| 1以色列子民！你們應聽從上主關於你們，即關於我由埃及國領出來的全體民族所說的話： | 1Hear this word which Yahweh speaks against you, people of Israel, against the whole family which he brought up from the land of Egypt. |
| 2「由世界上一切種族中，我只揀選了你們，為此，我必懲罰你們的罪惡。 | 2"Only you have I known of all the families of the earth; therefore I will call you to account for all your wrongdoings." |
| 3二人除非預約，豈能同行？ | 3Do two walk together unless they have agreed? |
| 4獅子若無獵物，豈能在林中咆哮？幼獅若非捕到食物，豈能在洞中吼叫？ | 4Does a lion roar in the forest when it has no prey? Does a young lion growl in its den unless it has seized something? |
| 5雀鳥若無餌食，豈能落在地上？機檻若無所獲，豈能由地上翻起？ | 5Does a bird get caught in a snare if the snare has not been baited? Does a tiger spring up from the ground unless it has caught something? |
| 6如在城中吹起號角，人民豈不恐怖？如城裏發生災禍，豈不是上主所為？ | 6If a trumpet sounds in a city, will the people not be frightened? If disaster strikes a city, has not Yahweh caused it? |
| 7的確，吾主上主若不先將自己的計劃啟示給自己的先知，什麼也不作。 | 7Yet Yahweh does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants, the prophets. |
| 8獅子咆哮了，誰不害怕？吾主上主發了言，誰能不傳他的話？」 | 8If the lion roars, who will not be afraid? If Yahweh speaks, who will not prophesy? |
| 9「你們要在亞述和埃及的宮殿高處宣布說：你們應聚集在撒瑪黎雅的山上，觀看那裏的混亂和其中的殘暴。 | 9Call on the people living in the palaces of Ashur and in the palaces of Egypt, "Come together against the hill of Samaria and see the many scandals and the oppression that is there." |
| 10他們不知行正直的事──上主的斷語──只知在宮殿內積累強暴與欺壓。 | 10"These people do not know how to do what is right, says Yahweh, storing in strongholds what they have taken through violence and extortion. |
| 11因此，吾主上主這樣說：敵人要圍困此地，推翻你的堡壘，搶掠你的宮殿。 | 11Therefore this is the word of Yahweh, "The enemy shall surround the land; your strength shall be broken down and your strongholds plundered." |
| 12上主這樣說：牧人怎樣由獅子口中搶救出兩條羊腿，或一塊羊耳，以色列子民，即在撒瑪黎雅斜倚在安樂椅角上，或大馬士革榻上的人，也要怎樣被救出。 | 12Yahweh says this, "As the shepherd rescues from the mouth of the lion a pair of legs or the tip of an ear, so shall some of you be saved, O Israelites of Samaria who loll on comfortable couches and rest on pillows of Damascus." |
| 13你們靜聽，並對雅各伯家作証──吾主上主萬軍的天主的斷語── | 13"Hear and accuse the nation of Jacob," says Yahweh, God of hosts, |
| 14在我懲罰以色列罪惡之日，我必毀壞貝特耳的祭壇，祭壇的角必被打落在地上。 | 14"On the day that I call Israel to account for his crimes, I will punish as well the altars of Bethel. The horns of the altar will be broken off and fall to the ground. |
| 15我要破壞過冬和過夏的別墅，象牙宮也必遭毀壞，高樓大廈也必蕩然無存」──上主的斷語。 | 15Then I will strike the winter house and the summer house. The palaces of ivory shall be ruined, and the great house destroyed." |
