| 1我們強壯者，該擔待不強壯者的軟弱，不可只求自己的喜悅。 | 1We, the strong and liberated, should bear the weakness of those who are not strong, instead of pleasing ourselves. |
| 2我們每人都該求近人的喜悅，使他受益，得以建立， | 2Let each of us bring joy to our neighbors helping them for the good purpose, for building up. |
| 3因為連基督也沒有尋求自己的喜悅，如所記載的：「辱罵你者的辱罵，都落在我身上。」 | 3Christ himself did not look for his own contentment, as Scripture says: The insults of those insulting you fell upon me. |
| 4其實，凡經上所寫的，都是為教訓我們而寫的，為叫我們因着經典上所教訓的忍耐和安慰，獲得希望。 | 4And we know that whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction, for both perseverance and comfort given us by the Scripture sustain our hope. |
| 5願賜忍耐和安慰的天主，賞賜你們倣效耶穌基督的榜樣，彼此同心合意， | 5May God, the source of all perseverance and comfort, give to all of you to live in peace in Christ Jesus, |
| 6好一心一口光榮我們的主耶穌基督的天主和父。 | 6that you may be able to praise in one voice God, Father of Christ Jesus, our Lord. |
| 7為此，你們要為光榮天主而彼此接納，猶如基督也接納了你們一樣。 | 7Welcome, then, one another, as Christ welcomed you for the glory of God. |
| 8我是要說：基督為了彰顯天主的真實，成了「割損」的僕役，為實踐向先祖們所賜的恩許， | 8Look: Christ put himself at the service of the Jewish world to fulfill the promises made by God to their ancestors; here you see God's faithfulness. |
| 9而也使外邦人因天主的憐憫而去光榮天主，正如所記載的：「為此，我要在異民中稱謝你，歌頌你的聖名。」 | 9The pagans instead give thanks to God for his mercy, as Scripture says: Because of that, I will sing and praise your name among the pagans. |
| 10又說：「異民！你們要和他的百姓一同歡樂！」 | 10And in another place: Rejoice, pagan nations, with God's people. |
| 11又說：「列國萬民，請讚美上主！一切民族，請歌頌他！」 | 11And again: Praise the Lord, all people and let all nations speak of his magnificence. |
| 12依撒意亞又說：「葉瑟的根苗將要出現，要起來統治外邦人；外邦人都要寄望於他。」 | 12Isaiah says: A descendant of Jesse will come who will rule the pagan nations and they will hope in him. |
| 13願賜望德的天主，因着你們的信心，使你們充滿各種喜樂和平安，使你們因着聖神的德能，富於望德。結論宗徒的計劃 | 13May God, the source of hope, fill you with joy and peace in the faith, so that your hope may increase by the power of the Holy Spirit. |
| 14我的弟兄們，我本人深信你們是充滿善意，滿備各種知識的，並能彼此勸勉。 | 14As for me, brothers and sisters, I am convinced that you have goodwill, knowledge and the capacity to advise each other; |
| 15我給你們寫信未免有些大膽，不過我只想喚起你們的回憶，因為天主賜給了我恩寵， | 15nevertheless I have written boldly in some parts of this letter to remind you of what you already know. I do this according to the grace God has given to me |
| 16使我為外邦人成了耶穌基督的使臣，天主福音的司祭，好使外邦人經聖神的祝聖，成為可悅納的祭品。 | 16when I was sent to the pagan nations. I dedicate myself to the service of the Good News of God as a priest of Christ Jesus, in order to present the non-Jews to God as an agreeable offering consecrated by the Holy Spirit. |
| 17所以對於事奉天主的事，我可以在耶穌基督內誇口， | 17This service of God is for me a cause of pride in Christ Jesus. |
| 18因為我不敢提及別的，只說基督藉我，以言語，以行動，藉着奇蹟、異事的能力和天主聖神的德能，所作的使外邦人歸順的事， | 18Of course, I would not dare to speak of other things but what Christ himself has done through me, my words and my works, |
| 19以致我從耶路撒冷及其四周，直到依里黎苛，傳遍了基督的福音； | 19with miracles and signs, by the power of the Holy Spirit - so that non-Jews may obey the faith. In this way I have extended the Good News to all parts, from Jerusalem to Illiricum. |
| 20並且專在沒有認識基督的地方傳佈福音，引以為榮，免得我在別人的基礎上建築， | 20I have been very careful, however, and I am proud of this, not to preach in places where Christ is already known, and not to build upon foundations laid by others. |
| 21如經上記載的：「那些關於他沒有得到傳報的人，必要看見；那些沒有聽說過的人，必要明瞭。」 | 21Let it be as Scripture says: Those not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand. |
| 22這就是我屢次被阻延，不能到你們那裏去的原故。 | 22This work has prevented me from going to you. |
| 23但如今在這一帶再沒有可傳的地方了，而且多年以來，我就有到你們那裏去的心願， | 23But now there is no more place for me in these regions, and as I have wanted for so long to go and see you, |
| 24所以當我往西班牙去的時候，我希望中途能見到你們，得以稍微滿足我見你們的心願，然後由你們送我上道。 | 24I hope to visit you when I go to Spain. Then you could help me go to that nation, once I have fully enjoyed your company. |
| 25不過，現在我要起身往耶路撒冷去，為供應聖徒， | 25Right now I am going to Jerusalem to help that community. |
| 26因為馬其頓和阿哈雅人，甘心樂意為耶路撒冷的貧苦聖徒捐了一筆款項； | 26Know that the churches of Macedonia and Achaia have decided to make a contribution for the poor among the believers of Jerusalem. |
| 27說他們甘心樂意，其實他們是欠他們的債。因為外邦人既分沾了他們的神恩，也就該在物質上扶助他們。 | 27They have decided to do that and, in fact, they were indebted to them. For the non-Jews have shared the spiritual goods of the Jews and now they must help them materially. |
| 28所以我一辦妥了這事，向他們交代了這項捐款以後，便要路過你們那裏，往西班牙去。 | 28So I am to complete this task and give over the amount that has been collected. Then I will go to you and from there to Spain. |
| 29我知道，我去你們那裏，必要滿帶基督的祝福而去。 | 29And I am sure that when I go to you, I will go with all the blessings of God. |
| 30弟兄們！我因我們的主耶穌基督，並因聖神的愛，請求你們，以你們為我在天主前的祈禱，與我一起奮鬥， | 30I beg of you, brothers and sisters, by Christ Jesus our Lord and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in the fight, praying to God for me; |
| 31使我脫免在猶太地不信者的手，並使我帶到耶路撒冷的款項，得蒙聖徒悅納。 | 31pray that I may avoid the snares of the enemies of faith in Judea, and that the community of Jerusalem may welcome the help I bring. |
| 32這樣，可使我照天主的旨意，高興地到你們那裏去，同你們一起稍微休息。 | 32And so I will go to you with joy and, God willing, be refreshed in your company. |
| 33願賜平安的天主與你們眾人同在！阿們。 | 33The God of peace be with you. Amen. |
