¹在那一天，耶穌從家裏出來，坐在海邊上，	¹That same day Jesus left the house and sat down by the lakeside.
²有許多群眾集合到他跟前，他只得上船坐下，群眾都站在岸上。	²As many people gathered around him, he got in a boat. There he sat while the whole crowd stood on the shore,
³他就用比喻給他們講論了許多事，說：「看，有個撒種的出去撒種；	³and he spoke to them in parables about many things.
⁴他撒種的時候，有的落在路旁，飛鳥來把它吃了。	⁴Jesus said, "The sower went out to sow and, as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path and the birds came and ate them up.
⁵有的落在石頭地裏，那裏沒有多少土壤，因為所有的土壤不深，即刻發了芽；	⁵Other seeds fell on rocky ground where there was little soil, and the seeds sprouted quickly because the soil was not deep.
⁶但太陽一出來，就被曬焦；又因為沒有根，就枯乾了。	⁶But as soon the sun rose the plants were scorched and withered because they had no roots.
⁷有的落在荊棘中，荊棘長起來，便把它們窒息了。	⁷Again other seeds fell among thistles; and the thistles grew and choked the plants.
⁸有的落在好地裏，就結了實：有一百倍的，有六十倍的，有三十倍的。	⁸Still other seeds fell on good soil and produced a crop; some produced a hundredfold, others sixty and others thirty.
⁹有耳的，聽罷！」	⁹If you have ears, then hear!"
¹⁰門徒們前來對他說：「為什麼你用比喻對他們講話？」	¹⁰Then his disciples came to him with the question, "Why do you speak to them in parables?"
¹¹耶穌回答他們說：「因為天國的奧妙，是給你們知道，並不是給他們知道。	¹¹Jesus answered, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but not to these people.
¹²因為凡有的，還要給他，使他富足；但是，凡沒有的，連他所有的，也要由他奪去。	¹²For the one who has, will be given more and he will have in abundance. But the one who does not have will be deprived of even what he has.
¹³為此，我用比喻對他們講話，是因為他們看，卻看不見；聽，卻聽不見，也不了解；	¹³That is why I speak to them in parables, because they look and do not see; they hear, but they do not listen or understand.
¹⁴這樣為他們正應驗了依撒意亞的預言，說：『你們聽是聽，但不了解；看是看，但不明白，	¹⁴In them the words of the prophet Isaiah are fulfilled: Much as you hear, you do not understand; much as you see, you do not perceive.
¹⁵因為這百姓的心遲鈍了，耳朵難以聽見；他們閉了眼睛，免得眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裏了解而轉變，而要我醫好他們。』	¹⁵For the heart of this people has grown dull. Their ears hardly hear and their eyes dare not see. If they were to see with their eyes, hear with their ears and understand with their heart, they would turn back and I would heal them.
¹⁶但你們的眼睛有福，因為看得見；你們的耳朵有福，因為聽得見。	¹⁶But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears, because they hear.
¹⁷我實在告訴你們：有許多先知和義人，想看你們所看見的，而沒有看到；想聽你們所聽見的，而沒有聽到。」	¹⁷For I tell you that many prophets and upright people would have longed to see the things you see, but they did not, and to hear the things you hear, but they did not hear it.
¹⁸「那麼，你們聽這撒種者的比喻罷！	¹⁸Now listen to the parable of the sower.
¹⁹凡聽天國的話，而不了解的，那惡者就來把撒在他心裏的奪去：這是指那撒在路旁的。	¹⁹When a person hears the message of the Kingdom but without taking it to himself, the devil comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed that fell along the footpath.
²⁰那撒在石頭地裏的，即是指人聽了話，立刻高興接受；	²⁰The seed that fell on rocky ground stands for the one who hears the word and accepts it at once with joy.
²¹但在心裏沒有根，不能持久，一旦為這話發生了艱難和迫害，就立刻跌倒了。	²¹But this fickle and has no roots. No sooner is he harassed or persecuted because of the word, than he gives up.
²²那撒在荊棘中的，即是指人聽了話，卻有世俗的焦慮和財富的迷惑，把話蒙住了，結不出果實。	²²The seed that fell among the thistles is the one who hears the word, but then the worries of this life and the love of money choke the word, and it does not bear fruit.
²³那撒在好地裏的，即是指那聽了話而了解的人，他當然結實，有結一百倍的，有結六十倍的，有結三十倍的。」	²³As for the seed that fell on good soil it is the one who hears the word and understands it; this bears fruit and produces a hundred, or sixty, or thirty times more."
²⁴耶穌給他們另設了一個比喻說：「天國好像一個人，在自己田裏撒了好種子；	²⁴Jesus told them another parable, "The kingdom of heaven can be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field.
²⁵但在人睡覺的時候，他的仇人來，在麥子中間撒上莠子，就走了。	²⁵While everyone was asleep, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and left.
²⁶苗長起來，抽出穗的時候，莠子也顯出來了。	²⁶When the plants sprouted and produced grain, the weeds also appeared.
²⁷家主的僕人，就前來對他說：主人！你不是在你田地裏撒了好種子嗎？那麼從那裏來了莠子？	²⁷Then the servants of the owner came to him and said: 'Sir, was it not good seed that you sowed in your field? Where did the weeds come from?'
²⁸家主對他們說：這是仇人做的。僕人對他說：那麼，你願我們去把莠子收集起來嗎？	²⁸He answered them: 'This is the work of an enemy.' They asked him: 'Do you want us to go and pull up the weeds?'
²⁹他卻說：不，免得你們收集莠子，連麥子也拔了出來。	²⁹He told them: 'No, when you pull up the weeds, you might uproot the wheat with them.
³⁰讓兩樣一起長到收割的時候好了；在收割時，我要對收割的人說：你們先收集莠子，把莠子捆成捆，好燃燒，把麥子卻收入我的倉裏。」	³⁰Let them just grow together until harvest; and at harvest time I will say to the workers: Pull up the weeds first, tie them in bundles and burn them; then gather the wheat into my barn."
³¹耶穌給他們另設一個比喻說：「天國好像一粒芥子，人把它撒在自己的田裏。	³¹Jesus put another parable before them, "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, that a man took and sowed in his field.
³²它固然是各樣種子裏最小的，但當它長起來，卻比各種蔬菜都大，竟成了樹，甚至天上的飛鳥飛來，在它的枝上棲息。」	³²It is smaller than all other seeds, but once it has fully grown, it is bigger than any garden plant; like a tree, the birds come and rest in its branches."
³³他又給他們講了一個比喻：「天國好像酵母，女人取來藏在三斗麵裏，直到全部發了酵。」	³³He told them another parable, "The kingdom of heaven is like the yeast which a woman took and buried in three measures of flour until the whole mass of dough began to rise."
³⁴耶穌用比喻給群眾講解了這一切，不用比喻就不給他們講什麼；	³⁴Jesus taught all this to the crowds by means of parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable.
³⁵這樣應驗了先知所說的話：『我要開口說比喻，要說出由創世以來的隱密事。』	³⁵So what the Prophet had said was fulfilled: I will speak in parables. I will proclaim things kept secret since the beginning of the world.
³⁶那時，耶穌離開了群眾，來到家裏，他的門徒就前來對他說：「請把田間莠子的比喻給我們講解一下！」	³⁶Then he sent the crowds away and went into the house. And his disciples came to him saying, "Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field."
³⁷他就回答說：「那撒好種子的，就是人子；	³⁷Jesus answered them, "The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.
³⁸田就是世界；好種子，即是天國的子民，莠子即是邪惡的子民；	³⁸The field is the world; the good seed are the people of the Kingdom; the weeds are those who follow the evil one.
³⁹那撒莠子的仇人，即是魔鬼；收穫時期，即是今世的終結；收割者即是天使。	³⁹The enemy who sows them is the devil; the harvest is the end of time and the workers are the angels.
⁴⁰就如將莠子收集起來，用火焚燒；在今世終結時也將是如此：	⁴⁰Just as the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so will it be at the end of time.
⁴¹人子要差遣他的天使，由他的國內，將一切使人跌倒的事，及作惡的人收集起來，	⁴¹The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom all that is scandalous and all who do evil.
⁴²扔到火窯裏；在那裏要有哀號和切齒。	⁴²And these will be thrown in the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
⁴³那時，義人要在他們父的國裏，發光如同太陽。有耳的，聽罷！」	⁴³Then the just will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. If you have ears, then hear.
⁴⁴「天國好像是藏在地裏的寶貝；人找到了，就把它藏起來，高興地去賣掉他所有的一切，買了那塊地。」	⁴⁴The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field. The one who finds it buries it again; and so happy is he, that he goes and sells everything he has, in order to buy that field.
⁴⁵「天國又好像一個尋找完美珍珠的商人；	⁴⁵Again the kingdom of heaven is like a trader who is looking for fine pearls.
⁴⁶他一找到一顆寶貴的珍珠，就去，賣掉他所有的一切，買了它。」	⁴⁶Once he has found a pearl of exceptional quality, he goes away, sells everything he has and buys it.
⁴⁷「天國又好像撒在海裏的網，網羅各種的魚。	⁴⁷Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a big fishing net let down into the sea, in which every kind of fish has been caught.
⁴⁸網一滿了，人就拉上岸來，坐下，揀好的，放在器皿裏；壞的，扔在外面。	⁴⁸When the net is full, it is dragged ashore. Then they sit down and gather the good fish in buckets, but throw the worthless ones away.
⁴⁹在今世的終結時，也將如此：天使要出去，把惡人由義人中分開，	⁴⁹That is how it will be at the end of time; the angels will go out to separate the wicked from the just
⁵⁰把他們扔在火窯裏；在那裏要有哀號和切齒。	⁵⁰and throw them into the blazing furnace, where they will weep and gnash their teeth."
⁵¹這一切你們都明白了嗎？」他們說：「是的。」	⁵¹Jesus asked, "Have you understood all these things?" "Yes," they answered.
⁵²他就對他們說：「為此，凡成為天國門徒的經師，就好像一個家主，從他的寶庫裏，提出新的和舊的東西。」	⁵²So he said to them, "You will see that every teacher of the Law who becomes a disciple of the Kingdom is like a householder who can produce from his store things both new and old."
⁵³耶穌講完了這些比喻，就從那裏走了。	⁵³When Jesus had finished these parables, he left the place.
⁵⁴他來到自己的家鄉，在會堂裏教訓人，以致人們都驚訝說：「這人從那裏得了這樣的智慧和奇能？	⁵⁴He went to his hometown and taught the people in their synagogue. They were amazed and said, "Where did he get this wisdom and these special powers?
⁵⁵這人不是那木匠的兒子？他旳母親不是叫瑪利亞，他的弟兄不是叫雅各伯、若瑟、西滿和猶達嗎？	⁵⁵Isn't he the carpenter's son? Isn't Mary his mother and aren't James, Joseph, Simon and Judas his brothers?
⁵⁶他的姊妹不是都在我們這裏嗎？那麼他的這一切是從那裏來的呢？」	⁵⁶Aren't all his sisters living here? How did he get all this?"
⁵⁷他們就對他起了反感。耶穌卻對他們說：「先知除了在自己的本鄉本家外，沒有不受尊敬的。」	⁵⁷And so they took offense at him. Jesus said to them, "The only place where prophets are not welcome is their hometown and in their own family."
⁵⁸他在那裏，因為他們不信，沒有多行奇能。	⁵⁸And he did not perform many miracles there because of their lack of faith.
