| 1法利塞人和撒杜塞人，為試探耶穌，前來求他給他們顯一個來自天上的徵兆。 | 1And there came to him the Pharisees and Sadducees tempting: and they asked him to shew them a sign from heaven. |
| 2耶穌回答他們說：「到了晚上，你們說：天色發紅，必要放晴。 | 2But he answered and said to them: When it is evening, you say, It will be fair weather, for the sky is red. |
| 3早上，天色又紅又黑，你們說：今日必有風雨；你們知道辨別天象，卻不能辨別時期的徵兆。 | 3And in the morning: Today there will be a storm, for the sky is red and lowering. You know then how to discern the face of the sky: and can you not know the signs of the times? |
| 4邪惡淫亂的世代要求徵兆，但除了約納先知的徵兆外，必不給它其他的徵兆。」耶穌遂離開他們走了。 | 4A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign: and a sign shall not be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. And he left them, and went away. |
| 5門徒往對岸去的時候，忘了帶餅： | 5And when his disciples were come over the water, they had forgotten to take bread. |
| 6耶穌就對他們說：「你們應當謹慎防備法利塞人和撒杜塞人的酵母。」 | 6Who said to them: Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees. |
| 7他們便彼此議論說：「因為我們沒有帶餅罷！」 | 7But they thought within themselves, saying: Because we have taken no bread. |
| 8耶穌知道了就說：「小信德的人！你們為什麼竟彼此議論你們沒有帶餅呢？ | 8And Jesus knowing it, said: Why do you think within yourselves, O ye of little faith, for that you have no bread? |
| 9你們還不明白嗎？你們不記得五個餅分給五千人，你們收拾了幾筐？ | 9Do you not yet understand, neither do you remember the five loaves among five thousand men, and how many baskets you took up? |
| 10七個餅分給四千人，你們又收拾了幾籃？ | 10Nor the seven loaves among four thousand men, and how many baskets you took up? |
| 11怎麼你們不明白，我不是指着餅向你們說的呢？你們應當防備法利塞人和撒杜塞人的酵母！」 | 11Why do you not understand that it was not concerning the bread I said to you: Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees? |
| 12他們這纔明白耶穌不是說防備餅的酵母，而是說防備法利塞人和撒杜塞人的教訓。 | 12Then they understood that he said not that they should beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees. |
| 13耶穌來到了斐理伯的凱撒勒雅境內，就問門徒說：「人們說人子是誰？」 | 13And Jesus came into the quarters of Caesarea Philippi: and he asked his disciples, saying: Whom do men say that the Son of man is? |
| 14他們說：「有人說是洗者若翰；有人說是厄里亞；也有人說是耶肋米亞，或先知中的一位。」 | 14But they said: Some John the Baptist, and other some Elias, and others Jeremias, or one of the prophets. |
| 15耶穌對他們說：「你們說我是誰？」 | 15Jesus saith to them: But whom do you say that I am? |
| 16西滿伯多祿回答說：「你是默西亞，永生天主之子。」 | 16Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God. |
| 17耶穌回答他說：「約納的兒子西滿，你是有福的，因為不是肉和血啟示了你，而是我在天之父。 | 17And Jesus answering, said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. |
| 18我再給你說：你是伯多祿（磐石），在這磐石上，我要建立我的教會，陰間的門決不能戰勝她。 | 18And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. |
| 19我要將天國的鑰匙交給你；凡你在地上所束縛的，在天上也要被束縛；凡你在地上所釋放的，在天上也要被釋放。」 | 19And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven. |
| 20他遂即嚴禁門徒，不要對任何人說他是默西亞。 | 20Then he commanded his disciples, that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ. |
| 21從那時起，耶穌就開紿向門徒說明：他必須上耶路撒冷去，要由長老、司祭長和經師們受到許多痛苦，並將被殺，但第三天要復活。 | 21From that time Jesus began to shew to his disciples, that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the ancients and scribes and chief priests, and be put to death, and the third day rise again. |
| 22伯多祿便拉耶穌到一邊，諫責他說：「主，千萬不可！這事絕不會臨到你身上！」 | 22And Peter taking him, began to rebuke him, saying: Lord, be it far from thee, this shall not be unto thee. |
| 23耶穌轉身對伯多祿說：「撒殫，退到我後面去！你是我的絆腳石，因為你所體會的，不是天主的事，而是人的事。」 | 23Who turning, said to Peter: Go behind me, Satan, thou art a scandal unto me: because thou savourest not the things that are of God, but the things that are of men. |
| 24於是，耶穌對門徒說：「誰若願意跟隨我，該棄絕自己，背着自己的十字架來跟隨我， | 24Then Jesus said to his disciples: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. |
| 25因為誰若願意救自己的性命，必要喪失性命；但誰若為我的原故，喪失自己的性命，必要獲得性命。 | 25For he that will save his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for my sake, shall find it. |
| 26人縱然賺得了全世界，卻賠上了自己的靈魂，為他有什麼益處？或者，人還能拿什麼作為自己靈魂的代價？ | 26For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul? |
| 27因為將來人子要在他父的光榮中同他的天使降來，那時，他要按照每人的行為予以賞報。 | 27For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels: and then will he render to every man according to his works. |
| 28我實在告訴你們：站在這裏的人中，就有些人在未嘗到死味以前，必要看見人子來到自己的國內。」 | 28Amen I say to you, there are some of them that stand here, that shall not taste death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. |
