¹乃巴特的兒子雅洛貝罕王十八年，阿彼雅登極作猶大王，	¹In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, son of Nebat, Abijam became king of Judah;
²在耶路撒冷作王三年；他母親名叫瑪阿加，是阿貝沙隆的外孫女。	²he reigned three years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Maacah, daughter of Abishalom.
³阿彼雅行了他父親在他以前所行的一切邪惡；他的心對上主他的天主，不像他祖父達味的那樣誠實。	³He imitated all the sins his father had committed before him, and his heart was not entirely with the LORD, his God, like the heart of his grandfather David.
⁴但是，上主他的天主，為了達味的緣故，仍使他在耶路撒冷，有一盞燈，立他的兒子接他的位，並保全耶路撒冷，	⁴Yet for David's sake the LORD, his God, gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, raising up his son after him and permitting Jerusalem to endure;
⁵因為達味除了赫特人烏黎雅那件事以外，常行了上主視為正義的事，一生歲月從未違背上主所吩咐他的一切。	⁵because David had pleased the LORD and did not disobey any of his commands as long as he lived, except in the case of Uriah the Hittite.
⁶【勒哈貝罕與雅洛貝罕之間不斷發生戰事。】	⁶There was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
⁷阿彼雅其餘的事蹟，他的一切作為，都記載在《猶大列王實錄》上。阿彼雅與雅洛貝罕之間，常發生戰事。	⁷The rest of Abijam's acts, with all that he did, are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah.
⁸阿彼雅與列祖同眠，葬在達味城；他的兒子阿撒繼位為王。	⁸Abijam rested with his ancestors; he was buried in the City of David, and his son Asa succeeded him as king.
⁹以色列王雅洛貝罕二十年，阿撒登極作猶大王，	⁹In the twentieth year of Jeroboam, king of Israel, Asa, king of Judah, began to reign;
¹⁰在耶路撒冷作王四十一年；他的祖母名叫瑪阿加，是阿貝沙隆的外孫女。	¹⁰he reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem. His grandmother's name was Maacah, daughter of Abishalom.
¹¹阿撒行了上主視為正直的事，像他的祖父達味一樣。	¹¹Asa pleased the LORD like his forefather David,
¹²他將為神賣淫的男女由國內除掉，撤去了他祖先所立的一切偶像，	¹²banishing the temple prostitutes from the land and removing all the idols his father had made.
¹³並廢除了他祖母瑪阿加作太后的權位，因為她給阿舍辣立了可憎惡的柱像；阿撒把她所立的像砍倒，在克德龍谷焚毀。	¹³He also deposed his grandmother Maacah from her position as queen mother, because she had made an outrageous object for Asherah. Asa cut down this object and burned it in the Kidron Valley.
¹⁴只有丘壇沒有廢除；不過阿撒的心一生全屬上主。	¹⁴The high places did not disappear; yet Asa's heart was entirely with the LORD as long as he lived.
¹⁵阿撒將他父親所獻的，和他自己所獻的金銀和器皿，都送入上主的殿內。	¹⁵He brought into the temple of the LORD his father's and his own votive offerings of silver, gold, and various utensils.
¹⁶阿撒與以色列王巴厄沙之間不斷發生戰爭。	¹⁶There was war between Asa and Baasha, king of Israel, as long as they both reigned.
¹⁷以色列王巴厄沙上來進攻猶大，並在辣瑪修築工事，防止人民同猶大王阿撒來往。	¹⁷Baasha, king of Israel, attacked Judah and fortified Ramah to prevent communication with Asa, king of Judah.
¹⁸那時，阿撒將上主殿內和王宮內寶庫中所剩餘的金銀取出，交給他的臣僕，打發他們去見住在大馬士革的阿蘭王，赫則雍的孫子，塔貝黎孟的兒子本哈達得說：	¹⁸ Asa then took all the silver and gold remaining in the treasuries of the temple of the LORD and of the royal palace. Entrusting them to his ministers, King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion, king of Aram, resident in Damascus. He said:
¹⁹「我與你之間，我父親與你父親之間都立過約；現在我給你送來金銀作為禮品，請你廢除你與以色列王巴厄沙所立的約，使他遠離我！」	¹⁹"There is a treaty between you and me, as there was between your father and my father. I am sending you a present of silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha, king of Israel, that he may withdraw from me."
²⁰本哈達得聽了阿撒王的話，即刻派自己的軍長去攻打以色列的城市，攻下了依雍、丹、阿貝耳貝特瑪阿加、基乃勒特全境和納斐塔里全境。	²⁰Ben-hadad agreed with King Asa and sent the leaders of his troops against the cities of Israel. They attacked Ijon, Dan, Abel-beth-maacah, and all Chinnereth, besides all the land of Naphtali.
²¹巴厄沙一聽說這事，就停止在辣瑪的工事，回到了提爾匝。	²¹When Baasha heard of it, he left off fortifying Ramah, and stayed in Tirzah.
²²於是阿撒王召集全猶大人民，一個也不例外，吩咐他們將巴厄沙修築辣瑪所用的石頭和木料運走；阿撒王用來修建本雅明的革巴和米茲帕。	²²Then King Asa summoned all Judah without exception, and they carried away the stones and beams with which Baasha was fortifying Ramah. With them King Asa built Geba of Benjamin and Mizpeh.
²³阿撒其餘的事蹟，關於他的一切偉業和作為，並建造的城防，都記載在《猶大列王實錄》上。他年老時，患了足疾。	²³The rest of the acts of Asa, with all his valor and accomplishments, and the cities he built, are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah. In his old age, Asa had an infirmity in his feet.
²⁴阿撒與列祖同眠，與列祖同葬在他祖父達味城內；他的兒子約沙法特繼位為王。	²⁴He rested with his ancestors; he was buried in his forefather's City of David, and his son Jehoshaphat succeeded him as king.
²⁵猶大王阿撒二年，雅洛貝罕的兒子納達布登極作以色列王。他二年作以色列王，	²⁵In the second year of Asa, king of Judah, Nadab, son of Jeroboam, became king of Israel; he reigned over Israel two years.
²⁶行了上主視為惡的事，走了他父親的路，犯了他父親使以色列陷於罪惡的罪。	²⁶He did evil in the LORD'S sight, imitating his father's conduct and the sin which he had caused Israel to commit.
²⁷依撒加爾家族，阿希雅的兒子巴厄沙結黨背叛了他，在屬於培肋舍特人的基貝通將他殺死，那時納達布和全以色列人正在圍攻基貝通。	²⁷Baasha, son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, plotted against him and struck him down at Gibbethon of the Philistines, which Nadab and all Israel were besieging.
²⁸猶大王阿撒三年，巴厄沙殺了納達布，篡了他的王位。	²⁸Baasha killed him in the third year of Asa, king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.
²⁹他登極後，立即殺了雅洛貝罕全家；凡屬雅洛貝罕家中的人，沒有留下一個，都殺絕了：這正應驗了上主藉他僕人史羅人阿希雅所說的話。	²⁹Once he was king, he killed off the entire house of Jeroboam, not leaving a single soul to Jeroboam but destroying him utterly, according to the warning which the LORD had pronounced through his servant, Ahijah the Shilonite,
³⁰這是因為雅洛貝罕自己犯的罪和他使以色列犯的罪，激怒了上主，以色列的天主。	³⁰because of the sins Jeroboam committed and caused Israel to commit, by which he provoked the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger.
³¹納達布其餘的事蹟，他的一切作為，都記載在《以色列列王實錄》上。	³¹The rest of the acts of Nadab, with all that he did, are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
³²【阿撒與以色列王巴厄沙之間常發生戰事。】	³²(There was war between Asa and Baasha, king of Israel, as long as they lived.)
³³猶大王阿撒三年，阿希雅的兒子巴厄沙在提爾匝登極，作全以色列王，在位凡二十四年。	³³In the third year of Asa, king of Judah, Baasha, son of Ahijah, began his twenty-four-year reign over Israel in Tirzah.
³⁴他行了上主視為惡的事，走了雅洛貝罕所走的路，犯了使以色列陷於罪惡的罪。	³⁴He did evil in the LORD'S sight, imitating the conduct of Jeroboam and the sin he had caused Israel to commit.
