⁵And having a mind to put him to death, he feared the people: because they esteemed him as a prophet.
⁶到了黑落德的生日，黑落狄雅的女兒，在席間跳舞，中悅了黑落德；	⁶But on Herod's birthday, the daughter of Herodias danced before them: and pleased Herod.
⁷為此，黑落德發誓許下，她無論求什麼，都要給她。	⁷Whereupon he promised with an oath, to give her whatsoever she would ask of him.
⁸她受了她母親的唆使後，就說：「請就地把若翰的頭放在盤子裏給我！」	⁸But she being instructed before by her mother, said: Give me here in a dish the head of John the Baptist.
⁹王十分憂鬱，但為了誓言和同席的人，就下令給她。	⁹And the king was struck sad: yet because of his oath, and for them that sat with him at table, he commanded it to be given.
¹⁰遂差人在監裏斬了若翰的頭，	¹⁰And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.
¹¹把頭放在盤子裏拿來，給了女孩；女孩便拿去給了她母親。	¹¹And his head was brought in a dish: and it was given to the damsel, and she brought it to her mother.
¹²若翰的門徒前來，領了屍身，埋葬了，然後去報告給耶穌。	¹²And his disciples came and took the body, and buried it, and came and told Jesus.
¹³耶穌一聽說這消息，就從那裏上船，私下退到荒野地方；群眾聽說了，就從各城裏步行跟了他去。	¹³Which when Jesus had heard, he retired from thence by boat, into a desert place apart, and the multitudes having heard of it, followed him on foot out of the cities.
¹⁴他一下船，看見一大夥群眾，便對他們動了憐憫的心，治好了他們的病人。	¹⁴And he coming forth saw a great multitude, and had compassion on them, and healed their sick.
¹⁵到了傍晚，門徒到他跟前說：「這地方是荒野，時候已不早了，請你遣散群眾罷！叫他們各自到村莊去買食物。」	¹⁵And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying: This is a desert place, and the hour is now past: send away the multitudes, that going into the towns, they may buy themselves victuals.
¹⁶耶穌卻對他們說：「他們不必去，你們給他們吃的罷！」	¹⁶But Jesus said to them, They have no need to go: give you them to eat.
¹⁷門徒對他說：「我們這裏什麼也沒有，只有五個餅和兩條魚。」	¹⁷They answered him: We have not here, but five loaves, and two fishes.
¹⁸耶穌說：「你們給我拿到這裏來！」	¹⁸He said to them: Bring them hither to me.
¹⁹遂又吩咐群眾坐在草地上，然後拿起那五個餅和兩條魚，望天祝福了；把餅擘開，遞給門徒，門徒再分給群眾。	¹⁹And when he had commanded the multitudes to sit down upon the grass, he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.
²⁰眾人吃了，也都飽了；然後他們把剩餘的碎塊收了滿滿十二筐。	²⁰And they did all eat, and were filled. And they took up what remained, twelve full baskets of fragments.
²¹吃的人數，除了婦女和小孩外，約有五千。	²¹And the number of them that did eat, was five thousand men, besides women and children.
²²耶穌即刻催迫門徒上船，在他以先到對岸去；這其間，他遣散了群眾。	²²And forthwith Jesus obliged his disciples to go up into the boat, and to go before him over the water, till he dismissed the people.
²³耶穌遣散了群眾以後，便私自上山祈禱去了。到了夜晚，他獨自一人在那裏。	²³And having dismissed the multitude, he went into a mountain alone to pray. And when it was evening, he was there alone.
²⁴船已離岸幾里了，受着波浪的顛簸，因為吹的是逆風。	²⁴But the boat in the midst of the sea was tossed with the waves: for the wind was contrary.
²⁵夜間四更時分，耶穌步行海上，朝着他們走來。	²⁵And in the fourth watch of the night, he came to them walking upon the sea.
²⁶門徒看見他在海上行走，就驚駭說：「是個妖怪。」並且嚇得大叫起來。	²⁶And they seeing him walk upon the sea, were troubled, saying: It is an apparition. And they cried out for fear.
²⁷耶穌立即向他們說道：「放心！是我。不必害怕！」	²⁷And immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying: Be of good heart: it is I, fear ye not.
²⁸伯多祿回答說：「主，如果是你，就叫我在水面上步行到你那裏罷！」	²⁸And Peter making answer, said: Lord, if it be thou, bid me come to thee upon the waters.
²⁹耶穌說：「來罷！」伯多祿遂從船上下來，走在水面上，往耶穌那裏去。	²⁹And he said: Come. And Peter going down out of the boat, walked upon the water to come to Jesus.
³⁰但他一見風勢很強，就害怕起來，並開始下沉，遂大叫說：「主，救我罷！」	³⁰But seeing the wind strong, he was afraid: and when he began to sink, he cried out, saying: Lord, save me.
³¹耶穌立刻伸手拉住他，對他說：「小信德的人哪！你為什麼懷疑？」	³¹And immediately Jesus stretching forth his hand took hold of him, and said to him: O thou of little faith, why didst thou doubt?
³²他們一上了船，風就停了。	³²And when they were come up into the boat, the wind ceased.
³³船上的人便朝拜他說：「你真是天主子。」	³³And they that were in the boat came and adored him, saying: Indeed thou art the Son of God.
³⁴他們渡到對岸，來到革乃撒勒地方。	³⁴And having passed the water, they came into the country of Genesar.
³⁵那地方的人一認出是耶穌，就打發人到周圍整個地方，把一切患病的人，都帶到耶穌跟前，	³⁵And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent into all that country, and brought to him all that were diseased.
³⁶求耶穌讓他們只摸摸他的衣邊；凡摸着的，就痊癒了。	³⁶And they besought him that they might touch but the hem of his garment. And as many as touched, were made whole.
