¹雅各伯家，請聽這話：──你們以以色列的名字自稱，出自猶大之後，奉上主的名字起誓，又稱揚「以色列的天主」，但都不是出自誠心誠意；	¹Listen to this, House of Jacob, called by the name of Israel and born out of Judah's womb, you who swear by the name of Yahweh and invoke the God of Israel, though not in truth or righteousness -
²雖然你們自稱是出自聖城，依賴名為「萬軍上主」的以色列的天主──	²calling yourselves after the holy city, and relying on the God of Israel whose name is Yahweh Sabaoth.
³「那過去的事，我早就預言過了，由我口中所發出的，也叫人聽見了；轉瞬間我行了那事，那事也就成就了。	³From long ago I revealed things past: they went forth from my mouth; I declared them. Then suddenly I acted and the word came to be.
⁴因為我知道你是頑固的，你的頸項似鐵槓，你的額是銅製的，	⁴Because I know that you are stubborn, your head as hard as iron, your forehead as bronze,
⁵為此我早就告訴了你，在事未發生之前我就向你說明了，免得你說：『是我的神像行了這事，是我彫刻鑄成的神像命定了這事。』	⁵So I told you about them; before they took place I let you hear of them, lest you should say: "My idols did these, my graven image, my molten image commanded them."
⁶你既聽見了，也看見了這一切，難道你們不該作證嗎？如今我要宣佈新事，即你不知的隱密事。	⁶Now that you have heard and seen, will you not admit it? From now on I will tell you new things, even hidden things you have not known before.
⁷這些事是現今而不是從前造成的，是今日之前你從沒有聽說過的，免得你說：『看，我早就知道了！』	⁷They are created now and not long ago; up to this day you have not heard of them lest you should say, "I already knew."
⁸你從來沒有聽過，也不知道，也是你的耳朵聞所未聞的。因為我知道你好背信叛逆，你實在可稱為『胎生的叛徒。』	⁸You have not heard, you didn't know nor were your ears opened before, for I knew how treacherous you were - you who from birth have been called a rebel.
⁹但是為了我名的緣故，我暫緩發怒；為了我榮譽的緣故，我抑制了我自己，而沒有消滅你。	⁹For my name's sake I delayed my anger, for my honor's sake I restrained it, lest I destroy you.
¹⁰看啊！我只是鍛煉了你，有如銀子，在患難的爐中磨煉了你。	¹⁰See: I have refined you as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
¹¹為了我自己，為了我自己的緣故，我必要去行。我豈能讓我的名字受褻瀆？我決不將我的光榮讓與別人。」	¹¹But now for my own sake I will act, yes, for my own sake. For how could I let my Name be defiled? Never will I yield my glory to another.
¹²雅各伯啊！我所召叫的以色列啊！你聽我說：我就是那位，我是元始，我也是終末。	¹²Listen to me, O Jacob, Israel whom I have called, I am the same, I am the first, and I am also the last.
¹³我的手奠定了大地，我的右手展開了諸天；我一叫它們，它們就一同出現。	¹³My hand laid the foundation of the earth, my right hand spread out the heavens. When I call on the stars they all stand forth together.
¹⁴你們都集合起來聽罷！邪神中有誰預言了這事呢？「我所愛的，必實行我的旨意：攻擊巴比倫和加色丁的苗裔。」	¹⁴Assemble, all of you, and listen. Who among them has foretold these things? The beloved of Yahweh will do what pleases him with Babylon and the people of Chaldea.
¹⁵只有我，只有我預言了這事，召叫了他，引導了他，使他所行的道路順利。	¹⁵I, yes I myself, have spoken; I myself called him and made him prosper in his way.
¹⁶你們走近我前，聽這話罷！我從起初就沒有在暗處說過話，從實現之時起，我就在那裏。我上主現在即要施行救援。	¹⁶Come near me and listen to this: From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time that it happened I have been there. Know then, that Yahweh the Lord, with his Spirit has sent me!
¹⁷你的救主上主，以色列的聖者這樣說：「我是上主你的天主，教訓你為你有益的事，引你走當走的道路。	¹⁷Thus says Yahweh, your Re-deemer, the Holy One of Israel: I, Yahweh, your God, teach you what is best for you; I lead you in the way that you must go.
¹⁸恨不得你一向聽從我的命令！那麼你的安樂將似江河，你的幸福將似海濤；	¹⁸Had you paid attention to my commandments, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
¹⁹你的子孫多如海沙，出於你身的苗裔多似沙粒；你的名字在我前決不會抹去，也決不會被刪除。」	¹⁹Your descendants would have been like the sand, and those born of your stock like its grains, their names never cut off nor blotted out from my presence.
²⁰你們出離巴比倫，逃出加色丁罷！你們要以歡樂的呼聲宣告此事，叫人聽見，傳佈到地極說：「上主救贖了他的僕人雅各伯。」	²⁰"Go forth from Babylon, flee from Chaldea!" Declare this with shouts of joy, make this known to the ends of the earth. Proclaim: Yahweh has redeemed his servant Jacob!
²¹當上主率領他們過曠野時，他們並不覺渴，因為他使水由巖石中流出給他們喝；他分開了巖石，水就湧流出來。	²¹Those he led through the desert were never thirsty. He made water flow for them from the rock; he split the rock and water gushed out.
²²上主說：惡人決無平安！	²²There is no peace for the wicked, Yahweh says.
