若望福音	John
¹在逾越節慶日前，耶穌知道他離此世歸父的時辰已到，他既然愛了世上屬於自己的人，就愛他們到底。	¹It was before the feast of the Passover. Jesus realized that his hour had come to pass from this world to the Father, and as he had loved those who were his own in the world, he would love them with perfect love.
²正吃晚餐的時候──魔鬼已使依斯加略人西滿的兒子猶達斯決意出賣耶穌──	²They were at supper and the devil had already put into the mind of Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, to betray.
³耶穌因知道父把一切已交在他手中，也知道自己是從天主來的，又要往天主那裏去，	³Jesus knew that the Father had entrusted all things to him, and as he had come from God, he was going to God.
⁴就從席間起來，脫下外衣，拿起一條手巾束在腰間，	⁴So he got up from table, removed his garment and taking a towel, wrapped it around his waist.
⁵然後把水倒在盆裏，開始洗門徒的腳，用束着的手巾擦乾。	⁵Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel he was wearing.
⁶及至來到西滿伯多祿跟前，伯多祿對他說：「主！你給我洗腳嗎？」	⁶When he came to Simon Peter, Simon said to him, "Why, Lord, you want to wash my feet!"
⁷耶穌回答說：「我所做的，你現在還不明白，但以後你會明白。」	⁷Jesus said, "What I am doing you cannot understand now, but afterwards you will understand it."
⁸伯多祿對他說：「不，你永遠不可給我洗腳！」耶穌回答說：「我若不洗你，你就與我無分。」	⁸Peter replied, "You shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered him, "If I do not wash you, you can have no part with me."
⁹西滿伯多祿遂說：「主！不但我的腳，而且連手帶頭，都給我洗罷！」	⁹Then Simon Peter said, "Lord, wash not only my feet, but also my hands and my head!"
¹⁰耶穌向他說：「沐浴過的人，已全身清潔，只需洗腳就夠了。你們原是潔淨的，但不都是。」	¹⁰Jesus replied, "Whoever has taken a bath does not need to wash (except the feet), for he is clean all over. You are clean, though not all of you."
¹¹原來，耶穌知道誰要出賣他，為此說：你們不都是潔淨的。	¹¹Jesus knew who was to betray him; because of this he said, "Not all of you are clean."
¹²及至耶穌洗完了他們的腳，穿上外衣，又去坐下，對他們說：「你們明白我給你們所做的嗎？	¹²When Jesus had finished washing their feet, he put on his garment again, went back to the table and said to them, "Do you understand what I have done to you?
¹³你們稱我『師傅』、『主子』，說得正對：我原來是。	¹³You call me Master and Lord, and you are right, for so I am.
¹⁴若我為主子，為師傅的，給你們洗腳，你們也該彼此洗腳；	¹⁴If I, then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet, you also must wash one another's feet.
¹⁵我給你們立了榜樣，叫你們也照我給你們所做的去做。	¹⁵I have just given you an example that as I have done, you also may do.
¹⁶我實實在在告訴你們：沒有僕人大過主人的，也沒有奉使的大過派遣他的。	¹⁶Truly, I say to you, the servant is not greater than his master, nor is the messenger greater than he who sent him.
¹⁷你們既知道了這些事，如果實行，便是有福的。	¹⁷Understand this, and blessed are you if you put it into practice.
¹⁸我不是說你們全體，我認識我所揀選的；但經上所記載的必須應驗：『吃過我飯的人，也舉腳踢我。』	¹⁸I am not speaking of you all, because I know the ones I have chosen and the Scripture has to be fulfilled that says, The one who shared my table has risen against me.
¹⁹就在現在，事未發生以前，我告訴你們，好叫事發生以後，你們相信我就是那一位。	¹⁹I tell you this now before it happens, so that when it does happen, you may know that I am He.
²⁰我實實在在告訴你們：凡接待我所派遣的，就是接待我；接待我的，就是接待那派遣我來的。」	²⁰Truly, I say to you, whoever welcomes the one I send, welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me, welcomes the One who sent me."
²¹耶穌說了這些話，心神煩亂，就明明地說：「我實實在在告訴你們：你們中有一個要出賣我。」	²¹After saying this, Jesus was distressed in spirit and said plainly, "Truly, one of you will betray me."
²²門徒便互相觀望，猜疑他說的是誰。	²²The disciples then looked at one another, wondering who he meant.
²³他門徒中有一個是耶穌所愛的，他那時斜依在耶穌的懷裏，	²³One of the disciples, the one Jesus loved, was reclining near Jesus;
²⁴西滿伯多祿就向他示意說：「你問他說的是誰？」	²⁴so Simon Peter signaled him to ask Jesus whom he meant.
²⁵那位就緊靠在耶穌的胸膛上，問他說：「主！是誰？」	²⁵And the disciple who was reclining near Jesus asked him, "Lord, who is it?"
²⁶耶穌答覆說：「我蘸這片餅遞給誰，誰就是。」耶穌就蘸了一片餅，遞給依斯加略人西滿的兒子猶達斯。	²⁶Jesus answered, "I shall dip a piece of bread in the dish, and he to whom I give it, is the one." So Jesus dipped the bread and gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
²⁷隨着那片餅，撒殫進入了他的心，於是耶穌對他說：「你所要做的，你快去做罷！」	²⁷And as Judas took the piece of bread, Satan entered into him. Jesus then said to him, "What you are going to do, do quickly."
²⁸同席的人誰也沒有明白耶穌為什麼向他說了這話。	²⁸None of the others reclining at table understood why Jesus said this to Judas.
²⁹不過，有人因為猶達斯掌管錢囊，以為耶穌是給他說：「你去買我們過節所需要的」，或者，要他給窮人施捨一些東西。	²⁹As he had the common purse, they may have thought that Jesus was telling him, "Buy what we need for the feast," or, "Give something to the poor."
³⁰猶達斯一吃了那一片餅，就立時出去了：那時，正是黑夜。	³⁰Judas left as soon as he had eaten the bread. It was night.
³¹猶達斯出去以後，耶穌就說：「現在人子受到了光榮，天主也在人子身上受到了光榮。	³¹When Judas had gone out, Jesus said, "Now is the Son of Man glorified and God is glorified in him.
³²天主既然在人子身上得到了光榮，天主也要在自己內使人子得到光榮，並且立時就要光榮他。	³²God will glorify him, and he will glorify him very soon.
³³孩子們！我同你們在一起的時候不多了；以後你們要尋找我，就如我曾向猶太人說過：我所去的地方，你們不能去；現在我也給你們說。	³³My children, I am with you for only a little while; you will look for me, but, as I already told the Jews, so now I tell you: where I am going you cannot come.
³⁴我給你們一條新命令：你們該彼此相愛；如同我愛了你們，你們也該照樣彼此相愛。	³⁴Now I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another.
³⁵如果你們之間彼此相親相愛，世人因此就可認出你們是我的門徒。」	³⁵By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
³⁶西滿伯多祿問耶穌說：「主！你往那裏去？」耶穌回答說：「我所去的地方，你如今不能跟我去，但後來卻要跟我去。」	³⁶Simon Peter said to him, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus answered, "Where I am going you cannot follow me now, but afterwards you will."
³⁷伯多祿向他說：「主！為什麼現在我不能跟你去？我要為你捨掉我的性命！」	³⁷Peter said, "Lord, why can't I follow you now? I am ready to give my life for you."
³⁸耶穌答覆說：「你要為我捨掉你的性命嗎？我實實在在告訴你：雞未叫以前，你要三次不認我。」	³⁸Jesus answered, "To give your life for me! Truly, I tell you, the cock will not crow before you have denied me three times."
