| 1萬望你是我的兄弟，吮過我母親的乳房，好叫我在外邊遇見你時，能親吻你，而不致受人輕視。 | 1Who shall give thee to me for my brother, sucking the breasts of my mother, that I may find thee without, and kiss thee, and now no man may despise me? |
| 2我要引領你走進我母親的家，進入懷孕我者的內室；給你喝調香的美酒，石榴的甘釀。 | 2I will take hold of thee, and bring thee Into my mother's house: there thou shalt teach me, and I will give thee a cup of spiced wine and new wine of my pomegranates. |
| 3他的左手在我頭下，他的右手緊抱着我。 | 3His left hand under my head, and his right hand shall embrace me. |
| 4耶路撒冷女郎！我懇求你們，不要驚醒，也不要喚醒我的愛，讓她自便罷！ | 4I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that you stir not up, nor awake my love till she please. |
| 5從曠野裏上來，那偎依着自己的愛人的，是誰？在蘋果樹下我喚醒了你，在那裏你的母親懷孕了你，在那裏生養你的，為你受了產痛。 | 5Who is this that cometh up from the desert, flowing with delights, leaning upon her beloved? Under the apple tree I raised thee up: there thy mother was corrupted, there she was defloured that bore thee. |
| 6請將我有如印璽，放在你的心上，有如印璽，放在你肩上，因為愛情猛如死亡，妒愛頑如陰府：它的焰是火焰，是上主的火燄。 | 6Put me as a seal upon thy heart, as a seal upon thy arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy as hard as hell, the lamps thereof are fire and flames. |
| 7洪流不能熄滅愛情，江河不能將它沖去，如有人獻出全副家產想購買愛情，必受人輕視。 | 7Many waters cannot quench charity, neither can the floods drown it: if a man should give all the substance of his house for love, he shall despise it as nothing. |
| 8我們的妹妹尚小，還沒有乳房；到了她議婚之日，為我們的妹妹，我們將作什麼？ | 8Our sister is little, and hath no breasts. What shall we do to our sister in the day when she is to be spoken to? |
| 9她若是牆，我們就在上面建造銀垛；她若是門，我們就用香柏木閂來關鎖。 | 9If she be a wall: let us build upon it bulwarks of silver: if she be a door, let us join it together with boards or cedar. |
| 10我是一道牆，我的乳房如同塔。我在他眼裏，實如獲得和平的女郎。 | 10I am a wall: and my breasts are as a tower since I am become in his presence as one finding peace. |
| 11撒羅滿在巴耳哈孟有個葡萄園，他將這葡萄園委托給看守的人；每人為園中的果子，應交一千兩銀子。 | 11The peaceable had a vineyard, in that which hath people: he let out the same to keepers, every man bringeth for the fruit thereof a thousand pieces of silver. |
| 12那屬我的葡萄園，就在我面前；撒羅滿！一千兩銀子歸你，二百兩歸看守果子的人。 | 12My vineyard is before me. A thousand are for thee, the peaceable, and two hundred for them that keep the fruit thereof. |
| 13你這住在果園中的女郎，願你使我聽到你的聲音！同伴們都在等候細聽。 | 13Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the friends hearken: make me hear thy voice. |
| 14我的愛人！願你仿效郁香山上的羚羊或幼鹿，趕快跑來！ | 14Flee away, O my beloved, and be like to the roe, and to the young hart upon the mountains of aromatical spices. |

4寓意 如同在「默示錄」裏，末世的預言常有重覆，卻也常有演進：「雅歌」的題目亦然。在這一幕內，最大的演進是8:1-3一段。新娘（天主的百姓）用這些話，表示她如何切盼上主可見的來臨，希望他在默西亞的身上藉人性親自顯現，成為「厄瑪奴耳」（「天主與我們同在」，依7:14; 8:8）。她盼望天主取人性成為她可見的哥哥和凈配，而她則為新娘，為妹妹。總而言之，這熱誠的新娘，是在渴望天主聖子降生。 |

14寓意 按希3:7-4:13，和新約其他經書的記載，以民經過曠野的路程，是新約信徒在世生活的預像。進入許地，則是象徵天主的子民進入永遠的安息：只有在這永遠的安息中，教會對天主和基督的愛情才能成為齊全純潔的，才能獲圓的享受（默19:6,7; 20:9）。但為獲得這圓滿的福分，新娘該等待耶穌默西亞的第二次來臨；暫時她還應在各種患難及試探中，藉信仰和希望的生活，證實自己忠貞的愛，以誠摯熱烈的愛，渴望等待凈配的來臨：「主耶穌，你來罷！」（默22:20）。 |
