| 1以色列人出埃及國後第二年二月一日，上主在西乃曠野於會幕內訓示梅瑟說： | 1Yahweh spoke to Moses, in the desert of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after their departure from the land of Egypt. He said: |
| 2「你們要依照以色列子民的宗族和家系，統計全會眾的人口，把男丁的姓名都一一登記。 | 2"Take a census of the whole community of Israel, by clans and families, taking a count of the names of all the males, head by head. |
| 3在以色列中，凡二十歲以上能上陣作戰的，你和亞郎要一隊一隊地統計。 | 3You and Aaron will enlist all men of Israel, twenty years of age and over, able to give military service. |
| 4每一支派有一人同你們合作，他們都是各宗族的族長。 | 4From each tribe you shall take a man, the head of his family, to help you in this. |
| 5那協助你們的人名如下：勒烏本支派，是舍德烏爾的兒子厄里族爾； | 5These are the names of those who are to be your helpers: For Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur. |
| 6西默盎支派，是族黎沙待的兒子舍路米耳； | 6For Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai. |
| 7猶大支派，是阿米納達布的兒子納赫雄； | 7For Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab. |
| 8依撒加爾支派，是族阿爾的兒子乃塔乃耳； | 8For Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar. |
| 9則步隆支派，是赫隆的兒子厄里雅布； | 9For Zebu-lun, Eliab son of Helon. |
| 10若瑟的兩個兒子：厄弗辣因支派，是阿米胡得的兒子厄里沙瑪；默納協支派，是培達族爾的兒子加默里耳； | 10Of the sons of Joseph: for Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud; for Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur. |
| 11本雅明支派，是基德敖尼的兒子阿彼丹； | 11For Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni. |
| 12丹支派，是阿米沙待的兒子阿希厄則爾； | 12For Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai. |
| 13阿協爾支派，是敖革蘭的兒子帕革厄耳； | 13For Asher, Pagiel son of Ochran. |
| 14加得支派，是勒烏耳的兒子厄肋雅撒夫； | 14For Gad, Eliasaph son of Reuel. |
| 15納斐塔里支派，是厄南的兒子阿希辣。」 | 15For Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan." |
| 16這些人是由會眾中選出來的，都是他們宗族的領袖，以色列的千夫長。 | 16These men were elected by public acclamation; they were leaders of their ancestral clans, chiefs of Israel's hosts. |
| 17梅瑟和亞郎就帶着這些提名派定的人， | 17Moses and Aaron took these men who had been named, |
| 18於二月一日召集了全會眾，人都依照宗族和家系登了記，由二十歲以上的，都一一將姓名登了記。 | 18and on the first day of the second month they called together the whole community. The sons of Israel listed their names according to their clans and families, and one by one the names of all men of twenty years and over were recorded and counted. |
| 19上主怎樣吩咐了梅瑟，梅瑟就怎樣在西乃曠野統計了他們。 | 19As Yahweh had commanded, Moses took a census of them in the desert of Sinai. |
| 20以色列的長子勒烏本子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的男子，都一一將姓名登了記； | 20When the tribe of Reuben, Israel's firstborn, had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 21勒烏本支派登記的，計有四萬六千五百。 | 21The total of these for the tribe of Reuben was 46,500. |
| 22西默盎子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的男子，都一一將姓名登了記， | 22When the tribe of Simeon had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 23西默盎支派登記的，計有五萬九千三百。 | 23The total of these for the tribe of Simeon was 59,300. |
| 24加得子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； | 24When the tribe of Gad had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service were recorded one by one. |
| 25加得支派登記的，計有四萬五千六百五十。 | 25The total of these for the tribe of Gad was 45,650. |
| 26猶大子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； | 26When the tribe of Judah had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 27猶大支派登記的，計有七萬四千六百。 | 27The total of these for the tribe of Judah was 74,600. |
| 28依撒加爾子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記， | 28When the tribe of Issachar had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service were recorded one by one. |
| 29依撒加爾支派登記的，計有五萬四千四百。 | 29The total of these for the tribe of Issachar was 54,400. |
| 30則步隆子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； | 30When the tribe of Zebulun had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 31則步隆支派登記的，計有五萬七千四百。 | 31The total of these for the tribe of Zebulun was 57,400. |
| 32若瑟的子孫：厄弗辣因子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； | 32The descendants of Joseph: when the tribe of Ephraim had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 33厄弗辣因支派登記的，計有四萬五百。 | 33The total of these for the tribe of Ephraim was 40,500. |
| 34默納協子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的男子，都一一將姓名登了記； | 34When the tribe of Manasseh had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 35默納協支派登記的，計有三萬二千二百。 | 35The total of these for the tribe of Manasseh was 32,200. |
| 36本雅明子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； | 36When the tribe of Benjamin had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 37本雅明支派登記的，計有三萬五千四百。 | 37The total of these for the tribe of Benjamin was 35,400. |
| 38丹子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； | 38When the tribe of Dan had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service were recorded one by one. |
| 39丹支派登記的，計有六萬二千七百。 | 39The total of these for the tribe of Dan was 62,700. |
| 40阿協爾子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； | 40When the tribe of Asher had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 41阿協爾支派登記的，計有四萬一千五百。 | 41The total of these for the tribe of Asher was 41,500. |
| 42納斐塔里子孫的後裔，依照宗族和家系，二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的，都將姓名登了記； | 42When the tribe of Napthali had been listed by clans and families, the names of all the males of twenty years and over, able to give military service, were recorded one by one. |
| 43納斐塔里支派登記的，計有五萬三千四百： | 43The total of these for the tribe of Napthali was 53,400. |
| 44以上是梅瑟和亞郎並以色列的首領十二人──每宗族一人──所登記的人數。 | 44Such were the men registered by Moses, Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each representing his tribe. |
| 45以色列中二十歲以上，凡能上陣作戰的以色列子民，全依照宗族和家系登了記。 | 45Every man of Israel of twenty years and over, able to give military service, was counted according to his tribe. |
| 46全體登記的總數，是六十萬三千五百五十。 | 46Altogether the full total was 603,550. |
| 47但是肋未人沒有依照自己的宗派同他們一起登記， | 47But the Levites and their tribe were not included in the count. |
| 48因為上主曾訓示梅瑟說： | 48Yahweh spoke to Moses and said: |
| 49「只有肋未支派，不要登記，不要將他們列在以色列子民內。 | 49"Do not take any census of the Levites, or register them among the sons of Israel. |
| 50你應派肋未人管理會幕和其中一切器皿，並一切附屬物。他們要搬運會幕和其中一切器皿，在會幕中服務，住在會幕的四周。 | 50You yourself must enlist the Levites to serve the Holy Tent of the Testimony and to look after its furnishings and its belongings. They are to carry the Holy Tent, and all its furnishings; they are to take care of it and set up their camp around it. |
| 51會幕要遷移時，肋未人拆卸；會幕要搭紮時，肋未人張搭；若俗人走近，應處死刑。 | 51Whenever the Holy Tent is to be moved, the Levites shall take it down; whenever the Holy Tent is to be set up again, they shall do this. Any layman coming near it must be put to death. |
| 52以色列子民應分隊紮營，各歸本旗。 | 52The sons of Israel are to set up their tents in formation, each man with his own group and under his own banner. |
| 53但肋未人應在會幕四周紮營，免得以色列子民會眾觸犯天怒；肋未人應負責看守會幕。」 | 53But the Levites are to set up their tents around the Holy Tent of the Testimony, lest God's anger fall on the whole community of Israel. The Levites will take care of the Holy Tent of the Testimony." |
| 54以色列子民都照辦了；上主怎樣吩咐了梅瑟，他們就怎樣辦了。 | 54The sons of Israel did exactly as Yahweh had commanded Moses. |
