| 1耶穌講完了這一切話，便對他的門徒說： | 1When Jesus had finished all he wanted to say, he told his disciples, |
| 2「你們知道：兩天以後就是逾越節，人子要被解送，被釘在十字架上。」 | 2"You know that in two days' time it will be the Passover and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified." |
| 3那時，司祭長和民間長老，都聚集在名叫蓋法的大司祭的庭院內， | 3Then the chief priests and the Jewish authorities gathered together at the palace of the High Priest whose name was Caiaphas, |
| 4共同議決要用詭計捉拿耶穌，加以殺害。 | 4and they agreed to trap Jesus and kill him. |
| 5但是他們說：「不可在慶節期內，免得民間發生暴動。」 | 5But they said among themselves, "Not during the feast, lest there be an uprising among the people." |
| 6耶穌正在伯達尼癩病人西滿家裏時， | 6While Jesus was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, |
| 7有一個女人拿着一玉瓶貴重的香液來到耶穌跟前，倒在正坐席的耶穌的頭上。 | 7a woman came up to him carrying a precious jar of expensive perfume. She poured it on Jesus' head as he was at table. |
| 8門徒們見了就不滿意說：「為什麼這樣浪費？ | 8Seeing this the disciples became indignant, protesting, "What a useless waste! |
| 9這香液原可賣得許多錢，施捨給窮人。」 | 9The perfume could have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor." |
| 10耶穌知道了，就對他們說：「你們為什麼叫這個女人難受？她在我身上原是作了一件善事。 | 10But Jesus was aware of this, so he said to them, "Why are you troubling this woman? What she has just done for me is indeed a good work. |
| 11你們常有窮人同你們在一起，至於我，你們卻不常有。 | 11You always have the poor with you but you will not have me forever. |
| 12她把這香液倒在我身上，原是為安葬我而作的。 | 12She was preparing for my funeral when she anointed my body with this perfume. |
| 13我實在告訴你們：將來在全世界，這福音無論傳到那裏，必要述說她所的事，來紀念她。」 | 13Truly, I say to you: wherever the Gospel is proclaimed, all over the world, what she has done will be told in praise of her." |
| 14隨後，那十二人中之一，名叫猶達斯依斯加略的，去見司祭長， | 14Then one of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went off to the chief priests and said, |
| 15說：「我把他交給你們，你們願意給我什麼？」他們約定給他三十塊銀錢。 | 15"How much will you give me if I hand him over to you?" They promised to give him thirty pieces of silver, |
| 16從此他便尋找機會，要把耶穌交出。 | 16and from then on he kept looking for the best way to hand him over to them. |
| 17無酵節的第一天，門徒前來對耶穌說：「你願意我們在那裏，給你預備吃逾越節晚餐？」 | 17On the first day of the Festival of the Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and said to him, "Where do you want us to prepare the Passover meal for you?" |
| 18耶穌說：「你們進城去見某人，對他說：師傅說：我的時候近了，我要與我的門徒在你那裏舉行逾越節。」 | 18Jesus answered, "Go into the city, to the house of a certain man, and tell him: 'The Master says: My hour is near, and I will celebrate the Passover with my disciples in your house." |
| 19門徒就照耶穌吩咐他們的作了，預備了逾越節晚餐。 | 19The disciples did as Jesus had ordered and prepared the Passover meal. |
| 20到了晚上，耶穌與十二門徒坐席。 | 20When it was evening, Jesus sat at table with the Twelve. |
| 21他們正吃晚餐的時候，耶穌說：「我實在告訴你們：你們中有一個人要出賣我。」 | 21While they were eating, Jesus said, "Truly, I say to you: one of you will betray me." |
| 22他們非常憂悶，開始各自對他說：「主，難道是我嗎？」 | 22They were deeply distressed and asked him in turn, "You do not mean me, do you, Lord?" |
| 23耶穌回答說：「那同我一起把手蘸在盤子裏的人，要出賣我。 | 23He answered, "He who will betray me is one of those who dips his bread in the dish with me. |
| 24人子固然要按照指着他所記載的而去，但出賣人子的那人卻是有禍的！那人若沒有生，為他更好。」 | 24The Son of Man is going as the Scriptures say he will. But alas for that one who betrays the Son of Man; better for him not to have been born." |
| 25那要出賣他的猶達斯也開口問耶穌說：「辣彼，難道是我嗎？」耶穌對他說：「你說的是。」 | 25Judas, who was betraying him, also asked, "You do not mean me, Master, do you?" Jesus replied, "You have said it." |
| 26他們正吃晚餐的時候，耶穌拿起餅來，祝福了，擘開遞給門徒說：「你們拿去吃罷！這是我的身體。」 | 26While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said a blessing and broke it, and gave it to his disciples saying, "Take and eat; this is my body." |
| 27然後，又拿起杯來，祝謝了，遞給他們說：「你們都由其中喝罷！ | 27Then he took a cup and gave thanks, and passed it to them saying, "Drink this, all of you, |
| 28因為這是我的血，新約的血，為大眾傾流，以赦免罪過。 | 28for this is my blood, the blood of the Covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. |
| 29我告訴你們：從今以後，我不再喝這葡萄汁了，直到在我父的國裏那一天，與你們同喝新酒。」 | 29Yes, I say to you: I will not taste the fruit of the vine from now until the day I drink new wine with you in my Father's kingdom." |
| 30他們唱了聖詠，就出來往橄欖山去。 | 30After singing psalms of praise, they went out to the Mount of Olives. |
| 31那時，耶穌對他們說：「今夜你們都要為我的緣故跌倒，因為經上記載：『我要打擊牧人，羊群就要四散。』 | 31Then Jesus said to them, "You will falter tonight because of me, and all will fall. For the Scripture says: I will strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered. |
| 32但是，我復活後，要在你們以先到加里肋亞去。」 | 32But after my resurrection I will go ahead of you to Galilee." |
| 33伯多祿卻回答他說：「即便眾人都為你的緣故跌倒，我決不會跌倒。」 | 33Peter responded, "Even though all doubt you and fall, I will never fall." |
| 34耶穌對他說：「我實在告訴你：今夜雞叫以前，你要三次不認我。」 | 34Jesus replied, "Truly, I say to you: this very night before the cock crows, you will deny me three times." |
| 35伯多祿對他說：「即便我該同你一起死，我也決不會不認你。」眾門徒也都這樣說了。 | 35Peter said, "Though I have to die with you, I will never deny you." And all the disciples said the same. |
| 36隨後，耶穌同他們來到一個名叫革責瑪尼的莊園裏，便對門徒說：「你們坐在這裏，等我到那邊去祈禱。」 | 36Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, "Sit here while I go over to pray." |
| 37遂帶了伯多祿和載伯德的兩個兒子同去，開始憂悶恐怖起來， | 37He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be filled with anguish and distress. |
| 38對他們說：「我的心靈憂悶得要死，你們留在這裏同我一起醒寤罷！」 | 38And he said to them, "My soul is filled with sorrow even to death. Remain here and stay awake with me." |
| 39他稍微前行，就俯首至地祈禱說：「我父！若是可能，就讓這杯離開我罷！但不要照我，而要照你所願意的。」 | 39He went a little farther and fell to the ground, with his face touching the earth, and prayed, "Father, if it is possible, take this cup away from me. Yet not what I want, but what you want." |
| 40他來到門徒那裏，見他們睡着了，便對伯多祿說：「你們竟不能同我醒寤一個時辰嗎？ | 40He went back to his disciples and found them asleep, and he said to Peter, "Could you not stay awake with me for even an hour? |
| 41醒寤祈禱罷！免陷於誘惑；心神固然切願，但肉體卻軟弱。」 | 41Stay awake and pray, so that you may not slip into temptation. The spirit indeed is eager, but human nature is weak." |
| 42他第二次再去祈禱說：「我父！如果這杯不能離去，非要我喝不可，就成就你的意願罷！」 | 42He again went away and prayed, "Father, if this cup cannot be taken away from me without my drinking it, let your will be done." |
| 43他又回來，見他們仍然睡着，因為他們的眼睛很是沈重。 | 43When he came back to his disciples, he again found them asleep, for they could not keep their eyes open. |
| 44他再離開他們，第三次去祈禱，又說了同樣的話。 | 44He left them and again went to pray the third time, saying the same words. |
| 45然後回到門徒那裏，對他們說：「你們睡下去罷！休息罷！看，時候到了，人子就要被交於罪人手裏。 | 45Then he came back to his disciples and said to them, "You can sleep on now and take your rest! The hour has come and the Son of Man is now given over into the power of sinners. |
| 46起來，我們去罷！看，那出賣我的已來近了。」 | 46Get up, let us go. Look: the betrayer is here." |
| 47他還在說話的時候，看！那十二人中之一的猶達斯來了；同他一起的，還有許多帶着刀劍棍棒的群眾，是由司祭長和民間的長老派來的。 | 47Jesus was still speaking when Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a crowd armed with swords and clubs, who had been sent by the chief priests and the Jewish authorities. |
| 48那出賣耶穌的給了他們一個暗號說：「我口親誰，誰就是，你們拿住他。」 | 48The traitor had arranged a signal for them: "The one I kiss, he is the man; arrest him." |
| 49猶達斯一來到耶穌跟前，就說：「辣彼，你好！」就口親了他。 | 49And he went directly to Jesus and said, "Good evening, Master" and he gave him a kiss. |
| 50耶穌卻對他說：「朋友，你來做的事就做罷！」於是他們上前，向耶穌下手，拿住了他。 | 50But Jesus said to him, "Friend, do what you came for." Then they laid hold of Jesus and arrested him. |
| 51有同耶穌在一起的一個人，伸手拔出自己的劍，砍了大司祭的僕人一劍，削去了他的一個耳朵。 | 51One of those who were with Jesus drew his sword and struck at the servant of the High Priest, cutting off his ear. |
| 52耶穌遂對他說：「把你的劍放回原處，因為凡持劍的，必死在劍下。 | 52So Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back into its place, for he who uses the sword will perish by the sword. |
| 53你想我不能要求我父，即刻給我調動十二軍以上的天使嗎？ | 53Do you not know that I could call on my Father, and he would at once send me more than twelve legions of angels. |
| 54若這樣，怎能應驗經上所載應如此成就的事呢？」 | 54If Scripture says that this has to be, should it not be fulfilled?" |
| 55在那時，耶穌對群眾說：「你們帶着刀劍棍棒出來拿我，如同對付強盜。我天天坐在聖殿內施教，你們沒有拿我。」 | 55At that moment, Jesus said to the crowd, "Why do you come to arrest me with swords and clubs, as if I were a robber? Day after day I was seated among you teaching in the Temple, yet you did not arrest me. |
| 56這一切都發生了，是為應驗先知所記載的。於是門徒都撇下他逃跑了。 | 56But all this has come about in fulfillment of what the Prophets said." Then all his disciples deserted him and fled. |
| 57那些拿住耶穌的人，將耶穌帶到大司祭蓋法前；經師和長老已聚集在那裏。 | 57Those who had arrested Jesus brought him to the house of the High Priest Caiaphas, where the teachers of the Law and the Jewish authorities were assembled. |
| 58伯多祿遠遠跟着耶穌，直到大司祭的庭院，他也進到裏面，坐在差役中觀看結局。 | 58Peter followed him at a distance as far as the courtyard of the High Priest; he entered and sat with the guards, waiting to see the end. |
| 59司祭長和全公議會尋找相反耶穌的假證據，要把他處死。 | 59The chief priests and the whole Supreme Council needed some false evidence against Jesus, so that they might put him to death. |
| 60雖然有許多假見證出庭，但沒有找出什麼。最後有兩個人上前來， | 60But they were unable to find any, even though false witnesses came forward. |
| 61說：「這人曾經說過：我能拆毀天主的聖殿，在三天內我能把它重建起來。」 | 61At last, two men came up and declared, "This man said: I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days." |
| 62大司祭就站起來，對他說：「這些人作證反對你的事，你什麼也不回答嗎？」 | 62The High Priest then stood up and asked Jesus, "Have you no answer at all? What is this evidence against you?" |
| 63耶穌卻不出聲。於是大司祭對他說：「我因生活的天主，起誓命你告訴我們：你是不是默西亞，天主之子？」 | 63But Jesus kept silent. So the High Priest said to him, "In the name of the living God, I command you to tell us: Are you the Messiah, the Son of God?" |
| 64耶穌對他說：「你說的是。並且，我告訴你們：從此你們將要看見人子坐在大能者的右邊，乘着天上的雲彩降來。」 | 64Jesus answered, "It is just as you say. I tell you more: from now on, you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Most Powerful God and coming on the clouds of heaven." |
| 65大司祭遂撕裂自己的衣服說：「他說了褻瀆的話。何必還需要見證呢？你們剛纔聽到了這褻瀆的話， | 65Then the High Priest tore his clothes, saying, "He has blasphemed. What more evidence do we need? You have just heard these blasphemous words. |
| 66你們以為該怎樣？」他們回答說：「他該死。」 | 66What is your decision?" They answered, "He must die!" |
| 67眾人遂即向他臉上吐唾沫，用拳頭打他；另有一些人也用巴掌打他， | 67Then they began to spit on Jesus and slap him while others hit him with their fists, |
| 68說：「默西亞，你猜猜是誰打你？」 | 68saying, "Messiah, prophesy! Who hit you?" |
| 69伯多祿在外面庭院裏坐着，有一個使女來到他跟前說：「你也是同那加里肋亞人耶穌一起的。」 | 69Meanwhile, as Peter sat outside in the courtyard, a young servant-girl of the house said to him, "You also were with Jesus of Galilee." |
| 70他當着眾人否認說：「我不知道你說的是什麼。」 | 70But he denied it before everyone, saying, "I do not know what you are talking about." |
| 71他出去到了門廊，另有一個使女看見他，就對那裏的人說：「這人是同那納匝肋人耶穌一起的。」 | 71And as Peter was going out to the gateway, another servant-girl saw him and told the bystanders, "This man was with Jesus of Nazareth." |
| 72他又發誓否認說：「我不認識這個人。」 | 72Peter denied it again with an oath, swearing, "I do not know that man." |
| 73過了一會，站在那裏的人前來對伯多祿說：「的確，你也是他們中的一個，因為你的口音把你露出來了」 | 73After a little while, those who were standing there approached Peter and said to him, "Of course you are one of the Galileans; your accent gives you away." |
| 74伯多祿就開始詛咒發誓說：「我不認識這個人。」立時雞就叫了。 | 74Peter began justifying himself with curses and oaths protesting that he did not know the man. Just then a cock crowed. |
| 75伯多祿便想起耶穌所說的話來：「雞叫以前，你要三次不認我。」他一到了外面，就傷心痛哭起來。 | 75And Peter remembered the words of Jesus, "Before the cock crows, you will deny me three times." And he went away weeping bitterly. |
