| 1又有萬軍上主的話： | 1The word of Yahweh, the God of hosts was directed to me in this way, |
| 2萬軍的上主這樣說：「我以極度的妒愛，愛着熙雍，為了她我發了很大的妒恨。 | 2"I am intensely jealous for Zion, stirred by a burning anger for her sake. |
| 3上主這樣說：我要返回熙雍，住在耶路撒冷；耶路撒冷將稱為『忠城』，萬軍上主的山將稱為『聖山』。」 | 3Yahweh says: I will return to Zion and live in her midst. Jerusalem shall be called City of faithfulness and the Mountain of Yahweh of hosts, the Mountain of holiness." |
| 4萬軍的上主這樣說：「將有老夫老婦坐在耶路撒冷各街市上，每人因年高老邁，手中扶着拐杖； | 4Yahweh, God of hosts speaks, "Old men and women will again sit in the squares, each with a stick in hand on account of their great age. |
| 5城裏街市上，都要滿了男女兒童，在街市上遊戲。 | 5The squares of the city will be filled with girls and boys playing." |
| 6萬軍的上主這樣說：到那些時日，這事在這百姓的遺民眼中是件奇事，難道在我眼中也是件奇事嗎？──萬軍上主的斷語。 | 6Yahweh, God of hosts declares, "If that seems impossible in the eyes of those who have returned from exile, will it be impossible for me as well?" - word of Yahweh. |
| 7萬軍的上主這樣說：看，我要由日出之地和日落之地救回我的百姓； | 7Yahweh, God of hosts says, "See, I am going to save my people, |
| 8我要本着忠實和正義，領他們回來，住在耶路撒冷；他們要作我的百姓，我要作他們的天主」。 | 8bringing them from the east and from the west and they will live in Jerusalem. They will be my people and I shall be their God in truth and in justice." |
| 9萬軍的上主這樣說：「當建築萬軍上主的殿，奠基的時日，你們由先知的口中聽見這些話的人，應加強你們的手臂。 | 9Yahweh, God of hosts declares, "In these days you have just heard the words of the prophets, because on this day the foundation stone is laid for the reconstruction of the Temple. Now do not be discouraged. |
| 10既使在這些日子以前，人得不到工資，牲畜也沒有報酬，出入的人因了仇敵都得不到平安，因為我曾使人互相攻擊； | 10Before these days there was no salary for anyone nor food for beasts, people could not travel because of the ambushes, and I myself let everyone quarrel with his neighbor. |
| 11但是現今我對待這百姓的遺民，決不像往日一樣──萬軍上主的斷語。 | 11But from now on I will deal differently with this people." |
| 12因為我要散播和平；葡萄樹必結果實，土地必有出產，蒼天必降甘露；我必要使這百姓的遺民獲得這一切。 | 12Yahweh says, "I am sowing peace. The vine will give its fruit, the earth its produce, the heavens its dew and to the remnant of this people I will give all these things. |
| 13猶大家和以色列家，昔日你們在異民中怎樣成為可詛咒的，將來我也要照樣拯救你們，使你們受人祝福；你們不要害怕，應加強你們的手臂！ | 13So it will happen that just as you were a curse among the nations, now I will save you, Judah and Israel, and make you a blessing. Have no fear and let your hands be strong!" |
| 14因為萬軍的上主這樣說：就如你們的祖先惹我發怒的時候，我曾決意降罰你們──萬軍的上主說──而毫不動情； | 14This is what Yahweh, God of hosts, says: "Just as I resolved to do you harm because your fathers angered me and I did not relent, |
| 15照樣，在這些日子裏，我也要決意善待耶路撒冷和猶大家；你們不要害怕！ | 15so now in these days am I determined to deal kindly with Jerusalem and Judah. Have no fear! |
| 16你們應該遵行的訓令是：彼此談話要誠實，在城門口應作公正與和平的裁判； | 16This is what you must do: Speak the truth to one another; let those who judge give peace through honest sentences |
| 17不可心中圖謀惡事，彼此相害，也不可喜歡發假誓，因為這一切都是我所憎惡的──上主的斷語。」 | 17and do not plot evil in your heart against one another. Refrain from false oaths for it is what I detest" - word of Yahweh. |
| 18萬軍上主的話傳給我說： | 18The word of Yahweh came to me, saying: |
| 19「萬軍的上主這樣說：四月的齋戒、五月的齋戒、七月的齋戒和十月的齋戒，為猶大家將變為愉快和喜樂以及歡躍的佳節；但你們應愛好忠實與和平」。 | 19"This is what you will say for my sake: From now on the fasts of the fourth, fifth, seventh and tenth months will be days of joy, happy feastdays. Only be peacemakers and sincere people." |
| 20萬軍的上主這樣說：「還有許多民族和各大城市的居民要前來； | 20Yahweh, the God of hosts speaks, "People will come from other nations, people from great cities. |
| 21一城的居民到另一城去，向該城的居民說：我們快去懇求上主開恩，去尋求萬軍的上主！──我也同去。」 | 21The inhabitants of one town will talk with those of another and say: 'Come, let us go and implore the favor of Yahweh, and I, too, will seek Yahweh.' |
| 22將有許多民族和強盛的國民，來到耶路撒冷尋求萬軍的上主，懇求上主開恩。 | 22Many great peoples and powerful nations will come seeking Yahweh, God of hosts, in Jerusalem and pray to him." |
| 23萬軍的上主這樣說：「在那些日子裏，十個說異國方言的人將抓住一個猶太人的衣邊說：我們要同你們一起去，因為我們聽說天主同你們在一起。」 | 23Yahweh, the God of hosts assures you, "In those days ten men of different languages spoken in various lands, will take hold of a Jew by the hem of his garment and say: We, too, want to go with you for we have heard that God is with you." |
