| 1猶大王約史雅的兒子約雅金執政第四年，巴比倫王拿步高元年，有關於全猶大人民的話，傳給耶肋米亞； | 1This is the word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim, son of Josiah, which was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. |
| 2耶肋米亞先知便將這話轉告給全猶大人民，和耶路撒冷所有的居民說： | 2And this word was transmitted by the prophet Jeremiah to all the people of Judah and to all the citizens of Jerusalem: |
| 3「自猶大王阿孟的兒子約史雅執政第十三年，直到今日，已經二十三年，凡上主傳給我的話，我都急速告訴了你們，你們卻不聽。 | 3For twenty-three years, that is, from the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon until today, the word of Yahweh has come to me and I have continuously spoken to you, |
| 4上主不斷給你們派來他所有僕人──先知們，你們總是不聽，不願傾耳諦聽。 | 4but you would not listen. Besides Yahweh has sent his servants the prophets to you again and again, but you neither listened nor paid attention. |
| 5他們說：你們應各自離棄自己的邪道，和自己邪惡的行為，好能住在上主從永遠到永遠賜給了你們和你們祖先的地域裏； | 5They said, 'Turn from your evil ways and repent of your wicked deeds that you may live in the land that Yahweh gave to you and your fathers forever and ever. |
| 6不要追隨其他的神祇，事奉朝拜，以你們手做的東西來激怒我，你們就不致遭遇災禍。 | 6Do not turn after other gods to serve and worship them. Do not provoke my anger with these things your own hands have made, and I will do you no harm.' |
| 7你們沒有聽從我──上主的斷語──竟以你們手做的東西來激怒我，自招禍患。 | 7But you refused to listen - it is Yahweh who speaks - and provoked my anger with these gods you yourselves have made to your own detriment. |
| 8為此，萬軍的上主這樣說：由於你們不聽我的話， | 8That is why Yahweh God of hosts says to you: Since you have not listened to what I said, |
| 9看，我必遣人召來北方的一切種族──上主的斷語──和我的僕人巴比倫王拿步高來進攻這地方，和這地方的居民，以及四周所有的民族；我要徹底消滅，任其荒涼，永遠成為笑柄和羞辱的對象。 | 9I will summon all the clans of the north - it is Yahweh who speaks - and my steward Nebuchadnezzar will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy these people, making them desolate, an object of ridicule, an everlasting ruins. |
| 10此外，我還要息滅他們中歡樂喜慶的歌聲，新郎和新娘的歡笑聲，磨聲和燈光。 | 10I will banish from them every sound of joy and happiness, the song of the bride and bridegroom, the noise of the mill and the light of the lamp. |

| 16他們必要喝，必要在我給他們派來的刀劍前，蹣跚發狂。」 | 16They will drink and stagger and lose control of their minds before the sword I am sending among them." |
| 17我便從上主手中接過杯來，給了上主派我所到的各民族喝： | 17So I took the cup from Yahweh's hand and made all the nations to whom he sent me drink from it: |
| 18給耶路撒冷和猶大各城市，以及城中的君王和首長喝，使她們荒蕪淒涼，受人嘲笑詛咒，像今日一樣； | 18to bring them in ruins, a desolation which is an object of ridicule and curses, as they are today. |
| 19給埃及王法郎和他的臣僕王侯並全體人民； | 19Then I gave it to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to his ministers, his princes and all his people, to all the countries of the west, |

| 22給提洛、漆冬和海外島嶼的眾君王； | 22all the kings of Tyre and Sidon: the kings of the coastlands across the sea; |

| 24給阿剌伯和在沙漠居往的雜族的眾君王； | 24all the kings of Arabia and the kings of the west and the kings of those who live in the desert; |
| 25給齊默黎、厄藍和瑪待的眾君王； | 25all the kings of Zimri, Elim and Media and |
| 26給北方彼此相離或遠或近的眾君王，以及地面上所有的王國喝；最後喝的，是舍沙客的君王。 | 26all the kings of the north, far and near, one after the other; all the kings that are found on the face of the earth! And after them the king of Babylon shall drink it! |
| 27你應對他們說：「萬軍的上主，以色列的天主這樣說：你們要喝，喝醉，嘔吐，倒在我給你們派來的刀劍前，再不起來。 | 27You will say to them, "This is the message of Yahweh the God of hosts and the God of Israel: 'Drink, get drunk, vomit, fall without raising again in front of the sword I am sending against you.' |
| 28假使他們不肯從你手中取過杯去喝，你就對他們說：萬軍的上主這樣說：你們必須喝。 | 28But if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, tell them, 'Yahweh the God of hosts has spoken: You also must drink. |

| 32萬軍的上主這樣說：看，各國相繼發生災禍，由地極捲來強烈的風暴。 | 32Yahweh, God of hosts, says, "See, disaster spreads from nation to nation. A storm arises from the ends of the earth. |
| 33到了那一天，從地極到地極，遍是上主殺戮的人，沒有人哀悼、收殮、埋葬，有如地面上的糞土。 | 33On that day Yahweh's victims will be spread from one end of the earth to the other. No one will mourn for them; no one will gather them up or bury them - they will be like dung on the soil! |
| 34為人牧者，你們應哭泣哀號！為羊群領導者，你們應在灰塵中輾轉！因為你們的日期已滿，你們要被宰殺，快要被宰割，像精選的公羊。 | 34Howl, shepherds, and lament! Roll in the dust you leaders of flocks for the day of slaughter and dispersal has come for you and you will fall like fattened rams. |
| 35為人牧者，無路可逃；為羊群領導者，無法脫身。 | 35The shepherds will find no refuge and the leaders of the the flocks will not be able to escape. |
| 36聽啊！為人牧者在哀號，為羊群領導者在哭泣，因為上主摧毀了他們的牧場。 | 36The shepherds cry out and the leaders of flocks wail, |
| 37寧靜的草場，因上主的怒燄，已成一片荒涼。 | 37for Yahweh lays waste the grasslands, and the pastures are silent because of the fury of Yahweh's anger. |
| 38null | 38Like a lion he leaves his lair; because of his fierce wrath the land has been stricken by the sword and has become a wasteland." |
