箴言	Proverbs
¹信譽比多財可取，敬仰比金銀可貴。	¹A good name is more desirable than great riches, and high esteem, than gold and silver.
²富人與窮人彼此相遇，二者皆為上主所造。	²Rich and poor have a common bond: the LORD is the maker of them all.
³精明人遇見災禍，即行隱避；無知者反向前走，自招損害。	³The shrewd man perceives evil and hides, while simpletons continue on and suffer the penalty.
⁴謙卑的賞報，是敬畏上主，是享有財富、尊榮和生命。	⁴The reward of humility and fear of the LORD is riches, honor and life.
⁵邪惡者的路上，滿佈荊棘羅網；潔身自愛的人，必能遠而避之。	⁵Thorns and snares are on the path of the crooked; he who would safeguard his life will shun them.
⁶你教導孩童應行的道路，待他老年時也不會離棄。	⁶Train a boy in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not swerve from it.
⁷富人宰割窮人，債主奴役債戶。	⁷The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.
⁸播種邪惡的，必收穫災禍；他辛苦工作，必全屬徒勞。	⁸He who sows iniquity reaps calamity, and the rod destroys his labors.
⁹目光慈祥的，必蒙受祝福，因他將食糧，施捨給窮人。	⁹The kindly man will be blessed, for he gives of his sustenance to the poor.
¹⁰趕走了狂人，就除了爭執；爭訟與侮辱，亦相繼止息。	¹⁰Expel the arrogant man and discord goes out; strife and insult cease.
¹¹純潔的心靈，是上主所愛；優雅的唇舌，是君王所悅。	¹¹The LORD loves the pure of heart; the man of winning speech has the king for his friend.
¹²上主的眼目，常衛護知識；敗類的言論，必加以毀滅。	¹²The eyes of the LORD safeguard knowledge, but he defeats the projects of the faithless.
¹³只有懶人說：「外面有獅子，在街市之中，我會被吞噬」。	¹³The sluggard says, "A lion is outside; in the streets I might be slain."
¹⁴淫婦們的口，實是個深坑；上主惱怒的，必墜入其中。	¹⁴The mouth of the adulteress is a deep pit; he with whom the LORD is angry will fall into it.
¹⁵孩童心中藏愚昧，只有戒尺能驅逐。	¹⁵Folly is close to the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him.
¹⁶欺壓窮人，是使他致富；餽贈富者，是使他貧窮。	¹⁶He who oppresses the poor to enrich himself will yield up his gains to the rich as sheer loss.
¹⁷你應當傾聽智者的訓言，應專心致意領會我的知識。	¹⁷The sayings of the wise: Incline your ear, and hear my words, and apply your heart to my doctrine;
¹⁸你若細心存想，常在口中誦念，必會令你喜悅。	¹⁸For it will be well if you keep them in your bosom, if they all are ready on your lips.
¹⁹為使你的信賴全托於上主，我今日特將道路指示給你。	¹⁹That your trust may be in the LORD, I make known to you the words of Amen-em-Ope.
²⁰關於教誨和知識，我豈未多次寫過，	²⁰Have I not written for you the "Thirty," with counsels and knowledge,
²¹使你認識真言實理，答覆前來問你的人？	²¹To teach you truly how to give a dependable report to one who sends you?
²²你不可因為人窮而剝削窮人，亦不可在城門口欺壓弱小者；	²²Injure not the poor because they are poor, nor crush the needy at the gate
²³因為他們的案件，上主必予以辯護；凡剝奪他們的人，上主必討其生命。	²³For the LORD will defend their cause, and will plunder the lives of those who plunder them.
²⁴易怒的人，不可與他交結，暴躁的人，不要與他往來，	²⁴Be not friendly with a hotheaded man, nor the companion of a wrathful man,
²⁵免得你沾染他的惡習，甘冒喪失性命的危險。	²⁵Lest you learn his ways, and get yourself into a snare.
²⁶不要為別人擊掌，不要為債務作保；	²⁶Be not one of those who give their hand in pledge, of those who become surety for debts;
²⁷免得你沒有什麼償還時，連你的床榻也被人奪走。	²⁷For if you have not the means to pay, your bed will be taken from under you.
²⁸祖先立定的舊界，你不要加以移動。	²⁸Remove not the ancient landmark which your fathers set up.
²⁹你曾見過辦事能幹的人嗎？他必侍立在君王面前，決不侍立在傭人面前。	²⁹You see a man skilled at his work? He will stand in the presence of kings; he will not stand in the presence of obscure men.
