| 1稱為逾越節的無酵節近了。 | 1The feast of Unleavened Bread which is called the Passover, was now drawing near, |
| 2司祭長及經師設法要怎樣消除耶穌，因為他們害怕百姓。 | 2and the chief priests and the teachers of the Law wanted to kill Jesus. They were looking for a way to do this because they were afraid of the people. |
| 3那時，撒殫進入了那名叫依斯加略的猶達斯的心中，他本是十二人中之一。 | 3Then Satan entered into Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve, |
| 4他去同司祭長及聖殿警官商議，怎樣把耶穌交給他們。 | 4and he went off to discuss with the chief priests and the officers of the guard how to deliver Jesus to them. |
| 5他們不勝欣喜，就約定給他銀錢； | 5They were delighted and agreed to give him money; |
| 6他應允了，遂尋找機會，當群眾不在的時候，把耶穌交給他們。 | 6so he accepted, and from that time he waited for an opportunity to betray him without the people knowing. |
| 7無酵節日到了，這一天，應宰殺逾越節羔羊。 | 7Then came the feast of the Unleavened Bread in which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. |
| 8耶穌打發伯多祿和若望說：「你們去為我們預備要吃的逾越節晚餐罷！」 | 8So Jesus sent Peter and John saying, "Go and get everything ready for us to eat the Passover meal." |
| 9他們問他說：「你願意我們在那裏預備？」 | 9They asked him, "Where do you want us to prepare it?" |
| 10他回答說：「注意！你們進城，必有一個拿水罐的人與你們相遇，你們就跟着他，到他所進的那一家， | 10And he said, "When you enter the city, a man will come to you carrying a jar of water. Follow him to the house he enters |
| 11對那家的主人說：師傅問你：我同我的門徒吃逾越節晚餐的客房在那裏？ | 11and say to the owner: 'The master asks: where is the room where I may take the Passover meal with my disciples?' |
| 12那人必指給你們一間鋪設好了的寬大樓廳；你們就在那裏準備。」 | 12He will show you a large, furnished room upstairs, and there you will prepare for us." |
| 13他們去了，所遇見的，正如耶穌對他們所說的一樣；他們便預備了逾越節晚餐。 | 13Peter and John went off and having found everything just as Jesus had told them, they prepared the Passover meal. |
| 14到了時候，耶穌就入席，宗徒也同他一起。 | 14When the hour came, Jesus took his place at table and the apostles with him. |
| 15耶穌對他們說：「我渴望而又渴望，在我受難以前，同你們吃這一次逾越節晚餐。 | 15And he said to them, "I was eager to eat this passover with you before I suffer; |
| 16我告訴你們：非等到它在天主的國裏成全了，我決不再吃它。」 | 16for, I tell you, I shall not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God." |
| 17耶穌接過杯來，祝謝了說：「你們把這杯拿去，彼此分着喝罷！ | 17Then they passed him a cup and when he had given thanks he said, "Take this and share it among yourselves: |
| 18我告訴你們：從今以後，非等到天主的國來臨了，我決不再喝這葡萄汁了。」 | 18for I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the grape of the vine until the kingdom of God comes." |
| 19耶穌拿起餅來，祝謝了，擘開，遞給他們說：「這是我的身體，為你們而捨棄的。你們應行此禮，為紀念我。」 | 19Jesus also took bread, and after giving thanks, he broke it and gave it to them saying, "This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me." |
| 20晚餐以後，耶穌同樣拿起杯來，說：「這杯是用我為你們流出的血而立的新約。」 | 20And he did the same with the cup after eating, "This cup is the new covenant, sealed in my blood which is poured out for you. |
| 21「但是，看，負賣我者的手同我一起在桌子上。 | 21Yet the hand of the traitor is with me on the table. |
| 22人子固然要依照所預定的離去，但那負賣人子的人是有禍的。」 | 22Know that the Son of Man is going the way marked out for him. But alas for that one who betrays him!" |
| 23他們便彼此相問，他們中那一個要做這事。 | 23They began to ask one another which of them could do such a thing. |
| 24在他們中又起了爭論：他們中數着誰最大。 | 24They also began to argue among themselves which of them should be considered the most important. |
| 25耶穌給他們說：「外邦人有君王宰制他們，那有權管治他們的，稱為恩主； | 25And Jesus said, "The kings of the pagan nations rule over them as lords, and the most hard-hearted rulers claim the title, 'Gracious Lord.' |
| 26但你們卻不要這樣：你們中最大的，要成為最小的；為首領的，要成為服事人的。 | 26But not so with you; let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as the servant. |
| 27是誰大呢？是坐席的，還是服事人的？不是坐席的嗎？可是我在你們中間卻像是服事人的。 | 27For who is the greatest, he who sits at the table or he who serves? He who is seated, isn't it? Yet I am among you as the one who serves. |
| 28在我的困難中，與我常常相偕的，就是你們。 | 28You are the ones who have been with me and stood by me through my troubles; |
| 29所以，我將王權給你們預備下，正如我父給我預備下了一樣， | 29because of this, just as the kingship has been given to me by my Father, so I give it to you. |
| 30為使你們在我的國裏，一同在我的筵席上吃喝，並坐在寶座上，審判以色列十二支派。 | 30You will eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and you will sit on thrones and govern the twelve tribes of Israel. |
| 31西滿，西滿，看，撒殫求得了許可，要篩你們像篩麥子一樣。 | 31Simon, Simon, Satan has demanded to sift you like grain, |
| 32但是我已為你祈求了，為叫你的信德不至喪失，待你回頭以後，要堅固你的兄弟。」 | 32but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have recovered you shall strengthen your brothers." |
| 33伯多祿向他說：「主，我已經準備同你一起下獄，同去受死。」 | 33Then Peter said, "Lord, with you I am ready to go even to prison and death." |
| 34耶穌說：「伯多祿，我告訴你：今天雞還未叫以前，你要三次說不認識我。」 | 34But Jesus replied, "I tell you, Peter, the cock will not crow this day before you have denied three times that you know me." |
| 35然後又給他們說：「我以前派遣你們的時候，沒有帶錢囊、口袋及鞋，你們缺少了什麼沒有？」他們說：「什麼也沒有缺。」 | 35Jesus also said to them, "When I sent you without purse or bag or sandals, were you short of anything?" They answered, "No." |
| 36耶穌向他們說：「可是如今，有錢囊的，應當帶着；有口袋的也一樣；沒有劍的，應當賣去自己的外衣，去買一把。 | 36And Jesus said to them, "But now, the one who has a purse must take it, and a bag as well. And if anyone is without a sword, let him sell his cloak to buy one. |
| 37我告訴你們：經上所載：『他被列於叛逆之中』的這句話，必須應驗在我身上，因為那有關我的事，快要終結。」 | 37For Scriptures says: He was numbered among criminals. These words had to be fulfilled in me, and now everything written about me is taking place. |
| 38他們說：「主，看，這裏有兩把劍。」耶穌給他們說：「夠了！」 | 38Then they said, "See, Lord, here are two swords," but he answered, "That is enough." |
| 39耶穌出來，照常往橄欖山去，門徒也跟他去了。 | 39After this Jesus left to go as usual to Mount Olivet and the disciples followed him. |
| 40到了那地方，耶穌便給他們說：「你們應當祈禱，免得陷於誘惑。」 | 40When he came to the place, he told them, "Pray that you may not be put to the test." |
| 41遂離開他們，約有投石那麼遠，屈膝祈禱， | 41Then he went a little further, about a stone's throw, and kneeling down he prayed, |
| 42說：「父啊！你如果願意，請給我免去這杯罷！但不要隨我的意願，惟照你的意願成就罷！」 | 42"Father, if it is your will, remove this cup from me; still not my will but yours be done." |
| 43有一位天使，從天上顯現給他，加強他的力量。 | 43And an angel from heaven appeared to give him strength. |
| 44他在極度恐慌中，祈禱越發懇切；他的汗如同血珠滴在地上。 | 44As he was in agony, he prayed even more earnestly and great drops of blood formed like sweat and fell to the ground. |
| 45他從祈禱中起來，到門徒那裏，看見他們都因憂悶睡着了， | 45When he rose from prayer, he went to his disciples but found them worn out with grief, and asleep. |
| 46就給他們說：「你們怎麼睡覺呢？起來祈禱罷！免得陷於誘惑。」 | 46And he said to them, "Why do you sleep? Get up and pray, so that you may not be put to the test." |
| 47耶穌還說話的時候，來了一群人，那十二人之一，名叫猶達斯的，走在他們前面；他走近了耶穌，要口親他。 | 47Jesus was still speaking when a group appeared and the man named Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He drew near to Jesus to kiss him, |
| 48耶穌給他說：「猶達斯，你用口親來負賣人子嗎？」 | 48and Jesus said to him, "Did you need this kiss to betray the Son of Man?" |
| 49耶穌左右的人一見要發生的事，就說：「主，我們可以用劍砍嗎？」 | 49Those with Jesus seeing what would happen, said to him, "Master, shall we use the sword?" |
| 50他們中有一個人砍了大司祭的僕人，把他的右耳削了下來。 | 50And one of them struck the High Priest's servant and cut off his right ear. |
| 51耶穌說道：「至此為止！」就摸了摸那人的耳朵，治好了他。 | 51But Jesus stopped him, "No more of this." He touched the man's ear and healed him. |
| 52耶穌對那些來到他跟前的司祭長，和聖殿警官並長老說：「你們拿着刀劍棍棒出來，好像對付強盜嗎？ | 52Then Jesus spoke to those coming against him, the chief priests, officers of the Temple and elders and he said to them, "Did you really set out against a robber? Do you need swords and clubs to arrest me? |
| 53我天天同你們在聖殿裏的時候，你們沒有下手拿我；但現在是你們的時候，是黑暗的權勢！」 | 53Day after day I was among you teaching in the Temple and you did not arrest me. But this is the hour of the power of darkness; this is your hour." |
| 54他們既拿住耶穌，就帶着解到大司祭的住宅。伯多祿遠遠地跟 着。 | 54Then they seized him and took him away, bringing him to the High Priest's house. Peter followed at a distance. |
| 55他們在庭院中間生了火，一起環坐，伯多祿也坐在他們中間。 | 55A fire was kindled in the middle of the courtyard where people gathered, and Peter sat among them. |
| 56有一個使女看見他面對火光坐着，便定睛注視他說：「這個人也是同他一起的。」 | 56A maidservant noticed him. Looking at him intently in the light of the fire, she exclaimed, "This man also was with him!" |
| 57伯多祿否認說：「女人，我不認識他。」 | 57But he denied it, saying, "Woman, I do not know him." |
| 58過了不久，另一個人看見他說：「你也是他們中的。」伯多祿說：「你這個人！我不是。」 | 58A little later someone who saw him said, "You are also one of them!" Peter replied, "My friend, I am not!" |
| 59約隔一個時辰，又有一個人肯定說：「這個人，確是同他一起的，因為他是加里肋亞人。」 | 59After about an hour another asserted, "Surely this man was with him, for he is a Galilean." |
| 60伯多祿說：「你這個人！我不懂你說的。」他還說話的時候，雞便叫了。 | 60Again Peter denied, "My friend, I don't know what you are talking about." He had not finished saying this when a cock crowed. |
| 61主轉過身來，看了看伯多祿；伯多祿就想起主對他說的話來：「今天雞叫以前，你要三次不認我。」 | 61The Lord turned around and looked at Peter and he remembered the word that the Lord had spoken, "Before the cock crows today you will have denied me three times." |
| 62伯多祿一到外面，就悽慘地哭起來了。 | 62Peter went outside, weeping bitterly. |
| 63那些羈押耶穌的人戲弄他、打他； | 63Meanwhile the guards were mocking and beating Jesus. |
| 64又蒙起他來，問他說：「你猜一猜：是誰打你？」 | 64They blindfolded him, struck him and then asked, "Who hit you? Tell us, prophet." |
| 65他們還說了許多別的侮辱他的話。 | 65And they hurled many other insulting words at him. |
| 66天一亮，民間長老及司祭長並經師集合起來，把耶穌帶到他們的公議會裏， | 66At daybreak, the council of the elders of the people, among whom were the chief priests and the scribes, assembled again. Then they had Jesus brought before them, and they began questioning him: |
| 67說：「如果你是默西亞，就告訴我們罷！」耶穌回答他們說：「即便我告訴你們，你們也不會相信。 | 67"Tell us, are you the Christ?" Jesus replied, "You will not believe if I tell you, |
| 68如果我問，你們也決不回答。 | 68and neither will you answer if I ask you. |
| 69從今以後，人子要坐在大能者天主的右邊。」 | 69Yet from now on the Son of Man will have his seat at the right hand of the Mighty God." |
| 70眾人於是說：「那麼，你就是天主子了？」耶穌對他們說：「你們說了，我就是。」 | 70In chorus they asked, "So you are the Son of God?" And Jesus said to them, "You are right, I am." |
| 71他們說：「我們何必還需要見證呢？我們親自從他的口中聽見了。」 | 71Then they said, "What need have we of witnesses? We have heard it from his own lips." |
