1 In those days, when Hezekiah was mortally ill, the prophet Isaiah, son of Amoz, came and said to him: "Thus says the LORD: Put your house in order, for you are about to die; you shall not recover." |
| 2希則克雅就轉面朝牆懇求上主說： |
2Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD: |
| 3「上主！求你記憶我如何懷着忠誠齊全的心，在你面前行走；如何作了你視為正義的事。」然後希則克雅放聲大哭。 |
3"O LORD, remember how faithfully and wholeheartedly I conducted myself in your presence, doing what was pleasing to you!" And Hezekiah wept bitterly. |
| 4上主的話傳給依撒意亞說： |
4Then the word of the LORD came to Isaiah: |
| 5「你去對希則克雅說：上主，你祖先達味的天主這樣說：我聽見了你的祈禱，看見了你的眼淚；看，我要在你的壽數上多加十五年， |
5 "Go, tell Hezekiah: Thus says the LORD, the God of your father David: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you: in three days you shall go up to the LORD'S temple; I will add fifteen years to your life. |
| 6且由亞述王手中拯救你和這座城，我必要保護這座城。 |
6I will rescue you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; I will be a shield to this city." |
| 7上主必實踐他所說的話，這將是給你的記號： |
7Isaiah then ordered a poultice of figs to be taken and applied to the boil, that he might recover. |
| 8看，我要使那射在阿哈次的日晷上的日影倒退十度。」果然，射在日晷上的日影倒退了十度。 |
8Then Hezekiah asked, "What is the sign that I shall go up to the temple of the LORD?" |
| 9猶大王希則克雅在病中與病癒後所詠的「金詩」： |
9(Isaiah answered:) "This will be the sign for you from the LORD that he will do what he has promised: |
| 10我曾想過：「正當我的中年，我就要離去；我的餘年將被交於陰府之門。」 |
10 See, I will make the shadow cast by the sun on the stairway to the terrace of Ahaz go back the ten steps it has advanced." So the sun came back the ten steps it had advanced. |
| 11我曾想過：「我再不能在活人的地上看見上主，我再不能在世上的居民中看見世人。 |
11The song of Hezekiah, king of Judah, after he had been sick and had recovered from his illness: |
| 12我的居所被拆除，由我身上撤去，彷彿牧童的帳幕；你好像織工，捲起了我的生命，由織機上將我割斷。白日黑夜你總想將我結束！」 |
12 Once I said, "In the noontime of life I must depart! To the gates of the nether world I shall be consigned for the rest of my years." |
| 13我哀號直到清晨，上主卻如獅子咬碎了我所有的骨骸。 |
13 I said, "I shall see the LORD no more in the land of the living. No longer shall I behold my fellow men among those who dwell in the world." |
| 14我呢喃好似燕子，我哀鳴有如斑鳩；我痛哭的眼睛向上仰視：「上主！我實在痛苦，求你扶持我！」 |
14 My dwelling, like a shepherd's tent, is struck down and borne away from me; You have folded up my life, like a weaver who severs the last thread. Day and night you give me over to torment; |
| 15我還有什麼話可說？因為是上主給我說的，因為是他行的；帶着我內心的痛苦，我要善度我的餘年。 |
15I cry out until the dawn. Like a lion he breaks all my bones; (day and night you give me over to torment). |
| 16吾主！我的心惟有仰望你！求你使我的精神甦醒，使我復原了，使我生存。 |
16Like a swallow I utter shrill cries; I moan like a dove. My eyes grow weak, gazing heavenward: O Lord, I am in straits; be my surety! |
| 17看，我的苦楚已變為安寧，是你保存了我的生命脫免滅亡的深淵，因為你將我所有的罪惡盡拋於你背後。 |
17 What am I to say or tell him? He has done it! I shall go on through all my years despite the bitterness of my soul. |
| 18誠然，陰府不會讚頌你，死亡也不會稱揚你：下到深淵的，不會再仰望你的忠誠。 |
18 Those live whom the LORD protects; yours. . . the life of my spirit. You have given me health and life; |
| 19生者，惟有生者能讚頌你，如我今日一樣；為父的當使自己的兒女認識你的忠信。 |
19 thus is my bitterness transformed into peace. You have preserved my life from the pit of destruction, When you cast behind your back all my sins. |
| 20上主救了我，為此我們願以終生的歲月，在上主的殿內彈奏絃琴！ |
20 For it is not the nether world that gives you thanks, nor death that praises you; Neither do those who go down into the pit await your kindness. |
| 21依撒意亞曾吩咐說：「拿一塊無花果餅來，貼在他的瘡口上，他就會好了。」 |
21The living, the living give you thanks, as I do today. Fathers declare to their sons, O God, your faithfulness. |
| 22希則克雅曾問說：「有什麼憑據，我將登上上主的殿？」 |
22The LORD is our savior; we shall sing to stringed instruments In the house of the LORD all the days of our life. |
