箴言	Proverbs
¹智慧不是在呼喚，明智不是在發出她的呼聲嗎？	¹Does not Wisdom call, and Understanding raise her voice?
²她站在高崗上，站在通衢大道上，	²On the top of the heights along the road, at the crossroads she takes her stand;
³她在城門口，在城入口處大聲喊說：	³By the gates at the approaches of the city, in the entryways she cries aloud:
⁴人呀！我在向你們呼喚，我在對人子發出呼聲：	⁴"To you, O men, I call; my appeal is to the children of men.
⁵幼稚的人，你們應學習機智；愚昧的人，你們應學習聰明。	⁵You simple ones, gain resource, you fools, gain sense.
⁶你們且聽，因為我要講論卓絕的事，開口述說正直的事。	⁶Give heed! for noble things I speak; honesty opens my lips.
⁷的確，我的口只暢談真理，我厭惡虛詐的唇舌。	⁷Yes, the truth my mouth recounts, but the wickedness my lips abhor.
⁸凡我口述的，無不正直，毫無歪曲或乖僻。	⁸Sincere are all the words of my mouth, no one of them is wily or crooked;
⁹我的話為明白的人是誠實的，為有智識的人是正確的。	⁹All of them are plain to the man of intelligence, and right to those who attain knowledge.
¹⁰你們應聽取我的教訓，而不要銀子；應汲取智識，而不取純金；	¹⁰Receive my instruction in preference to silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold.
¹¹因為智慧勝過任何珍珠，任何可貪戀的事都不能與她倫比。	¹¹(For Wisdom is better than corals, and no choice possessions can compare with her.)
¹²我─智慧─與機智同居，擁有知識和見識。	¹²I, Wisdom, dwell with experience, and judicious knowledge I attain.
¹³敬畏上主，就是憎恨邪惡傲慢驕橫，邪惡的行徑和欺詐的口舌，我都憎惡。	¹³(The fear of the LORD is to hate evil;) Pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth I hate.
¹⁴機謀才智，屬我所有；聰明勇敢，亦屬於我。	¹⁴Mine are counsel and advice; Mine is strength; I am understanding.
¹⁵藉着我，君王執政，元首秉公行義；	¹⁵By me kings reign, and lawgivers establish justice;
¹⁶藉着我，統治者統治，王侯治理邦土。	¹⁶By me princes govern, and nobles; all the rulers of earth.
¹⁷我愛那愛我的人；凡尋求我的，必找着我。	¹⁷Those who love me I also love, and those who seek me find me.
¹⁸富貴榮譽，恒產正義，都屬我有。	¹⁸With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity.
¹⁹我的果實，勝過黃金純金；我的出產，比淨銀還要寶貴。	¹⁹My fruit is better than gold, yes, than pure gold, and my revenue than choice silver.
²⁰我走在正義的路上，走在公平的路上，	²⁰On the way of duty I walk, along the paths of justice,
²¹使愛我者獲得產業，充滿他們的寶庫。	²¹Granting wealth to those who love me, and filling their treasuries.
²²上主自始即拿我作他行動的起始，作他作為的開端：	²²The LORD begot me, the first-born of his ways, the forerunner of his prodigies of long ago;
²³大地還沒有形成以前，遠自太古，從無始我已被立；	²³From of old I was poured forth, at the first, before the earth.
²⁴深淵還沒有存在，水泉還沒有湧出以前，我已受生；	²⁴When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no fountains or springs of water;
²⁵山嶽還沒有奠定，丘陵還沒有存在以前，我已受生。	²⁵Before the mountains were settled into place, before the hills, I was brought forth;
²⁶那時，上主還沒有創造大地、原野、和世上土壤的原質；	²⁶While as yet the earth and the fields were not made, nor the first clods of the world.
²⁷當他建立高天時，我已在場；當他在深淵之上劃出穹蒼時，	²⁷When he established the heavens I was there, when he marked out the vault over the face of the deep
²⁸當他上使穹蒼穩立，下使淵源固定時，	²⁸When he made firm the skies above, when he fixed fast the foundations of the earth;
²⁹當他為滄海劃定界限，令水不要越境，給大地奠定基礎時，	²⁹When he set for the sea its limit, so that the waters should not transgress his command;
³⁰我已在他身旁，充作技師。那時，我天天是他的喜悅，不斷在他前歡躍，	³⁰Then was I beside him as his craftsman, and I was his delight day by day, Playing before him all the while,
³¹歡躍於塵寰之間，樂與世人共處。	³¹playing on the surface of his earth; and I found delight in the sons of men.
³²那麼，我兒，你們且聽我：遵循我道路的人是有福的。	³²So now, O children, listen to me;
³³你們該聽從教訓，做一智慧人，不要把她拋棄。	³³instruction and wisdom do not reject! Happy the man who obeys me, and happy those who keep my ways,
³⁴凡聽從我言，天天在我門前守候，在我門框旁侍立的人，是有福的。	³⁴Happy the man watching daily at my gates, waiting at my doorposts;
³⁵因為誰找到我，便是找到生命，他必由上主獲得恩寵。	³⁵For he who finds me finds life, and wins favor from the LORD;
³⁶但是那得罪我的，等於傷害自己；凡憎恨我的，是自找死亡。	³⁶But he who misses me harms himself; all who hate me love death."
