| 1智慧建造了房舍，雕琢了七根石柱， | 1Wisdom has built her house set upon seven pillars; |
| 2宰殺了牲畜，配製了美酒，舖設了飯桌， | 2she has slaughtered her beasts, prepared her wine and laid her table. |
| 3派出自己的使女，在城市高處吶喊： | 3Next, she sent her servants to call from the central square of the city, |
| 4「誰是無知的，請轉身到這裏來！」她對愚鈍的人說： | 4"Pass by here, you who are fools." To the senseless she says, |
| 5「你們來，吃我的食糧，飲我配製的酒！ | 5"Come, eat and drink of the bread and wine I have prepared. |
| 6你們應放棄無知，好使你們得以生存，並在明智的道路上邁進。」 | 6Give up your foolishness and you will live; take the straight path of discernment." |
| 7誰矯正輕狂的人，只有自招羞辱；誰責斥邪惡的人，只有自找凌辱。 | 7He who corrects a mocker gains insults; and he who reprimands an evildoer receives abuse. |
| 8你不要責斥輕狂的人，免得他恨你；卻要責斥明智的人，他必會愛你。 | 8Do not rebuke the mocker lest he hate you, but counsel the wise who will be grateful. |
| 9你若指教明智的人，他必更明智；你若教訓正義的人，他必更有見識。 | 9Give to the wise man and he will become wiser each day; teach an upright man and he will increase his wisdom. |
| 10敬畏上主是智慧的肇基；認識至聖者就是睿智。 | 10Fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom and to know the Holy One brings discernment. |
| 11藉着我，你的歲月纔可增多，你的壽命纔可延長。 | 11Then I will multiply your days and increase your years of life. |
| 12你若有智慧，你必蒙受其惠；你若是輕狂也只有自食其果。 | 12If you are wise your wisdom will work to your advantage, but if you mock you alone will be harmed. |
| 13愚昧太太，浮燥愚蠢，一無所知。 | 13Lady Foolishness is impetuous, a simpleton who knows nothing. |
| 14她坐在自家門前，坐在城內高處的座位上， | 14She sits at the door of her house, on a throne in the central square of the city, |
| 15向一往直前的路人喊說： | 15to invite all passersby, "Come here, whoever is ignorant." |
| 16「誰是無知的，請轉身到這裏來！」向愚鈍的人說： | 16To the foolish she says, |
| 17「偷來的水，更香甜；背地吃的餅，更有味。」 | 17"Stolen waters are sweet and pilfered bread is the tastiest." |
| 18他卻不知冥域正在那裏，她的客人都在陰府的深處。 | 18But he does not see the Shadow world lying there; nor realize that its guests are heading towards the abyss of death. |
