1The people of the land took Jehoahaz, son of Josiah, and made him king in Jerusalem in his father's stead. |

2Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he became king, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. |
| 3因為埃及王在耶路撒冷廢了他，且要那地方納一百「塔冷通」銀子，一「塔冷通」金子的罰款。 |
3The king of Egypt deposed him in Jerusalem and fined the land one hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold. |
| 4以後，埃及王立了他的兄弟厄里雅金為猶大和耶路撒冷王，給他改名叫約雅金；乃苛將他的兄弟約阿哈次帶到埃及去了。 |
4Then the king of Egypt made his brother Eliakim king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. Neco took his brother Jehoahaz away and brought him to Egypt. |
| 5約雅金登極時年二十五歲，在耶路撒冷為王凡十一年。他行了上主，他的天主視為惡的事。 |
5Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. He did evil in the sight of the LORD, his God. |
| 6巴比倫王拿步高前來攻擊他，用銅鏈將他綑住，帶往巴比倫。 |
6 Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came up against him and bound him with chains to take him to Babylon. |
| 7拿步高也將上主殿內一部份器皿帶到巴比倫，安置在巴比倫他的神廟裏。 |
7Nebuchadnezzar also carried away to Babylon some of the vessels of the house of the LORD and put them in his palace in Babylon. |
| 8約雅金其餘的事蹟，以及他所行的醜惡，和他遭遇的一切，都記載在《以色列和猶大列王實錄》上。他的兒子耶苛尼雅繼位為王。 |
8The rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, the abominable things that he did, and what therefore happened to him, can be found written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. His son Jehoiachin succeeded him as king. |
| 9耶苛尼雅即位時年十八歲，在耶路撒冷作王三個月又十天。他行了上主視為惡的事。 |
9Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned three months (and ten days) in Jerusalem. He did evil in the sight of the LORD. |
| 10次年歲首，拿步高派人來，將耶苛尼雅和上主殿內的珍器，帶往巴比倫，立了他的叔父漆德克雅為王，管理猶大和耶路撒冷。 |
10 At the turn of the year, King Nebuchadnezzar sent for him and had him brought to Babylon, along with precious vessels from the temple of the LORD. He made his brother Zedekiah king over Judah and Jerusalem. |
| 11漆德克雅登極時年二十一歲，在耶路撒冷為王凡十一年。 |
11Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. |
| 12他行了上主視為惡的事，雖然先知耶肋米亞奉上主的命來勸勉他，他仍不在耶肋米亞面前自謙自卑。 |
12He did evil in the sight of the LORD, his God, and he did not humble himself before the prophet Jeremiah, who spoke the word of the LORD. |
| 13拿步高王雖曾叫他指着天主起誓，他仍背叛了拿步高；更加執拗頑固，總不肯歸依上主，以色列的天主。 |
13He also rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God. He became stiff-necked and hardened his heart rather than return to the LORD, the God of Israel. |
| 14此外，所有的司祭首長和百姓罪上加罪，仿效了異族所行的一切醜惡之事，污辱了上主在耶路撒冷祝聖的殿宇。 |
14Likewise all the princes of Judah, the priests and the people added infidelity to infidelity, practicing all the abominations of the nations and polluting the LORD'S temple which he had consecrated in Jerusalem. |

15Early and often did the LORD, the God of their fathers, send his messengers to them, for he had compassion on his people and his dwelling place. |

16But they mocked the messengers of God, despised his warnings, and scoffed at his prophets, until the anger of the LORD against his people was so inflamed that there was no remedy. |

17Then he brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans, who slew their young men in their own sanctuary building, sparing neither young man nor maiden, neither the aged nor the decrepit; he delivered all of them over into his grip. |
| 18加色丁人王又將天主殿內所有的大小器皿，上主殿內的寶物，君王和朝臣的寶物，都帶往巴比倫， |
18All the utensils of the house of God, the large and the small, and the treasures of the LORD'S house and of the king and his princes, all these he brought to Babylon. |
| 19焚毀了上主的殿宇，拆壞了耶路撒冷的城墻，燒了城中所有的宮殿，毀壞了城內一切珍貴的器皿； |
19They burnt the house of God, tore down the walls of Jerusalem, set all its palaces afire, and destroyed all its precious objects. |
| 20凡免於刀下的人，都被擄到巴比倫去，作他及他子孫的奴僕，直到波斯帝國興起。 |
20Those who escaped the sword he carried captive to Babylon, where they became his and his sons' servants until the kingdom of the Persians came to power. |
| 21這樣，就應驗了上主藉耶肋米亞的口所說的話：「直到這地域補享了它的安息年，應該在荒蕪期中獲享安息，直到七十年。」 |
21All this was to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah: "Until the land has retrieved its lost sabbaths, during all the time it lies waste it shall have rest while seventy years are fulfilled." |
| 22波斯王居魯士元年，為應驗上主藉耶肋米亞的口所說的話，上主感動了波斯王居魯士的心，叫他出一道號令，向全國頒發上諭說： |
22 In the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD inspired King Cyrus of Persia to issue this proclamation throughout his kingdom, both by word of mouth and in writing: |
| 23「波斯王居魯士這樣說：上天的神「雅威」，將地上萬國交給了我，囑咐我在猶大的耶路撒冷為他建築一座殿宇，你們中間凡作他子民的，可以上去；願他的神與他同在！」 |
23"Thus says Cyrus, king of Persia: 'All the kingdoms of the earth the LORD, the God of heaven, has given to me, and he has also charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever, therefore, among you belongs to any part of his people, let him go up, and may his God be with him!'" |
