¹三十年四月五日，當我在革巴爾河畔，在俘虜之中的時候，天開了，我見了天主的異像，	¹On the fifth day of the fourth month of the thirtieth year when I was with the exiles by the river Kebar, the heavens opened and I had visions from Yahweh.
²時在耶苛尼雅王充軍後第五年四月五日；	²On the fifth of the month (it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiakin)
³那時在加色丁地，靠近革巴爾河，上主的話傳給步齊的兒子厄則克耳司祭，上主的手臨於我。	³the word of Yahweh came to Ezekiel, son of Buzi, the priest, in the land of the Chaldeans by the banks of the Kebar. There the hand of Yahweh was upon me.
⁴我觀望，看，有一陣暴風由北方吹來，颳來一大塊火光四射的雲彩，雲中有一團旋轉的火，火中有一種發亮的金屬。	⁴I looked: a windstorm came from the north bringing a great cloud. A fiery light inside it lit up all around it, while at the center there was something like a glowing metal.
⁵火中似乎有四個活物的形狀，牠們的外表是這樣：都有人的形狀。	⁵In the center were what appeared to be four creatures with the same form;
⁶每個有四種形像，每個有四隻翅膀。	⁶but each had four faces and four wings.
⁷牠們的腳是直立的腳，腳掌像牛蹄，發亮像磨光的銅。	⁷Their legs were straight and their feet were like those of a calf, shining like polished bronze.
⁸在牠們四面的翅膀下邊，都有人手；四個活物各有自己的形像和翅膀。	⁸Under their wings (on their four sides) they had human hands. The wings of one
⁹牠們的翅膀互相連接，在行走時不必轉身，各朝着自己的前面行走。	⁹touched those of the other. Their faces did not turn as they advanced, because they were able to go forward in any of the four directions of their faces.
¹⁰關於牠們外表的形像：牠們四個的正面都具有人的形像，右邊有獅的形像，左邊有牛的形像，背面有鷹的形像。	¹⁰I saw they had human faces; but each one also had the face of a lion on the right, and on the left the face of an ox, and all four had the face of an eagle.
¹¹牠們的翅膀向上伸開，每個用兩隻翅膀互相連接，用兩隻翅膀遮蔽身體。	¹¹Their wings were spread upwards. Each had two wings meeting those of its neighbor and two covering its body; having four faces they could advance in any of the four directions.
¹²每個朝着自己的前面行走；神力催迫牠們往那裏去，牠們就往那裏去；行走時不必轉身。	¹²Wherever the spirit would go, they went without turning as they advanced.
¹³在活物中間有一種相似燃着的炭火，又好似火炬在活物中旋轉。這火有亮光，由火中射出閃光。	¹³Between these creatures could be seen glowing coals like torches moving between them. The fire blazed and flashed from thunderbolts.
¹⁴活物來回疾馳，好像閃電。	¹⁴The creatures ran to and fro like thunderbolts.
¹⁵我觀望那些活物時，看，靠近那些活物的四面，在地上各有一個輪子。	¹⁵While I looked at the creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each of them,
¹⁶那些輪子及其構造的外表，光澤有如橄欖石，四輪都有同樣的形狀。四輪結構的樣式，好像輪子套在輪子中。	¹⁶glittering as if made of chrysolite. The four wheels had the same shape: indeed each was double - two wheels placed crosswise,
¹⁷輪子轉動時，可向四方旋轉，前行時不必轉轍。	¹⁷so they could follow any of the four directions without turning as they went.
¹⁸輪輞高大，我看見四個輪輞都佈滿了眼睛。	¹⁸Their rims were lofty and looked terrifying, and the four of them were covered with eyes all the way round.
¹⁹活物行走時，輪子也在牠們旁邊轉動；活物由地面升起時，輪子也升起。	¹⁹When the creatures moved forward the wheels moved along beside them and when the creatures rose from the ground the wheels rose, too.
²⁰神力催迫活物往那裏去，牠們就往神力催迫的方向去；輪子也同時與牠們一起升起，因為活物的神力在輪子內。	²⁰Wherever the spirit was to go, there the creatures went and the wheels went with them for the spirit of the creatures was also in the wheels.
²¹活物行走，輪子也轉動；活物站住，輪子也停住；活物由地上升起，輪子也隨之升起，因為活物的神力在輪子內。	²¹When the creatures moved forward they did, too, stopping when they stopped, rising above the ground when they did, for the spirit of the creatures was in the wheels.
²²在活物的頭上，有相似穹蒼的東西，好像發亮的水晶，在牠們頭上展開。	²²Over the heads of the creatures was a kind of platform; it looked like crystal.
²³在穹蒼下伸直牠們的翅膀，一隻的翅膀與另一隻的翅膀彼此相接，又各有兩隻翅膀遮蔽着身體。	²³Under the platform their wings were straight, one parallel to the other. (Each creature had two that covered its body).
²⁴當牠們行動時，我聽見翅膀的颯颯聲，像洪水之聲，又像全能者的聲音，又似軍營中的喧噪之聲。當牠們站住時，就歛起翅膀。	²⁴I heard the noise of their wings when they moved, similar to the roar of many waters, similar to the voice of the Most High, the noise of a multitude or of a camp. When they were not moving they lowered their wings.
²⁵那時，由牠們頭頂上的穹蒼那裏，發出一種響聲；活物即站住，就歛起翅膀。	²⁵I heard a noise above the platform over their heads.
²⁶在牠們頭頂上的穹蒼上面，有一塊像藍玉的石頭，有寶座的形狀；在這狀如寶座之上，有一個外貌像人的坐在上頭。	²⁶Above it was a throne resembling a sapphire and high on this throne was a figure similar to that of a man. Then I saw a light as of glowing bronze as if fire enveloped him
²⁷我望見在他相似腰部的上面，好像有發亮的金屬，內裏和周圍好像一團火。我又望見在相似腰部的下面，好像有火的形狀，周圍有光環繞，	²⁷from his waist upwards. And from his waist downwards it was as if fire gave radiance around him.
²⁸環繞在周圍的光，猶如落雨時雲彩中所出現的虹霓。這就是上主的光榮顯現時的奇象。我一看見，就伏地掩面，同時也聽見有一位講話的聲音。	²⁸The surrounding light was like a rainbow in the clouds after a day of rain. This vision was the likeness of Yahweh's Glory. On seeing it I fell on my face and then I heard a voice speaking.
