希伯來書	Hebrews
¹法律既然只有未來美物的影子，沒有那些事物的真相，所以總不能因着每年常獻的同樣犧牲，使那些願意親近天主的人得到成全；	¹The religion of the Law is only a shadow of the good things to come; it has the patterns but not the realities. So, year after year, the same sacrifices are offered without bringing the worshipers to what is the end.
²因為，如果那些行敬禮的人，一次而為永遠潔淨了，良心不再覺得有罪了，祭獻豈不就要停止嗎？	²If they had been cleansed once and for all, they would no longer have felt guilt and would have stopped offering the same sacrifices.
³可是，正因這祭獻纔使人每年想起罪過來，	³But no, year after year their sacrifices witness to their sins
⁴因為公牛和公山羊的血斷不能除免罪過。	⁴and never will the blood of bulls and goats take away these sins.
⁵為此，基督一進入世界便說：「犧牲與素祭，已非你所要，卻給我預備了一個身體；	⁵This is why on entering the world, Christ says: You did not desire sacrifice and offering;
⁶全燔祭和贖罪祭，已非你所喜，	⁶you were not pleased with burnt offerings and sin offerings.
⁷於是我說：看，我已來到！關於我，書卷上已有記載：天主！我來為承行你的旨意。」	⁷Then I said: "Here I am. It was written of me in the scroll. I will do your will, O God."
⁸前邊說：「祭物和素祭，全燔祭和贖罪祭，已非你所要，已非你所喜」；這一切都是按照法律所奉獻的；	⁸First he says: Sacrifice, offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire nor were you pleased with them - although they were required by the Law.
⁹後邊他說：「看，我已來到，為承行你的旨意」；由此可見，他廢除了那先前的，為要成立那以後的。	⁹Then he says: Here I am to do your will. This is enough to nullify the first will and establish the new.
¹⁰我們就是因這旨意，藉耶穌基督的身體，一次而為永遠的祭獻，得到了聖化。	¹⁰Now, by this will of God, we are sanctified at once by the sacrifice of the body of Christ Jesus.
¹¹況且，每一位司祭都是天天侍立着執行敬禮，並屢次奉獻總不能除去罪惡的同樣犧牲；	¹¹So, whereas every priest stands daily by the altar offering repeatedly the same sacrifices that can never take away sins,
¹²但是基督只奉獻了一次贖罪的犧牲，以後便永遠坐在天主右邊，	¹²Christ has offered for all times a single sacrifice for sins and has taken his seat at the right hand of God,
¹³從今以後，只等待將他的仇人變作他腳下的踏板。	¹³waiting until God puts his enemies as a footstool under his feet.
¹⁴因為他只藉一次奉獻，就永遠使被聖化的人得以成全。	¹⁴By a single sacrifice he has brought those who are sanctified to what is perfect forever.
¹⁵聖神也給我們作證，因為他說過，	¹⁵This also was testified by the Holy Spirit. For after having declared:
¹⁶「這是我在那些時日後，與他們訂立的盟約──上主說──我要將我的法律放在他們的心中，寫在他們的明悟中」這話以後，	¹⁶This is the covenant that I will make with them in the days to come - says the Lord - I will put my laws in their hearts and write them on their minds.
¹⁷又說：「他們的罪過和他們的邪惡，我總不再追念。」	¹⁷He says: Their sins and evil deeds I will remember no more.
¹⁸若這些罪已經赦了，也就用不着贖罪的祭獻了。	¹⁸So, if sins are forgiven, there is no longer need of any sacrifice for sin.
¹⁹所以，弟兄們！我們既然懷着大膽的信心，靠着耶穌的寶血得以進入聖殿，	¹⁹So, my friends, we are assured of entering the Sanctuary by the blood of Jesus
²⁰即進入由他給我們開創的一條又新又活，通過帳幔，即他肉身的道路；	²⁰who opened for us this new and living way passing through the curtain, that is, his body.
²¹而且我們既然又有一位掌管天主家庭的偉大司祭，	²¹Because we have a high priest in charge of the House of God,
²²我們就應在洗淨心靈，脫離邪僻的良心，和用淨水洗滌身體以後，懷着真誠的心，以完備的信德去接近天主；	²²let us approach with a sincere heart, with full faith, interiorly cleansed from a bad conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
²³也應堅持所明認的望德，毫不動搖，因為應許的那位是忠信的；	²³Let us hold fast to our hope without wavering, because he who promised is faithful.
²⁴也應該彼此關懷，激發愛德，勉勵行善，	²⁴Let us consider how we may spur one another to love and good works.
²⁵決不離棄我們的集會，就像一些人所習慣行的；反而應彼此勸勉；你們見那日子越近，就越該如此。	²⁵Do not abandon the assemblies as some of you do, but encourage one another, and all the more since the Day is drawing near.
²⁶因為如果我們認識真理之後，還故意犯背信的罪，就再沒有另一個贖罪祭了，	²⁶If we sin willfully after receiving knowledge of the truth, there is no longer sacrifice for sin,
²⁷只有一種等待審判的怕情，和勢將吞滅叛逆者的烈火。	²⁷but only the fearful prospect of judgment and of fire which devours the rebellious.
²⁸誰若廢棄梅瑟法律，只要有兩三個證人，他就該死，必不得憐恤；	²⁸For whoever violated the law of Moses there is no mercy: is put to death by the testimony of two or three persons.
²⁹那麼，你們想一想：那踐踏了天主子，拿自己藉以成聖的盟約的血當作了俗物，而又輕慢了賜恩寵的聖神的人，應當受怎樣更厲害的懲罰啊！	²⁹What, then, do you think it will be for those who have despised the Son of God? How severely shall he be punished for having defiled the blood of the covenant by which they were sanctified and for having insulted the Spirit given to them?
³⁰因為我們知道誰曾說過：「復仇在乎我，我必要報復」；又說：「上主必要審判自己的百姓。」	³⁰For we know the One who says: Revenge is mine, I will repay. And also: The Lord will judge his people.
³¹落在永生的天主手中，真是可怕！	³¹What a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
³²請你們回想回想先前的時日，那時你們纔蒙光照，就忍受了苦難的嚴厲打擊：	³²Remember the first days when you were enlightened. You had to undergo a hard struggle in the face of suffering.
³³一方面，你們當眾受嗤笑、凌辱和磨難，另一方面，你們與這樣受苦的人作了同伴。	³³Publicly you were exposed to humiliations and trials, and had to share the sufferings of others who were similarly treated.
³⁴的確，你們同情了監禁的人，又欣然忍受了你們的財物被搶掠，因為你們知道：你們已獲有更高貴且常存的產業，	³⁴You showed solidarity with those in prison; you were dispossessed of your goods and accepted it gladly for you knew you were acquiring a much better and more durable possession.
³⁵所以千萬不要喪失那使你們可得大賞報的勇敢信心。	³⁵Do not now throw away your confidence which will be handsomely rewarded.
³⁶原來你們所需要的就是堅忍，為使你們承行天主的旨意，而獲得那所應許的。	³⁶Be patient in doing the will of God, and the promise will be yours:
³⁷「因為還有很短的一會兒，要來的那一位，就要來到，決不遲緩。	³⁷A little, a little longer - says Scripture - and he who is coming will come; he will not delay.
³⁸我的義人靠信德而生活，假使他退縮，他必不會中悅我心。」	³⁸My righteous one will live if he believes; but if he distrusts, I will no longer look kindly on him.
³⁹我們並不是那般退縮以致喪亡的人，而是有信德得以保全靈魂的人。	³⁹We are not among those who withdraw and perish, but among those who believe and win personal salvation.
