¹耶穌進了耶里哥，正經過的時候，	¹When Jesus entered Jericho and was going through the city,
²有一個人，名叫匝凱，他原是稅吏長，是個富有的人。	²a man named Zaccheus was there. He was a tax collector and a wealthy man.
³他想要看看耶穌是什麼人；但由於人多，不能看見，因為他身材短小。	³He wanted to see what Jesus was like, but he was a short man and could not see because of the crowd.
⁴於是他往前奔跑，攀上了一棵野桑樹，要看看耶穌，因為耶穌就要從那裏經過。	⁴So he ran ahead and climbed up a sycamore tree. From there he would be able to see Jesus who had to pass that way.
⁵耶穌來到那地方，抬頭一看，對他說：「匝凱，你快下來！因為我今天必須住在你家中。」	⁵When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, "Zaccheus, come down quickly for I must stay at your house today."
⁶他便趕快下來，喜悅地款留耶穌。	⁶So Zaccheus hurried down and received him joyfully.
⁷眾人見了，都竊竊私議說：「他竟到有罪的人那裏投宿。」	⁷All the people who saw it began to grumble and said, "He has gone to the house of a sinner as a guest."
⁸匝凱站起來對主說：「主，你看，我把我財物的一半施捨給窮人；我如果欺騙過誰，我就以四倍賠償。」	⁸But Zaccheus spoke to Jesus, "The half of my goods, Lord, I give to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone, I will pay him back four times as much."
⁹耶穌對他說：「今天救恩臨到了這一家，因為他也是亞巴郎之子。	⁹Looking at him Jesus said, "Salvation has come to this house today, for he is also a true son of Abraham.
¹⁰因為人子來，是為尋找及拯救迷失了的人。」	¹⁰The Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost."
¹¹眾人聽這話的時候，耶穌因為已臨近耶路撒冷，而且他們都以為天主的國快要出現，遂設了一個比喻，	¹¹Jesus was now near Jerusalem and the people with him thought that God's reign was about to appear. So as they were listening to him, Jesus went on to tell them a parable.
¹²說：「有一個貴人起身到遠方去，為取得了王位再回來。	¹²He said, "A man of noble birth went to a distant place to have himself appointed king of his own people, after which he would return.
¹³他將自己的十個僕人叫來，交給他們十個『米納』，並囑咐說：你們拿去做生意，直到我回來。	¹³Before he left, he summoned ten of his servants and gave them ten pounds. He said: 'Put this money to work until I get back.'
¹⁴他本國的人，一向懷恨他，遂在他後面派代表去說：我們不願意這人為王統治我們。	¹⁴But his compatriots who disliked him sent a delegation after him with this message: 'We do not want this man to be our king.'
¹⁵他得了王位歸來以後，便傳令將那些領了他錢的僕人給他召來，想知道每個人做生意賺了多少。	¹⁵He returned, however, appointed as king. At once he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, to find out what profit each had made.
¹⁶第一個前來說：主，你的那個『米納』賺了十個『米納』。	¹⁶The first came in and reported: 'Sir, your pound has earned ten more.'
¹⁷主人給他說：好，善僕！你既然在小事上忠信，你要有權掌管十座城。	¹⁷The master replied: 'Well done, my good servant. Since you have proved yourself capable in a small matter, I can trust you to take charge of ten cities.'
¹⁸第二個前來說：主，你的那個『米納』賺了五個『米納』。	¹⁸The second reported: 'Sir, your pound earned five more pounds.'
¹⁹主人也給這人說：你也要掌管五座城。	¹⁹The master replied: 'Right, take charge of five cities.'
²⁰另一個前來說：主，看，你那個『米納』，我收存在手巾裏。	²⁰The third came in and said: 'Sir, here is your money which I hid for safekeeping.
²¹我一向害怕你，因為你是一個嚴厲的人：你沒有存放的，也要提取；沒有下種的，也要收割。	²¹I was afraid of you for you are an exacting person; you take up what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.'
²²主人向他說：惡僕！我就憑你的口供定你的罪。你不是知道我是個嚴厲的人，沒有存放的，也要提取；沒有下種的，也要收割的嗎？	²²The master replied: 'You worthless servant, I will judge you by your own words. So you knew I was an exacting person, taking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow!
²³為什麼你不把我的錢存於錢莊？迨我回來時，我可以連本帶利取出來。	²³Why, then, did you not put my money on loan so that when I got back I could have collected it with interest?'
²⁴主人便向侍立左右的人說：你們把他那個『米納』奪過來，給那有十個的。	²⁴Then the master said to those standing by: 'Take from him that pound, and give it to the one with ten pounds.'
²⁵他們向他說：主，他已有十個『米納』了。	²⁵They objected: 'But, sir, he already has ten!'
²⁶我告訴你們：凡是有的，還要給他；那沒有的，連他所有的，也要從他奪去。	²⁶'I tell you: everyone who has will be given more; but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.
²⁷至於那些敵對我，不願意我作他們君王的人，你們把他們押到這裏，在我面前殺掉。」	²⁷As for my enemies who did not want me to be king, bring them in and execute them right here in my presence.'"
²⁸耶穌說了這些話，就領頭前行，上耶路撒冷去了。	²⁸So Jesus spoke, and he went on ahead of them, on his way to Jerusalem.
²⁹及至臨近貝特法革和伯達尼，在一座名叫橄欖山那裏，耶穌派遣兩個門徒說：	²⁹When he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, close to Mount Olivet, he sent two of the disciples with these instructions,
³⁰「你們往對面的村莊裏去，一進村，就會看見一匹拴着的驢駒，從來沒有人騎過，把牠解開，牽來。	³⁰"Go to the village opposite and as you enter it you will find a colt tied up that no one has yet ridden: untie it and bring it here.
³¹如果有人問你們說：你們為什麼解牠？你們要這樣說：主要用牠。」	³¹And if anyone says to you: 'Why are you untying this colt?' You shall give this answer: 'The Master needs it.'"
³²被派的人去了，所遇見的，正如對他們說過的一樣。	³²So the two disciples went and found things just as Jesus had said.
³³他們正在解驢駒的時候，驢駒的主人對他們說：「你們為什麼解這驢駒？」	³³As they were untying the colt, the owner said to them, "Why are you untying the colt?"
³⁴他們說：「主要用牠。」	³⁴And they answered, "The Master needs it."
³⁵他們遂把驢駒牽到耶穌跟前，把他們的外衣搭在驢駒上，扶耶穌騎上。	³⁵So they brought it to Jesus and throwing their cloaks on the colt, they mounted Jesus on it.
³⁶前行的時候，人們把自己的外衣舖在路上。	³⁶And as he went down, people spread their cloaks on the road.
³⁷當他臨近橄欖山的下坡時，眾門徒為了所見過的一切奇能，都歡欣的大聲頌揚天主說：	³⁷When Jesus came near Jerusalem, at the place where the road slopes down from the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen,
³⁸「因上主之名而來的君王，應受讚頌！和平在天上，光榮於高天！」	³⁸and they cried out, "Blessed is he who comes as king in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and Glory in the highest heavens."
³⁹人群中有幾個法利塞人對耶穌說：「師傅，責斥你的門徒罷！」	³⁹Some Pharisees in the crowd said to him, "Master, rebuke your disciples."
⁴⁰耶穌回答說：「我告訴你們：這些人若不作聲，石頭就要喊叫了！」	⁴⁰But Jesus answered, "I tell you, if they were to remain silent, the stones would cry out."
⁴¹耶穌臨近的時候，望見京城，便哀哭她說：	⁴¹When Jesus had come in sight of the city, he wept over it
⁴²「恨不能在這一天，你也知道有關你平安的事；但這事如今在你眼前是隱藏的。	⁴²and said, "If only today you knew the ways of peace! But now your eyes are held from seeing.
⁴³的確，日子將臨於你，你的仇敵要在你四周築起壁壘，包圍你，四面窘困你；	⁴³Yet days will come upon you when your enemies will surround you with barricades and shut you in and press on you from every side.
⁴⁴又要蕩平你，及在你內的子民；在你內決不留一塊石頭在另一塊石頭上，因為你沒有認識眷顧你的時期。」	⁴⁴And they will dash you to the ground and your children with you, and leave not a stone within you, for you did not recognize the time and the visitation of your God."
⁴⁵耶穌進了殿院，開始把買賣人趕出去。	⁴⁵Then Jesus entered the Temple area and began to drive out the merchants.
⁴⁶對他們說：「經上記載：我的殿宇應是祈禱之所，而你們竟把它做了賊窩。」	⁴⁶And he said to them, "God says in the Scriptures: My house shall be a house of prayer: but you have turned it into a den of robbers."
⁴⁷耶穌每天在聖殿內施教。司祭長及經師並人民的首領，設法要除掉他；	⁴⁷Jesus was teaching every day in the Temple. The chief priests and teachers of the Law wanted to kill him and the elders of the Jews as well,
⁴⁸但是尋不出什麼辦法，因為眾百姓都傾心聽他。	⁴⁸but they were unable to do anything, for all the people were listening to him and hanging on his words.
