| 1達味在達味城為自己建造了宮室，也為天主的約櫃預備了一塊地方，支搭了一座帳幕。 |
1David built houses for himself in the City of David and prepared a place for the ark of God, pitching a tent for it there. |
| 2那時，達味心裏想：天主的約櫃，除肋未人外，誰也不能抬，因為上主只簡選了他們抬上主的約櫃，永遠奉事他。 |
2At that time he said, "No one may carry the ark of God except the Levites, for the LORD chose them to carry the ark of the LORD and to minister to him forever." |
| 3達味遂召集了全以色列到耶路撒冷來，為將上主的約櫃迎運到他所預備的地方。 |
3Then David assembled all Israel in Jerusalem to bring the ark of the LORD to the place which he had prepared for it. |
| 4他又召集了亞郎的子孫和肋未人： |
4David also called together the sons of Aaron and the Levites: |
| 5刻哈特子孫的族長烏黎耳，和他的同族一百二十人； |
5of the sons of Kohath, Uriel, their chief, and one hundred and twenty of his brethren; |
| 6默辣黎子孫的族長阿撒雅，和他的同族二百二十人， |
6of the sons of Merari, Asaiah, their chief, and two hundred and twenty of his brethren; |
| 7革爾雄子孫的族長約厄耳，和他的同族一百三十人； |
7of the sons of Gershon, Joel, their chief, and one hundred and thirty of his brethren; |
| 8厄里匝番子孫的族長舍瑪雅和他的同族二百人； |
8of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah, their chief, and two hundred of his brethren; |
| 9赫貝龍子孫的族長厄里耳，和他的同族八十人； |
9of the sons of Hebron, Eliel, their chief, and eighty of his brethren; |
| 10烏齊耳子孫的族長阿米納達布和他的同族一百一十二人。 |
10of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab, their chief, and one hundred and twelve of his brethren. |
| 11達味將司祭匝多克、厄貝雅塔爾，及肋未人烏黎耳、阿撒雅、約厄耳，舍瑪雅、厄里耳和阿米納達布召來， |
11David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar, and the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab, |
| 12對他們說：「你們既為肋未人的族長，你們與你們的同族兄弟就當聖潔自己，將上主以色列天主的約櫃，抬到我所準備的地方。 |
12and said to them: "You, the heads of the levitical families, must sanctify yourselves along with your brethren and bring the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, to the place which I have prepared for it. |
| 13因為你們初次不在場，我們沒有按照規則迎接，所以上主我們的天主打擊了我們。」 |
13Because you were not with us the first time, the wrath of the LORD our God burst upon us, for we did not seek him aright." |
| 14司祭和肋未人便聖潔自己，好將上主以色列天主的約櫃抬上來。 |
14Accordingly, the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel. |
| 15肋未子孫按照梅瑟奉天主的命所吩咐的，用杠杆在肩上抬着上主的約櫃。 |
15The Levites bore the ark of God on their shoulders with poles, as Moses had ordained according to the word of the LORD. |
| 16達味又吩咐肋未人的族長，由他們的同族兄弟中指派一些歌詠者，叫他們用各種樂器、琴瑟和鐃鈸，奏出嘹喨歡樂的聲音。 |
16David commanded the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brethren as chanters, to play on musical instruments, harps, lyres, and cymbals, to make a loud sound of rejoicing. |
| 17肋未人遂指派了約厄耳的兒子赫曼和他的一個同族貝勒克雅的兒子阿撒夫，並他們同族兄弟默辣黎的子孫中，谷沙雅的兒子厄堂。 |
17Therefore the Levites appointed Heman, son of Joel, and, among his brethren, Asaph, son of Berechiah; and among the sons of Merari, their brethren, Ethan, son of Kushaiah; |
| 18與他們一起的，尚有他們的同族兄弟，組成第二班：則加黎雅、雅阿齊耳、舍米辣摩特、耶希耳、翁尼、厄里阿布、貝納雅、瑪阿色雅、瑪提提雅、厄里斐路和米刻乃雅，以及守衛敖貝得厄東和耶希耳。 |
18and, together with these, their brethren of the second rank: the gatekeepers Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel. |
| 19至於歌詠者，赫曼、阿撒夫和厄堂打銅鈸； |
19The chanters, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, sounded brass cymbals. |
| 20則加黎雅、雅阿齊耳、舍米辣摩特、耶希耳、翁尼、厄里阿布、瑪阿色雅、貝納雅彈瑟，調用高音。 |
20 Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah played on harps set to "Alamoth." |
| 21瑪提提雅、厄里斐路、米刻乃雅、敖貝得厄東、耶依耳、阿匝齊雅領先彈琴，調用低音。 |
21But Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel led the chant on lyres set to "the eighth." |
| 22肋未人的族長革納尼雅管理歌詠，因他善於歌詠之事。 |
22Chenaniah was the chief of the Levites in the chanting; he directed the chanting, for he was skillful. |
| 23貝勒基雅和厄耳卡納為守衛，看守約櫃。 |
23Berechiah and Elkanah were gatekeepers before the ark. |
| 24司祭舍巴尼雅、約沙法特、乃塔乃耳、阿瑪賽、則加黎雅、貝納雅和厄里厄則爾，在天主的約櫃前吹號筒；敖貝得厄東和耶希雅為守衛，看守約櫃。 |
24The priests, Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, sounded the trumpets before the ark of God. Obed-edom and Jeiel were also gatekeepers before the ark. |
| 25於是達味和以色列的長老並千夫長前去，由敖貝得厄東家中，興高采烈地將上主的約櫃接上來。 |
25Thus David, the elders of Israel, and the commanders of thousands went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with joy from the house of Obed-edom. |
| 26由於天主扶助了抬上主約櫃的肋未人，他們遂祭獻了七頭公牛和七隻公山羊。 |
26While the Levites, with God's help, were bearing the ark of the covenant of the LORD, seven bulls and seven rams were sacrificed. |
| 27達味、抬約櫃的肋未人、歌詠之長革納黎雅以及歌詠者，都穿着細麻長衣，達味另外又佩帶着細麻的「厄弗得」。 |
27David was clothed in a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who carried the ark, the singers, and Chenaniah, the leader of the chant; David was also wearing a linen ephod. |
| 28全以色列在歡呼、吹角、吹號、擊鈸、鼓瑟、彈琴、奏樂之中，將上主的約櫃接了上來。 |
28Thus all Israel brought back the ark of the covenant of the LORD with joyful shouting, to the sound of horns, trumpets, and cymbals, and the music of harps and lyres. |
| 29上主的約櫃進入達味城時，撒烏耳的女兒米加耳由窗內窺看，見達味跳躍舞蹈，心中就輕視他。 |
29But as the ark of the covenant of the LORD was entering the City of David, Michal, daughter of Saul, looked down from her window, and when she saw King David leaping and dancing, she despised him in her heart. |
