| 1登聖殿歌，撒羅滿作。若不是上主興工建屋，建築的人是徒然勞苦；若不是上主在護守城堡，守城的人白白儆醒護守。 |
1 A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD build the house, they labor in vain who build. Unless the LORD guard the city, in vain does the guard keep watch. |
| 2你們極早起床盡屬徒然，每夜坐至深更圖謀打算，為了求食經過多少辛酸；惟獨天主賜所愛者安眠。 |
2It is vain for you to rise early and put off your rest at night, To eat bread earned by hard toil-- all this God gives to his beloved in sleep. |
| 3的確子女全是上主的賜予，胎兒也全是他的報酬。 |
3Children too are a gift from the LORD, the fruit of the womb, a reward. |
| 4年輕少壯所生的子嗣，有如勇士手中的箭矢。 |
4Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children born in one's youth. |
| 5裝滿自己箭囊的人，真有福祺，城門前與敵人爭辯，不受羞恥。 |
5 Blessed are they whose quivers are full. They will never be shamed contending with foes at the gate. |
