| 1阿摩茲的兒子依撒意亞所見有關巴比倫的神諭： |
1An oracle concerning Babylon; a vision of Isaiah, son of Amoz. |
| 2你們在禿山上豎起旗幟，向他們高呼揮手，叫他們走進王侯的御門！ |
2 Upon the bare mountains set up a signal; cry out to them, Wave for them to enter the gates of the volunteers. |
| 3我已向我聖潔的人下令，並為了我的憤怒，召集了我的戰士，我那驕矜自喜的常勝軍。 |
3 I have commanded my dedicated soldiers, I have summoned my warriors, eager and bold to carry out my anger. |
| 4聽！山上有喧囂聲，好像有無數的人群。聽！列國的嘈雜聲，萬民正在聚集；萬軍的上主正在檢閱赴敵的部隊： |
4Listen! the rumble on the mountains: that of an immense throng! Listen! the noise of kingdoms, nations assembled! The LORD of hosts is mustering an army for battle. |
| 5他們都來自遠方，來自天邊。上主和他盛怒的工具，要來毀滅整個大地。 |
5They come from a far-off country, and from the end of the heavens, The LORD and the instruments of his wrath, to destroy all the land. |
| 6號啕罷！因為上主的日子近了，它來有如全能者實行毀滅； |
6 Howl, for the day of the LORD is near; as destruction from the Almighty it comes. |
| 7為此，人手將要鬆懈，人心將要消融， |
7Therefore all hands fall helpless, the bows of the young men fall from their hands. Every man's heart melts |
| 8人人都驚慌失措，劇疼和痛苦侵襲他們，痙攣得有如臨產的婦女；他們彼此驚愣相視，面容有如火焰。 |
8in terror. Pangs and sorrows take hold of them, like a woman in labor they writhe; They look aghast at each other, their faces aflame. |
| 9看哪！上主的日子來到，必有殘忍、雷霆和烈怒，為使大地變為荒涼，為殲滅地上的罪人。 |
9Lo, the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with wrath and burning anger; To lay waste the land and destroy the sinners within it! |
| 10那時，天上的眾星與群宿不再發光，太陽一升起即變為昏黑，月亮也不再放光明。 |
10The stars and constellations of the heavens send forth no light; The sun is dark when it rises, and the light of the moon does not shine. |
| 11我要懲罰世界，是為了它的罪惡；懲罰惡人，是為了他們的惡行；要抑制自負者的驕橫，要屈服暴虐者的傲慢； |
11Thus I will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their guilt. I will put an end to the pride of the arrogant, the insolence of tyrants I will humble. |
| 12我要使人比提煉的黃金更少見，使人比敖非爾純金更希罕。 |
12 I will make mortals more rare than pure gold, men, than gold of Ophir. |
| 13為此，由於萬軍上主的憤怒，在他暴發怒火之日，天要震撼，地要震動，離其本位。 |
13For this I will make the heavens tremble and the earth shall be shaken from its place, At the wrath of the LORD of hosts on the day of his burning anger. |
| 14那時，人們將如被追逐的羚羊，又如無人率領的羊群，各自轉向自己的民族，各自逃回自己的故鄉。 |
14Like a hunted gazelle, or a flock that no one gathers, Every man shall turn to his kindred and flee to his own land. |
| 15凡被捕獲的，都要被刺殺；凡被擒住的，都要喪身刀下。 |
15Everyone who is caught shall be run through; to a man, they shall fall by the sword. |
| 16他們的嬰兒將在他們眼前被人摔死，他們的房屋將被洗劫，他們的婦女要受姦污。 |
16Their infants shall be dashed to pieces in their sight; their houses shall be plundered and their wives ravished. |
| 17我要鼓勵瑪待人來攻擊他們，這些人既不重視白銀，也不貪愛黃金。 |
17I am stirring up against them the Medes, who think nothing of silver and take no delight in gold. |
| 18他們的弓箭要刺死青年，對腹中的胎兒毫不憐恤，對於嬰兒，他們的眼睛也毫不憐視。 |
18The fruit of the womb they shall not spare, nor shall they have eyes of pity for children. |
| 19巴比倫──萬國的光輝，加色丁的驕矜榮耀，必要被上主傾覆，如同索多瑪和哈摩辣一樣， |
19And Babylon, the jewel of kingdoms, the glory and pride of the Chaldeans, Shall be overthrown by God like Sodom and like Gomorrah. |
| 20永遠再沒有居民，世世代代無人居住；阿剌伯人不在那裏設帳，牧人也不在那裏立欄； |
20She shall never be inhabited, nor dwelt in, from age to age; The Arab shall not pitch his tent there, nor shepherds couch their flocks. |
| 21臥在那裏的只有野獸，他們的房屋滿了鴟鴞；駝鳥在那裏棲息，魍魎在那裏舞蹈； |
21 But wildcats shall rest there and owls shall fill the houses; There ostriches shall dwell, and satyrs shall dance. |
| 22豺狼在宮殿裏嘷叫，野狗在御苑內呼應；她的時期已來近了，她的日子不會久延。 |
22Desert beasts shall howl in her castles, and jackals in her luxurious palaces. Her time is near at hand and her days shall not be prolonged. |
