| 1當他們將近耶路撒冷，到了貝特法革和伯達尼，在橄欖山那裏時，耶穌就打發兩個門徒， | 1When they drew near to Jerusalem and arrived at Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples with these instructions, |
| 2對他們說：「你們往對面的村莊裏去，一進村莊，立時會看見一匹拴着的驢駒，是從來沒有人騎過的；把牠解開牽來。 | 2"Go to the village on the other side and, as you enter it, you will find there a colt tied up that no one has ridden. Untie it and bring it here. |
| 3若有人對你們說：你們做什麼？你們就說：主要用牠，但是會立刻把他牽回這裏來。」 | 3If anyone says to you: 'What are you doing?' give this answer: 'The Lord needs it, but he will send it back immediately.'" |
| 4他們去了，便見一匹驢駒，拴在門外街道上，就把牠解開。 | 4They went off and found the colt out in the street tied at the door. |
| 5在那裏站着的人，有人對他們說：「你們解開驢駒作什麼？」 | 5As they were untying it, some of the bystanders asked, "Why are you untying that colt?" |
| 6門徒就按照耶穌所吩咐的對他們說了；那些人遂容許了他們。 | 6They answered as Jesus had told them, and the people allowed them to continue. |
| 7他們把驢駒牽到耶穌跟前，把自己的外衣搭在上面，耶穌就騎了上去。 | 7They brought the colt to Jesus, threw their cloaks on its back, and Jesus sat upon it. |
| 8有許多人把自己的外衣，另有些人把從田間砍來的綠樹枝，舖在路上， | 8Many people also spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread leafy branches from the fields. |
| 9前行後隨的人，都喊着說：「賀三納！因上主之名而來的，應受讚頌！ | 9Then the people who walked ahead and those who followed behind Jesus began to shout, "Hosannah! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! |
| 10那要來的我們祖先達味之國，應受讚頌！賀三納於至高之天！」 | 10Blessed is the kingdom of our father David which comes! Hosannah in the highest!" |
| 11耶穌進了耶路撒冷，到聖殿裏，周圍察看了一切，時辰已晚，遂同十二門徒出來，往伯達尼去了。 | 11So Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the Temple. And after he had looked all around, as it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve. |
| 12第二天，他們從伯達尼出來，耶穌餓了。 | 12The next day, when they were leaving Bethany, he felt hungry. |
| 13他從遠處望見了一棵茂盛的無花果樹，就上前去，看是否在樹上可以找到什麼；及至走到那裏，除了葉子外，什麼也沒有找着，因為還不是無花果的時節。 | 13In the distance he noticed a fig tree covered with leaves, so he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. |
| 14耶穌就開口對它說：「永遠再沒有人吃你的果子了！」他的門徒也都聽見了。 | 14Then Jesus said to the fig tree, "May no one ever eat your fruit!" And his disciples heard these words. |
| 15他們來到耶路撒冷。耶穌一進殿院，就開始把在殿院裏的買賣人趕出去，把錢莊的桌子和賣鴿子的凳子推翻， | 15When they reached Jerusalem, Jesus went to the Temple and began to drive away all the people he saw buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money-changers and the stools of those who sold pigeons. |
| 16也不許人帶着器皿由殿院裏經過， | 16And he would not let anyone carry anything through the Temple area. |
| 17教訓他們說：「經上不是記載：『我的殿宇將稱為萬民的祈禱之所』麼？你們竟把它作成了賊窩！」 | 17Jesus then taught the people, "Does not God say in the Scriptures: My house will be called a House of Prayer for all the nations? But you have turned it into a den of thieves." |
| 18司祭長和經師聽了，就設法要怎樣除掉他，卻又害怕他，因為全群眾對他的教訓都驚奇不已。 | 18The chief priests and the teachers of the Law heard of this, and they tried to find a way to destroy him. They were afraid of him because all the people were captivated in his teaching. |
| 19到了晚上，他們就出了城。 | 19When evening came, Jesus left the city. |
| 20早晨，他們從那裏經過時，看見那棵無花果樹連根都枯乾了。 | 20Early next morning, as they walked along the road, the disciples saw the fig tree withered to its roots. |
| 21伯多祿想起來，就對耶穌說：「師傅！看，你所咒罵的無花果樹已枯乾了。」 | 21Peter then said to him, "Master, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered." |
| 22耶穌回答他們說：「你們對天主當有信德！ | 22And Jesus replied, "Have faith in God. |
| 23我實在告訴你們：無論誰對這座山說：起來，投到海裏去！他心裏若不懷疑，反相信他說的必成就，就必給他成就。 | 23Truly, I say to you, if you say to this mountain: 'Get up and throw yourself into the sea,' and have no doubt in your heart but believe that what you say will happen, it will be done for you. |
| 24因此，我告訴你們：你們祈禱，不論求什麼，只要你們相信必得，必給你們成就。 | 24Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it shall be done for you. |
| 25當你們立着祈禱時，若你們有什麼怨人的事，就寬恕罷！好叫你們在天之父，也寬恕你們的過犯。」＊ | 25And when you stand to pray, forgive whatever you may hold against anyone, |
| 26他們又來到耶路撒冷。當耶穌在殿裏徘徊時，司祭長、經師和長老來到他跟前， | 26so that your heavenly Father may also forgive your sins." |
| 27對他說：「你憑什麼權柄作這些事？或者，是誰給了你權柄作這些事？」 | 27They were once again in Jerusalem. As Jesus was walking in the Temple, the chief priests, the teachers of the Law and the elders came to him |
| 28耶穌對他們說：「我也要問你們一句話，你們回答我，我就告訴你們：我憑什麼權柄作這些事。 | 28and asked, "What authority do you have to act like this? Who gave you authority to do the things you do?" |
| 29若翰的洗禮是從天上來的，還是從人來的？答覆我罷！」 | 29Jesus said to them, "I will ask you a question, only one, and if you give me an answer, then I will tell you what authority I have to act like this. |
| 30他們心中思量說：「若我們說：是從天上來的，他就要說：那麼你們為什麼不信他？ | 30Was John's preaching and baptism a work of God, or was it merely something human? Answer me." |
| 31但我們怎敢說：是從人來的呢？」──他們是害怕民眾，因為眾人都以若翰實在是一位先知。 | 31And they kept arguing among themselves, "If we answer that it was a work of God, he will say: 'Why then did you not believe him?'" |
| 32他們便回答耶穌說：「我們不知道。」耶穌也對他們說：「我也不告訴你們：我憑什麼權柄作這些事。」 | 32But neither could they answer before the people that the baptism of John was merely something human, for everyone regarded John as a prophet. |
| 33 | 33So they answered Jesus, "We don't know," and Jesus said to them, "Neither will I tell you what authority I have to act as I do." |
