¹米黎盎和亞郎為了梅瑟所娶的雇士女人出言反對梅瑟，因為他娶了個雇士女人，	¹And Mary and Aaron spoke against Moses, because of his wife the Ethiopian,
²於是說：「上主豈只與梅瑟交談，不是也與我們交談過！」上主聽見了這話。	²And they said: Hath the Lord spoken by Moses only? hath he not also spoken to us in like manner? And when the Lord heard this,
³梅瑟為人十分謙和，超過地上所有的人。	³(For Moses was a man exceeding meek above all men that dwelt upon earth)
⁴上主忽然向梅瑟、亞郎和米黎盎說：「你們三人到會幕那裏去。」他們三人就去了。	⁴Immediately he spoke to him, and to Aaron and Mary: Come out you three only to the tabernacle of the covenant. And when they were come out,
⁵上主乘雲柱降下，停在會幕門口，叫亞郎和米黎盎；他們兩人就走向前去，	⁵The Lord came down in a pillar of the cloud, and stood in the entry of the tabernacle calling to Aaron and Mary. And when they were come,
⁶上主說：「你們聽我說：若你們中有一位是先知，我要在神視中顯示給他，在夢中與他談話；	⁶He said to them: Hear my words: if there be among you a prophet of the Lord, I will appear to him in a vision, or I will speak to him in a dream.
⁷但對我的僕人梅瑟卻不是這樣，他在我全家中是最忠信可靠的。	⁷But it is not so with my servant Moses a who is most faithful in all my house:
⁸我面對面與他明明說話，不藉謎語，並讓他望見上主的形像。為什麼你們竟不怕出言反對我的僕人梅瑟？」	⁸For I speak to him mouth to mouth: and plainly, and not by riddles and figures doth he see the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak ill of my servant Moses?
⁹上主對他們發着怒走了。	⁹And being angry with them he went away:
¹⁰彩雲一離開會幕，看，米黎盎就生了癩病，像雪那樣白；亞郎轉身看見米黎盎生了癩病，	¹⁰The cloud also that was over the tabernacle departed: and behold Mary appeared white as snow with a leprosy. And when Aaron had looked on her, and saw her all covered with leprosy,
¹¹遂對梅瑟說：「我主，懇求你，別使我們因一時愚昧所犯之罪而受罰！	¹¹He said to Moses: I beseech thee, my lord, lay not upon us this sin, which we have foolishly committed:
¹²求你別讓她像個胎死腹中的人，一出娘胎，肉身就已腐爛了一半。」	¹²Let her not be as one dead, and as an abortive that is cast forth from the mother's womb. Lo, now one half of her flesh is consumed with the leprosy.
¹³梅瑟遂向上主呼求說：「天主，我求你治好她罷！」	¹³And Moses cried to the Lord, saying: O God, I beseech thee heal her.
¹⁴上主對梅瑟說：「若她的父親在她面上吐唾沬，她豈不要七天忍此羞辱，七天把她隔離在營外，然後才讓她回來？」	¹⁴And the Lord answered him: If her father had spitten upon her face, ought she not to have been ashamed for seven days at least? Let her be separated seven days without the camp, and after wards she shall be called again.
¹⁵於是米黎盎七天之久，被隔離在營外；民眾也沒有起程，直到米黎盎回來。	¹⁵Mary therefore was put out of the camp seven days: and the people moved not from that place until Mary was called again.
¹⁶以後，民眾由哈茲洛特起程出發，在帕蘭曠野紮了營。	¹⁶
