| 1智慧建造了房舍，雕琢了七根石柱， | 1Wisdom hath built herself a house, she hath hewn her out seven pillars. |
| 2宰殺了牲畜，配製了美酒，舖設了飯桌， | 2She hath slain her victims, mingled her wine, and set forth her table. |
| 3派出自己的使女，在城市高處吶喊： | 3She hath sent her maids to invite to the tower, and to the walls of the city: |
| 4「誰是無知的，請轉身到這裏來！」她對愚鈍的人說： | 4Whosoever is a little one, let him come to me. And to the unwise she said: |
| 5「你們來，吃我的食糧，飲我配製的酒！ | 5Come, eat my bread, and drink the wine which I have mingled for you. |
| 6你們應放棄無知，好使你們得以生存，並在明智的道路上邁進。」 | 6Forsake childishness, and live, and walk by the ways of prudence. |
| 7誰矯正輕狂的人，只有自招羞辱；誰責斥邪惡的人，只有自找凌辱。 | 7He that teacheth a scorner, doth an injury to himself: and he that rebuketh a wicked man, getteth himself a blot. |
| 8你不要責斥輕狂的人，免得他恨你；卻要責斥明智的人，他必會愛你。 | 8Rebuke not a scorner lest he hate thee. Rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. |
| 9你若指教明智的人，他必更明智；你若教訓正義的人，他必更有見識。 | 9Give an occasion to a wise man, and wisdom shall be added to him. Teach a just man, and he shall make haste to receive it. |
| 10敬畏上主是智慧的肇基；認識至聖者就是睿智。 | 10The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is prudence. |
| 11藉着我，你的歲月纔可增多，你的壽命纔可延長。 | 11For by me shall thy days be multiplied, and years of life shall be added to thee. |
| 12你若有智慧，你必蒙受其惠；你若是輕狂也只有自食其果。 | 12If thou be wise, thou shalt be so to thyself: and if a scorner, thou alone shalt bear the evil. |
| 13愚昧太太，浮燥愚蠢，一無所知。 | 13A foolish woman and clamorous, and full of allurements, and knowing nothing at all, |
| 14她坐在自家門前，坐在城內高處的座位上， | 14Sat at the door of her house, upon a seat, in a high place of the city, |
| 15向一往直前的路人喊說： | 15To call them that pass by the way, and go on their journey: |
| 16「誰是無知的，請轉身到這裏來！」向愚鈍的人說： | 16He that is a little one, let him turn to me. And to the fool she said: |
| 17「偷來的水，更香甜；背地吃的餅，更有味。」 | 17Stolen waters are sweeter, and hid den bread is more pleasant. |
| 18他卻不知冥域正在那裏，她的客人都在陰府的深處。 | 18And he did not know that giants are there, and that her guests are in the depths of hell. |
