| 1對信德軟弱的人，你們該容納，不要為意見爭論。 | 1Now him that is weak in faith, take unto you: not in disputes about thoughts. |
| 2有人以為什麼都可吃，但那軟弱的人只吃蔬菜。 | 2For one believeth that he may eat all things: but he that is weak, let him eat herbs. |
| 3那吃的，不要輕視不吃的；不吃的，也不要判斷吃的，因為天主已接納了他。 | 3Let not him that eateth, despise him that eateth not: and he that eateth not, let him not judge him that eateth. For God hath taken him to him. |
| 4你是誰，你竟敢判斷別人的家僕？他或站立，或跌倒，都由他自己的主人管；但他必站得住，因為主能夠使他站得住。 | 4Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? To his own lord he standeth or falleth. And he shall stand: for God is able to make him stand. |
| 5有人以為這日比那日強，但也有人以為日日都一樣；各人對自己的心思應堅信不疑纔好！ | 5For one judgeth between day and day: and another judgeth every day: let every man abound in his own sense. |
| 6那遵守日子的，是為主而遵守；那吃的，是為主而吃，因為他感謝天主；那不吃的，也是為主而不吃，他也感謝天主。 | 6He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord. And he that eateth, eateth to the Lord: for he giveth thanks to God. And he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth thanks to God. |
| 7因為我們中沒有一人是為自己而生的，也沒有一人是為自己而死的； | 7For none of us liveth to himself; and no man dieth to himself. |
| 8因為我們或者生，是為主而生，或者死，是為主而死；所以我們或生或死，都是屬於主。 | 8For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; or whether we die, we die unto the Lord. Therefore, whether we live, or whether we die, we are the Lord's. |
| 9因為基督死而復生了，正是為作生者和死者的主。 | 9For to this end Christ died and rose again; that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. |
| 10你為什麼判斷你的弟兄？或者，你為什麼輕視你的弟兄？我們眾人都要站在天主的審判台前， | 10But thou, why judgest thou thy brother? or thou, why dost thou despise thy brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. |
| 11因為經上記載說：「我指着我自己起誓──上主的誓語：眾膝都要向我跪拜，眾舌都要讚頌天主。」 | 11For it is written: As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. |
| 12這樣看起來，我們每人都要向天主交自己的賬。 | 12Therefore every one of us shall render account to God for himself. |
| 13因此，我們不可再彼此判斷了，反之，你們應拿定主意：總不可使弟兄失足或跌倒。 | 13Let us not therefore judge one another any more. But judge this rather, that you put not a stumblingblock or a scandal in your brother's way. |
| 14在耶穌基督內，我知道，並深信：沒有什麼本身是不潔的；除非有人想什麼是不潔的，那東西為他纔是不潔的。 | 14I know, and am confident in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself; but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. |
| 15如果你因着食物使你的兄弟心亂，你便不是按照愛德行事。基督為他死了，你不可因着你的食物使他喪亡， | 15For if, because of thy meat, thy brother be grieved, thou walkest not now according to charity. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. |
| 16所以你們不可使你們的優點受到誹謗。 | 16Let not then our good be evil spoken of. |
| 17其實，天主的國並不在於吃喝，而在於義德、平安以及在聖神內的喜樂； | 17For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but justice, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. |
| 18凡是按這原則事奉基督的，纔為天主所喜悅，為眾人所稱許； | 18For he that in this serveth Christ, pleaseth God, and is approved of men. |
| 19所以我們該追求平安的事，以及彼此建立的事， | 19Therefore let us follow after the things that are of peace; and keep the things that are of edification one towards another. |
| 20不可為了食物的原故，而摧毀天主的工程。一切固然都是潔淨的，但若人吃了，能使人失足，這為他便是惡事了。 | 20Destroy not the work of God for meat. All things indeed are clean: but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence. |
| 21更好是不吃肉，不喝酒，不作什麼能使你的弟兄跌倒的事。 | 21It is good not to eat flesh, and not to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother is offended, or scandalized, or made weak. |
| 22你有信心，就在天主前為你自己保有罷！那在自己認為可行的事上，問心無愧，纔是有福的。 | 22Hast thou faith? Have it to thyself before God. Blessed is he that condemneth not himself in that which he alloweth. |
| 23但誰若懷着疑心吃了，便被判有罪，因為這不是出於信心做的：凡不出於信心做的，就是罪。 | 23But he that discerneth, if he eat, is condemned; because not of faith. For all that is not of faith is sin. |
