¹耶穌又對他們說：「我實在告訴你們：站在這裏的人中，就有幾個在未嘗到死味以前，必要看見天主的國帶着威能降來。」	¹And he went on to say, "Truly I tell you, there are some here who will not die before they see the kingdom of God coming with power."
²六天後，耶穌帶着伯多祿、雅各伯和若望，單獨帶領他們上了一座高山，在他們前變了容貌：	²Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain. There his appearance was changed before their eyes.
³他的衣服發光，那樣潔白，世上沒有一個漂布的能漂得那樣白。	³Even his clothes shone, becoming as white as no bleach of this world could make them.
⁴厄里亞和梅瑟也顯現給他們，正在同耶穌談論。	⁴Elijah and Moses appeared to them; the two were talking with Jesus.
⁵伯多祿遂開口對耶穌說：「師傅，我們在這裏真好！讓我們張搭三個帳棚：一個為你，一個為梅瑟，一個為厄里亞。」	⁵Then Peter spoke and said to Jesus, "Master, it is good that we are here; let us make three tents, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah."
⁶他原不知道該說什麼，因為他們都嚇呆了。	⁶For he did not know what to say; they were overcome with awe.
⁷當時，有一團雲彩遮蔽了他們，從雲中有聲音說：「這是我的愛子，你們要聽從他！」	⁷But a cloud formed, covering them in a shadow, and from the cloud came this word, "This is my Son, the Beloved; listen to him."
⁸他們忽然向四周一看，任誰都不見了，只有耶穌同他們在一起。	⁸And suddenly, as they looked around, they no longer saw anyone except Jesus with them.
⁹他們從山上下來的時候，耶穌囑咐他們，非等人子從死者中復活後，不要將他們所見的告訴任何人。	⁹As they came down the mountain, he ordered them to tell no one what they had seen, until the Son of Man be risen from the dead.
¹⁰他們遵守了這話，卻彼此討論從死者中復活是什麼意思。	¹⁰So they kept this to themselves, although they discussed with one another what 'to rise from the dead' could mean.
¹¹他們就問耶穌說：「為什麼經師們說厄里亞應該先來？」	¹¹Finally they asked him, "Why then do the teachers of the Law say that Elijah must come first?"
¹²耶穌對他們說：「厄里亞固然要先來重整一切：但是經上關於人子應受許多痛苦，被人輕慢，是怎樣記載的呢？	¹²Jesus answered them, "Of course, Elijah will come first so that everything may be as it should be... But, why do the Scriptures say that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be despised?
¹³可是，我告訴你們！厄里亞已經來了，人們任意對待了他，正如經上關於他所記載的。」	¹³I tell you that Elijah has already come and they have treated him as they pleased, as the Scriptures say of him."
¹⁴他們來到門徒那裏，看見一大群人圍着他們，經師和他們正在辯論。	¹⁴When they came to the place where they had left the disciples, they saw many people around and some teachers of the Law arguing with them.
¹⁵全民眾一看見了耶穌，就都驚奇，立刻向前跑去問候他。	¹⁵When the people saw Jesus, they were astonished and ran to greet him.
¹⁶耶穌問門徒說：「你們和他們辯論什麼？」	¹⁶He asked, "What are you arguing about with them?" A man answered him from the crowd,
¹⁷群眾中有一個人回答說：「師傅，我帶了我的兒子來見你，他附着一個啞吧魔鬼；	¹⁷"Master, I brought my son to you for he has a dumb spirit.
¹⁸無論在那裏，魔鬼抓住他，就把他摔倒，他就口吐白沬，咬牙切齒，並且僵硬了。我曾請你的門徒把魔鬼逐出，他們卻不能。」	¹⁸Whenever the spirit seizes him, it throws him down and he foams at the mouth, grinds his teeth and becomes stiff all over. I asked your disciples to drive the spirit out, but they could not."
¹⁹耶穌開口向他們說：「哎！無信的世代！我與你們在一起要到幾時呢？我容忍你們要到幾時呢？帶他到我這裏來！」	¹⁹Jesus replied, "You faithless people. How long must I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him to me."
²⁰他們就把孩子領到耶穌跟前。魔鬼一見耶穌，立時使那孩子拘攣了一陣，那孩子便倒在地上，打滾吐沫。	²⁰And they brought the boy to him. As soon as the spirit saw Jesus, it shook and convulsed the boy who fell on the ground and began rolling about, foaming at the mouth.
²¹耶穌問他的父親說：這事發生在他身上有多少時候了？」他回答說：「從小的時候；	²¹Then Jesus asked the father, "How long has this been happening to him?" He replied, "From childhood.
²²魔鬼屢次把他投到火裏或水裏，要害死他。但是，你若能做什麼，你就憐憫我們，幫助我們罷！」	²²And it has often thrown him into the fire and into the water to destroy him. If you can do anything, have pity on us and help us."
²³耶穌對他說：「『你若能，』為信的人，一切都是可能的！」	²³Jesus said to him, "Why do you say: 'If you can?' All things are possible for one who believes."
²⁴小孩子的父親立刻喊說：「我信！請你補助我的無信罷！」	²⁴Immediately the father of the boy cried out, "I do believe, but help the little faith I have."
²⁵耶穌看見群眾都跑過來，就叱責邪魔說：「又聾又啞的魔鬼，我命你從他身上出去！再不要進入他內！」	²⁵Jesus saw that the crowd was increasing rapidly, so he ordered the evil spirit, "Dumb and deaf spirit, I command you: Leave the boy and never enter him again."
²⁶魔鬼就喊叫起來，猛烈地使那孩子拘攣了一陣，就出去了；那孩子好像死了一樣，以致有許多人說：「他死了！」	²⁶The evil spirit shook and convulsed the boy and with a terrible shriek came out. The boy lay like a corpse and people said, "He is dead."
²⁷但是，耶穌握住他的手，拉他起來，他就起來了。	²⁷But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him and the boy stood up.
²⁸耶穌進到家裏，他的門徒私下問他說：「為什麼我們不能趕他出去？」	²⁸After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn't we drive out the spirit?"
²⁹耶穌對他們說：「這一類，非用祈禱【和禁食】，是不能趕出去的。」	²⁹And he answered, "Only prayer can drive out this kind, nothing else."
³⁰他們從那裏起身，經過加里肋亞；耶穌卻不願叫人知道。	³⁰After leaving that place, they made their way through Galilee; but Jesus did not want people to know where he was
³¹因為那時他教訓他的門徒，給他們說：「人子將要被交在人手中，為人所殺；被殺以後，過了三天，他必要復活。」	³¹because he was teaching his disciples. And he told them, "The Son of Man will be delivered into human hands. They will kill him, but three days after he has been killed, he will rise."
³²門徒卻不明白這些話，又害怕詢問他。	³²The disciples, however, did not understand these words and they were afraid to ask him what he meant.
³³他們來到葛法翁，進到家裏，耶穌問他們說：「你們在路上爭論了什麼？」	³³They came to Capernaum and, once inside the house, Jesus asked them, "What were you discussing on the way?"
³⁴他們都默不作聲，因為他們在路上彼此爭論誰最大。	³⁴But they did not answer because they had been arguing about who was the greatest.
³⁵耶穌坐下，叫過那十二人來，給他們說：「誰若想做第一個，他就得做眾人中最末的一個，並要做眾人的僕役。」	³⁵Then he sat down, called the Twelve and said to them, "If someone wants to be first, let him be last of all and servant of all."
³⁶遂領過一個小孩子來，放在門徒中間，抱起他來，給他們說：	³⁶Then he took a little child, placed it in their midst, and putting his arms around it he said to them,
³⁷「誰若因我的名字，收留一個這樣的小孩子，就是收留我；誰若收留我，並不是收留我，而是收留那派遣我來的。」	³⁷"Whoever welcomes a child such as this in my name, welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me, welcomes not me but the One who sent me."
³⁸若望向耶穌說：「師傅！我們見過一個人，他因你的名字驅魔，我們禁止了他，因為他不跟從我們。」	³⁸John said to him, "Master, we saw someone who drove out demons by calling upon your name, and we tried to forbid him because he does not belong to our group."
³⁹耶穌說：「不要禁止他，因為沒有任何人，以我的名字行了奇跡，就會立即誹謗我的，	³⁹Jesus answered, "Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in my name can soon after speak evil of me.
⁴⁰因為誰不反對我們，就是傾向我們。」	⁴⁰For whoever is not against us is for us.
⁴¹「誰若因你們屬於基督，而給你們一杯水喝，我實在告訴你們：他決不會失掉他的賞報。	⁴¹If anyone gives you a drink of water because you belong to Christ and bear his name, truly, I say to you, he will not go without reward.
⁴²誰若使這些信者中的一個小子跌倒，倒不如拿一塊驢拉的磨石，套在他的脖子上，投在海裏，為他更好。	⁴²If anyone should cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble and sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a great millstone around his neck.
⁴³倘若你的手使你跌倒，砍掉它！你殘廢進入生命，比有兩隻手而往地獄裏，到那不滅的火裏去更好。＊	⁴³If your hand makes you fall into sin, cut it off! It is better for you to enter life without a hand than with two hands to go to hell, to the fire that never goes out.
⁴⁵倘若你的腳使你跌倒，砍掉它！你瘸腿進入生命，比有雙腳被投入地獄裏更好。＊	⁴⁵And if your foot makes you fall into sin, cut it off! It is better for you to enter life without a foot than with both feet to be thrown into hell.
⁴⁷倘若你的眼使你跌倒，剜出它來！你一隻眼進入天主的國，比有兩隻眼被投入地獄裏更好，	⁴⁷And if your eye makes you fall into sin, tear it out! It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than, keeping both eyes, to be thrown into hell
⁴⁸那裏的蟲子不死，火也不滅。	⁴⁸where the worms that eat them never die, and the fire never goes out.
⁴⁹因為所有的人都要用火醃起來。	⁴⁹The fire itself will preserve them.
⁵⁰鹽是好的；但鹽若成了不鹹的，你們可用什麼去調和它？在你們中間當有鹽，又該彼此和平相處。」	⁵⁰Salt is a good thing; but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves and be at peace with one another."
