¹到了早晨，眾司祭長和民間的長老就決議陷害耶穌，要把他處死，	¹And when morning was come, all the chief priests and ancients of the people took counsel against Jesus, that they might put him to death.
²遂把他綑綁了，解送給總督比拉多。	²And they brought him bound, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
³這時，那出賣耶穌的猶達斯見他已被判決，就後悔了，把那三十塊銀錢，退還給司祭長和長老，	³Then Judas, who betrayed him, seeing that he was condemned, repenting himself, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and ancients,
⁴說：「我出賣了無辜的血，犯了罪了！」他們卻說：「這與我們何干？是你自己的事！」	⁴Saying: I have sinned in betraying innocent blood. But they said: What is that to us? look thou to it.
⁵於是他把那些銀錢扔在聖所裏，就退出來，上吊死了。	⁵And casting down the pieces of silver in the temple, he departed: and went and hanged himself with an halter.
⁶司祭長拿了那些銀錢說：「這是血價，不可放入獻儀箱內。」	⁶But the chief priests having taken the pieces of silver, said: It is not lawful to put them into the corbona, because it is the price of blood.
⁷他們商議後，就用那銀錢買了陶工的田地，作為埋葬外鄉人用。	⁷And after they had consulted together, they bought with them the potter's field, to be a burying place for strangers.
⁸為此，直到今日稱那塊田地為「血田」。	⁸For this cause the field was called Haceldama, that is, The field of blood, even to this day.
⁹這就應驗了耶肋米亞先知所說的話：「他們拿了三十塊銀錢，即以色列子民為被賣的人所估定的價錢，	⁹Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremias the prophet, saying: And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was prized, whom they prized of the children of Israel.
¹⁰用這錢買了陶工的那塊田，如上主所吩咐我的。」	¹⁰And they gave them unto the potter's field, as the Lord appointed to me.
¹¹耶穌站在總督面前，總督便審問他說：「你是猶太人的君王嗎？」耶穌答說：「你說的是。」	¹¹And Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, saying: Art thou the king of the Jews? Jesus saith to him: Thou sayest it.
¹²當司祭長和長老控告他時，他什麼也不回答。	¹²And when he was accused by the chief priests and ancients, he answered nothing.
¹³於是比拉多對他說：「你沒有聽見，他們提出多少證據告你嗎？」	¹³Then Pilate saith to him: Dost not thou hear how great testimonies they allege against thee?
¹⁴耶穌連一句話也沒有回答他，以致總督大為驚異。	¹⁴And he answered him to never a word; so that the governor wondered exceedingly.
¹⁵每逢節日，總督慣常給民眾釋放一個他們願意釋放的囚犯。	¹⁵Now upon the solemn day the governor was accustomed to release to the people one prisoner, whom they would.
¹⁶那時，正有一個出名的囚犯，名叫巴辣巴。	¹⁶And he had then a notorious prisoner, that was called Barabbas.
¹⁷當他們聚集在一起時，比拉多對他們說：「你們願意我給你們釋放那一個？巴辣巴，或是那稱為默西亞的耶穌？」	¹⁷They therefore being gathered together, Pilate said: Whom will you that I release to you, Barabbas, or Jesus that is called Christ?
¹⁸原來他知道，他們是由於嫉忌纔把他解送來的。	¹⁸For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.
¹⁹比拉多正坐堂時，他的妻子差人到他跟前說：「你千萬不要干涉那義人的事，因為我為他，今天在夢中受了許多苦。」	¹⁹And as he was sitting in the place of judgment, his wife sent to him, saying: Have thou nothing to do with that just man; for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.
²⁰司祭長和長老卻說服了民眾，叫他們要求巴辣巴，而除掉耶穌。	²⁰But the chief priests and ancients persuaded the people, that they should ask Barabbas, and make Jesus away.
²¹總督又向他們發言說：「這兩個人中，你們願意我給你們釋放那一個？」他們說：「巴辣巴。」	²¹And the governor answering, said to them: Whether will you of the two to be released unto you? But they said, Barabbas.
²²比拉多對他們說；「那麼，對於那稱為默西亞的耶穌我該怎麼辦？」眾人答說：「該釘他在十字架上。」	²²Pilate saith to them: What shall I do then with Jesus that is called Christ? They say all: Let him be crucified.
²³總督問說：「他究竟作了什麼惡事？」他們越發喊說：「該釘他在十字架上。」	²³The governor said to them: Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying: Let him be crucified.
²⁴比拉多見事毫無進展，反倒更為混亂，就拿水，當着民眾洗手說：「對這義人的血，我是無罪的，你們自己負責罷！」	²⁴And Pilate seeing that he prevailed nothing, but that rather a tumult was made; taking water washed his hands before the people, saying: I am innocent of the blood of this just man; look you to it.
²⁵全體百姓回答說：「他的血歸在我們和我們的子孫身上！」	²⁵And the whole people answering, said: His blood be upon us and our children.
²⁶於是，比拉多給他們釋放了巴辣巴；至於耶穌，把他鞭打了以後，交給人釘在十字架上。	²⁶Then he released to them Barabbas, and having scourged Jesus, delivered him unto them to be crucified.
²⁷那時，總督的兵士把耶穌帶到總督府內，召集了全隊圍着他，	²⁷Then the soldiers of the governor taking Jesus into the hall, gathered together unto him the whole band;
²⁸脫去了他的衣服，給他披上一件紫紅色的外氅；	²⁸And stripping him, they put a scarlet cloak about him.
²⁹又用荊棘編了一個茨冠，戴在他頭上，拿一根蘆葦放在他右手裏；然後跪在他前，戲弄他說：「猶太人的君王，萬歲！」	²⁹And platting a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand. And bowing the knee before him, they mocked him, saying: Hail, king of the Jews.
³⁰隨後向他吐唾沫，拿起蘆葦來敲他的頭。	³⁰And spitting upon him, they took the reed, and struck his head.
³¹戲弄完了，就給他脫去外氅，又給他穿上他自己的衣服，帶他去釘在十字架上。	³¹And after they had mocked him, they took off the cloak from him, and put on him his own garments, and led him away to crucify him.
³²他們出來時，遇見一個基勒乃人，名叫西滿，就強迫他背耶穌的十字架。	³²And going out, they found a man of Cyrene, named Simon: him they forced to take up his cross.
³³到了一個名叫哥耳哥達的地方，即稱為「髑髏」的地方，	³³And they came to the place that is called Golgotha, which is the place of Calvary.
³⁴他們就拿苦艾調和的酒給他喝；他只嘗了嘗，卻不願意喝。	³⁴And they gave him wine to drink mingled with gall. And when he had tasted, he would not drink.
³⁵他們把他釘在十字架上以後，就拈鬮分了他的衣服；	³⁵And after they had crucified him, they divided his garments, casting lots; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: They divided my garments among them; and upon my vesture they cast lots.
³⁶然後坐在那裏看守他。	³⁶And they sat and watched him.
³⁷在他的頭上安放了他的罪狀牌，寫着說：「這是耶穌，猶太人的君王。」	³⁷And they put over his head his cause written: This is Jesus the King of the Jews.
³⁸當時與他一起被釘在十字架上的，還有兩個強盜：一個在右邊，一個在左邊。	³⁸Then were crucified with him two thieves: one on the right hand, and one on the left.
³⁹路過的人都搖頭辱罵他說：	³⁹And they that passed by, blasphemed him, wagging their heads,
⁴⁰「你這拆毀聖殿而三日內重建起來的，救你自己罷！如果你是天主子，從十字架上下來罷！」	⁴⁰And saying: Vah, thou that destroyest the temple of God, and in three days dost rebuild it: save thy own self: if thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
⁴¹司祭長和經師與長老們也同樣戲弄說：	⁴¹In like manner also the chief priests, with the scribes and ancients, mocking, said:
⁴²「他救了別人，卻救不了自己；他既是以色列君王：如今從十字架上下來罷！我們就信他。	⁴²He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the king of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
⁴³他信賴天主，天主如喜歡他，如今就該救他，因為他說過：我是天主子。」	⁴³He trusted in God; let him now deliver him if he will have him; for he said: I am the Son of God.
⁴⁴同他一起被釘在十字架上的強盜，也這樣譏誚他。	⁴⁴And the selfsame thing the thieves also, that were crucified with him, reproached him with.
⁴⁵從第六時辰起，直到第九時辰，遍地都黑暗了。	⁴⁵Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over the whole earth, until the ninth hour.
⁴⁶約莫第九時辰，耶穌大聲喊說：「厄里、厄里，肋瑪撒巴黑塔尼！」就是說：「我的天主，我的天主！你為什麼捨棄了我？」	⁴⁶And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying: Eli, Eli, lamma sabacthani? that is, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
⁴⁷站在那裏的人中，有幾個聽見了就說：「這人呼喚厄里亞呢！」	⁴⁷And some that stood there and heard, said: This man calleth Elias.
⁴⁸他們中遂有一個立即跑去，拿了海綿，浸滿了醋，綁在蘆葦上，遞給他喝。	⁴⁸And immediately one of them running took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar; and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
⁴⁹其餘的人卻說：「等一等，我們看，是否厄里亞來救他！」	⁴⁹And the others said: Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to deliver him.
⁵⁰耶穌又大喊一聲，遂交付了靈魂。	⁵⁰And Jesus again crying with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
⁵¹看聖所的帳幔，從上到下分裂為二，大地震動，巖石崩裂，	⁵¹And behold the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top even to the bottom, and the earth quaked, and the rocks were rent.
⁵²墳墓自開，許多長眠的聖者的身體復活了。	⁵²And the graves were opened: and many bodies of the saints that had slept arose,
⁵³在耶穌復活後，他們由墳墓出來，進入聖城，發顯給許多人。	⁵³And coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, came into the holy city, and appeared to many.
⁵⁴百夫長和同他一起看守耶穌的人，一見地動和所發生的事，就非常害怕說：「這人真是天主子！」	⁵⁴Now the centurion and they that were with him watching Jesus, having seen the earthquake, and the things that were done, were sore afraid, saying: Indeed this was the Son of God.
⁵⁵有許多婦女在那裏從遠處觀望，她們從加里肋亞就跟隨了耶穌為服事他。	⁵⁵And there were there many women afar off, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:
⁵⁶其中有瑪利亞瑪達肋納，雅各伯和若瑟的母親瑪利亞與載伯德兒子的母親。	⁵⁶Among whom was Mary Magdalen, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
⁵⁷到了傍晚，來了一個阿黎瑪特雅的富人，名叫若瑟，他也是耶穌的門徒。	⁵⁷And when it was evening, there came a certain rich man of Arimathea, named Joseph, who also himself was a disciple of Jesus.
⁵⁸這人去見比拉多，請求耶穌的遺體；比拉多就下令交給他。	⁵⁸He went to Pilate, and asked the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded that the body should be delivered.
⁵⁹若瑟領了耶穌的遺體，就用潔白的殮布將它包好，	⁵⁹And Joseph taking the body, wrapped it up in a clean linen cloth.
⁶⁰安放在為自己於巖石間所鑿的新墓穴內；並把一塊大石頭滾到墓口，就走了。	⁶⁰And laid it in his own new monument, which he had hewed out in a rock. And he rolled a great stone to the door of the monument, and went his way.
⁶¹在那裏還有瑪利亞瑪達肋納和另外一個瑪利亞，對着墳墓坐着。	⁶¹And there was there Mary Magdalen, and the other Mary sitting over against the sepulchre.
⁶²第二天，即預備日以後的那天，司祭長和法利塞人同來見比拉多說：	⁶²And the next day, which followed the day of preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees came together to Pilate,
⁶³「大人，我們記得那個騙子活着的時候曾說過：三天以後我要復活。	⁶³Saying: Sir, we have remembered, that that seducer said, while he was yet alive: After three days I will rise again.
⁶⁴為此，請你下令，把守墳墓直到第三天；怕他的門徒來了，把他偷去，而對百姓說：他從死人中復活了。那最後的騙局就比先前的更壞了！」	⁶⁴Command therefore the sepulchre to be guarded until the third day: lest perhaps his disciples come and steal him away, and say to the people: He is risen from the dead; and the last error shall be worse than the first.
⁶⁵比拉多對他們說：「你們可得一隊衛兵；你們去，你們所知道的，好好看守。」	⁶⁵Pilate saith to them: You have a guard; go, guard it as you know.
⁶⁶他們就去，在石上加了封條，派駐衛兵把守墳墓。	⁶⁶And they departing, made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting guards.
