| 1禍哉，那些制定不義的法例，記錄不義的斷案， |
1Woe to those who enact unjust statutes and who write oppressive decrees, |
| 2為屈枉小民的案件，剝削我窮民的權利，攘奪寡婦和劫掠孤兒的人！ |
2Depriving the needy of judgment and robbing my people's poor of their rights, Making widows their plunder, and orphans their prey! |
| 3當懲罰之日，風暴由遠而近的時候，你們將怎樣應付？你們將向誰求助？你們的財寶將棄於何地？ |
3What will you do on the day of punishment, when ruin comes from afar? To whom will you flee for help? Where will you leave your wealth, |
| 4惟有屈伏在被俘者中，倒斃在被殺者下；然而他的震怒並未因此而熄滅，他的手仍然伸着。 |
4Lest it sink beneath the captive or fall beneath the slain? For all this, his wrath is not turned back, his hand is still outstretched! |
| 5禍哉，亞述！我義怒的木棒，我震怒的棍杖！ |
5Woe to Assyria! My rod in anger, my staff in wrath. |
| 6我派遣她是為攻擊一個邪惡的百姓，我委任他是為攻擊我所憤恨的民族，為擄掠劫奪，並為蹂躪他們，有如街上的糞土。 |
6 Against an impious nation I send him, and against a people under my wrath I order him To seize plunder, carry off loot, and tread them down like the mud of the streets. |
| 7但她並沒有這樣想，心裏也沒有這樣推測，只圖肆意破壞，剿滅不少的民族。 |
7But this is not what he intends, nor does he have this in mind; Rather, it is in his heart to destroy, to make an end of nations not a few. |
| 8因為她說：「我的首領不都是君王嗎？ |
8"Are not my commanders all kings?" he says, |
| 9加耳諾不是與加革米士一樣嗎？哈瑪特不是與阿爾帕得一樣嗎？撒瑪黎雅不是與大馬士革一樣嗎？ |
9 "Is not Calno like Carchemish, Or Hamath like Arpad, or Samaria like Damascus? |
| 10我的手既然征服了這些偶像的王國──況且他們的偶像還多過耶路撒冷和撒瑪黎雅── |
10Just as my hand reached out to idolatrous kingdoms that had more images than Jerusalem and Samaria, |
| 11難道我不能對待耶路撒冷和她的神像，有如對待了撒瑪黎雅和她的偶像嗎？」 |
11Just as I treated Samaria and her idols, shall I not do to Jerusalem and her graven images?" |
| 12當吾主對熙雍山和耶路撒冷完成了他的一切工作時，必要懲罰亞述王心高氣傲的功績，和他目空一切的驕傲。 |
12(But when the LORD has brought to an end all his work on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, I will punish the utterance of the king of Assyria's proud heart, |
| 13因為他曾說過：「我完成了這一切，全憑我的手和我的智慧，因為我是聰明的；我撤除了各族的界限，擄掠了他們的財寶，有如強者打倒了居於高位的人。 |
13and the boastfulness of his haughty eyes. For he says:) "By my own power I have done it, and by my wisdom, for I am shrewd. I have moved the boundaries of peoples, their treasures I have pillaged, and, like a giant, I have put down the enthroned. |
| 14我的手奪取了列國的財富，有如取諸窩巢；我兼併了大地，有如拾取遺卵，沒有誰敢鼓翼或張口鼓噪。」 |
14My hand has seized like a nest the riches of nations; As one takes eggs left alone, so I took in all the earth; No one fluttered a wing, or opened a mouth, or chirped!" |
| 15斧頭豈能對用斧頭砍伐的人自豪？鋸豈能向拉鋸的人自誇？難道棍杖能揮動那舉它的人？木棒能舉起那不是木頭的人？ |
15Will the axe boast against him who hews with it? Will the saw exalt itself above him who wields it? As if a rod could sway him who lifts it, or a staff him who is not wood! |
| 16因此吾主，萬軍的天主，將瘦弱放在她的肥碩之中，在她的光輝之下燃起火燄，有如烈火焚燒。 |
16 Therefore the Lord, the LORD of hosts, will send among his fat ones leanness, And instead of his glory there will be kindling like the kindling of fire. |
| 17以色列的光將變為火，他的聖者將變為烈燄，一日間即將她的荊棘蒺藜焚燬。 |
17The Light of Israel will become a fire, Israel's Holy One a flame, That burns and consumes his briers and his thorns in a single day. |
| 18她的叢林和她田園的華麗，必將由內到外毀滅，有如為蟲蝕盡一樣。 |
18His splendid forests and orchards will be consumed, soul and body; |
| 19她的叢林所剩餘的樹木不多，一個兒童就能計算。 |
19And the remnant of the trees in his forest will be so few, Like poles set up for signals, that any boy can record them. |
| 20到那一日，以色列的遺民和雅各伯家的逃亡者，不再依恃打擊他們的人，卻誠心依賴上主，以色列的聖者。 |
20On that day The remnant of Israel, the survivors of the house of Jacob, will no more lean upon him who struck them; But they lean upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. |
| 21遺民必將歸回，雅各伯的遺民必將歸依強有力的天主！ |
21 A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. |
| 22以色列啊！你的百姓雖然多如海沙，其中惟有殘存者得以歸回：毀滅已經決定，但是充溢着公義， |
22For though your people, O Israel, were like the sand of the sea, Only a remnant of them will return; their destruction is decreed as overwhelming justice demands. |
| 23因為吾主，萬軍的上主必在大地上執行所決定的毀滅。 |
23Yes, the destruction he has decreed, the Lord, the GOD of hosts, will carry out within the whole land. |
| 24因此吾主，萬軍的上主這樣說：我的百姓，熙雍的居民！亞述雖然用木棒痛擊你，像埃及一樣，舉起棍杖敲打你，但你不必害怕， |
24Therefore thus says the Lord, the GOD of hosts: O my people, who dwell in Zion, do not fear the Assyrian, though he strikes you with a rod, and raises his staff against you. |
| 25因為瞬息間我的怒氣即將終止，我的憤怒將轉為他們的毀滅。 |
25For only a brief moment more, and my anger shall be over; but them I will destroy in wrath. |
| 26萬軍的上主將揮動刑鞭鞭打他們，有如昔日在曷勒布磐石處打擊米德楊一樣；高舉向海上伸出的棍杖，有如在埃及一樣。 |
26Then the LORD of hosts will raise against them a scourge such as struck Midian at the rock of Oreb; and he will raise his staff over the sea as he did against Egypt. |
| 27到那日，她的重負將由你肩上卸下，她的重軛將由你頸上解除。 |
27 On that day, His burden shall be taken from your shoulder, and his yoke shattered from your neck. He has come up from the direction of Rimmon, |
| 28破壞者由黎孟而來，來到阿雅特，經過米革龍，將輜重貯在米革瑪斯； |
28he has reached Aiath, passed through Migron, at Michmash his supplies are stored. |
| 29又穿過要隘，夜宿革巴。辣瑪驚慌了，撒烏耳的基貝亞逃走了。 |
29They cross the ravine: "We will spend the night at Geba." Ramah is in terror, Gibeah of Saul has fled. |
| 30巴特加林！你們應大聲疾呼；拉依士！你們應該傾聽；阿納托特！你們應該回答。 |
30Cry and shriek, O daughter of Gallim! Hearken, Laishah! Answer her, Anathoth! |
| 31瑪德默納走散了，革平的居民逃避了。 |
31Madmenah is in flight, the inhabitants of Gebim seek refuge. |
| 32在諾布暫停一天，遂即揮手指向熙雍女兒山，耶路撒冷的山崗。 |
32 Even today he will halt at Nob, he will shake his fist at the mount of daughter Zion, the hill of Jerusalem! |
| 33看啊！吾主，萬軍的上主將用斧鉞砍伐枝幹：高出的要削去，聳出的要砍低。 |
33Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, lops off the boughs with terrible violence; The tall of stature are felled, and the lofty ones brought low; |
| 34他將用鐵斧砍伐叢林，黎巴嫩和她的壯麗必被伐倒。 |
34The forest thickets are felled with the axe, and Lebanon in its splendor falls. |
